It was a show the entire family sat down and watched, I know my family did, my great grandmother 72 yrs old, my parents in their early forties, my brother and sister 14, 9 & 6 yrs old, eating roasted pnuts and drinking ice cold coca cola. A really great show.

Viewing Sapphire's rants are the highlight of the Amos 'n' Andy shows.
Ernestine Wade should have been awarded an Emmy for her portrayal and performance of the Sapphire character.

Man, this show killed me - I bought whole series on Ebay. I thought it was one of the funniest shows, ever. People griped that it made black people look foolish when it was obviously just an over the top comedy. I mean, did Archie Bunker and Edith make white folks look smart and sane??? No, it they white people look bad in every conceivable way, for the most part. But it was a joke. These were great, comedic actors. I still think Amos & Andy was one of the funniest shows ever to be on TV.

Yes burning and locking away works, like books and film, is a good way to hide history and ensure that the past is repeated anew. What a grand concept practiced by some of the winning ideologues of the past like Joseph, Adolph, Zedong and the wonderful members of the Inquisition. Better this way, so much easier to make witless zealots when they are forbidden investigation. A lack of knowledge and context sure does remove those pesky seeds of wisdom. Welcome to the modern human, stupid and blind but not dumb, shouting madness to all around them. Yes, applaud the destruction of the human record! Onward to a brave new world where progress is declared, not seen!
