Hi! Thank you for great video. I have two questions: 1. Can you replace the folding GoPro fingers on Ulanzi cage? 2. (I have watched your video about cages too) Is the Small Rig magnetic mount any strong while using together with Small Rig cage. I have it but I find it unusable (without cage of cours) for activities (it fell off while being mounted on a windsurf mast). I use it only on tripod now.
Thank you for the kind words and support! I looked at the fingers on the Ulanzi Cage and I guess it would not be impossible to change them, but might take a little bit of "know how". The problem I see is there are holes for the magnets that you would have to drill for. Again, it's not impossible, but I would probably just replace the cage if needed. I mainly use the SmallRig magnetic mount for attaching to a suction cup or tripod. Every now and then I will use it to mount a light to the side of the cage instead of using the cold shoe. Never tried using it directly sticking the magnets to metal. I don't think I could trust my $300 camera with a $20 magnet 😒. Thanks again for the kind words! Hope I helped answer your question
The ND4 is good for all around shooting. You don't wanna go too dark in case you're driving through pockets of shade. Honestly just shooting in HDR has been great but mid day, I'd recommend the ND4 or ND8. I've yet to use the 32 or 64. I hope this helps and I really appreciate your support! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Thanks for the feedback! Audio has always been my weak spot. I'm self taught and learning every day. My aim is usually -12dB. If you were to go though my videos you could probably hear when I have learned something new, lol, or upgraded my gear. I really do appreciate the feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Hello Donny thanks for your videos, was wondering if you can recommend a chest mount for the DJI osmo action 3, the original one is out of stock!, thanks!
Hello, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I have been using this one with great results.amzn.to/3Dd6xR3 I like it because of the pockets. I I need to I can tuck a small battery bank for long record time. From my experience, all of the rest are about the same but here is a link to one kit that has everything you may need with good reviews and a decent price. amzn.to/3NOvhnt. Thanks again for your time and support. I hope this helps
@bigedkc I've had pretty good results with a neck strap. I've tried a few different brands and they all seem to work about the same, so in the case cheaper may actually be better. Biggest benefit with the neck mount over the chest mount is when you lean over or bend down the camera will still shoot forward rather than the ground
I bought several suction cups from Harbor Freight and slightly modified them to mount a camera to my car. They are rock solid and rather inexpensive. They will not come off if installed correctly. You don't even really have to modify them just attach your camera to a magic arm or clamp that attaches to the suction cup handles and your are off. I actually just mostly use magnetic bases connected to small ball heads to mount my cameras now though. Not a good idea if you have a nice car but I don't and it's no problem for me. I also have the little Ulanzi twist/magnet quick release system that I use on both of my Osmo Actions and they are life changing. Easily one of the best systems I have ever bought and I have probably five sets of them. Super convenient and not too expensive either. I'm considering getting the Osmo 3 but am not sure yet. Nice video.
Yeah, that is the walnut case from Mous. A bit pricey but probably one of the best cases I've ever used. I believe they have it in bamboo as well. I build cabinets and furniture full time so wood grain is kinda my thing. 😉🤓 Thanks for your time and comment!
Hi ! Is the frame completely securing the camera when it's Close. I want to use it in amusement Parks (roller coaster) and i want to know if the not risk to open accidentaly and if the gram Can be open accidentally by you or me ? Thanks for your video
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Yes, the camera is completely secure. Especially if you use the flip down action cam mount. The glass lens does stick out a bit, but with the wide field of view there isn't much they could do. The lens is affordable and replaceable is the worst were to happen. Which I have not had any issues with so far. I've tested all the cages that are available for the Action 3 and found the Ulanzi to be the "beefiest". Hope this helps and thanks again for your time!
I'm using the Osmo Action 3 with the Smallrig cage which looks pretty similar. I've been really enjoying it and really prefer having my DJI mic receiver in a cold shoe rather than just in the side. Never feels right having a £300 mic held in just by a USB C plug... Great video! 👍
@donny B - Love that Ulanzi Cage and it's functionality. I'm not thrilled with the DJI protective case sometimes. It makes the buttons less responsive, especially in winter with gloves on. What is the difference in weight between the two? The Ulanzi is approx. 87 gm.
Between which two? The original DJI? Or SmallRig? I was just explaining this morning how I feel more peace of mind when using the Ulanzi. Especially when mounting on something moving. The built in tabs for hard mount is a great idea.
Ok, so I went ahead and bought a digital scale. Figured if I'm going to be reviewing products, I might as well have one. Now that I do, I have the answer to your question. The DJI case is 29 grams. I hope you find it useful and maybe worth a sub to the channel. Thanks again for your time and comment 👍
Great informative video. You mention the DJI Wirelese Mic in this video. Did you try to with the Ulanzi or PGYTech Alum Case on the Action 3 to plug the Wireless Receiver direct into the USB-C port? Reason I ask is because it is not possible with the Factory Case that came with the Action 3. You would need some kind of cable.
Thank you! Unfortunately, the DJI Mic receiver will only work with the Smallrig cage. I ordered one to test, but the delivery date keeps getting pushed back. I have been recording straight to the internal storage of the receiver or using a usb-c cable.
I can tell you that there is no issue with the focus. I just bought one about two weeks ago. I think it depends on where you get it from. I would buy it straight from DJI website that’s where I got mine’s.
Thanks for the sub and taking the time to watch. I like pgytech alot. In my opinion it's the way DJI should have made it. Alot more sleek than the others and cheaper. The Ulanzi is a tank. It functions well and just overall feels more rugged. Do you own the DJI Mic? The only cage that will accommodate that is the small rig. But to answer your question, I prefer the Ulanzi. But they are all great. Thanks again for you time and support! I'll do my best to earn it!
Hello and thank you for the great video! Question, If you have the PGYTECH Cage on the action 3 will it still fit in the Tomat Osmo Action 3 Carrying Case?
That's a great question. I have not tried that configuration yet but I will. It will be a little bit before I'm in my office but it will be the first thing I do when I get in. If I had to guess though, I'm pretty sure it will. It is very close to the dji and it fits no problem
I owe you an apology! But maybe I can redeem myself with some good news? I forgot to respond to you this morning but I did check and yes it will fit with the Pgytech cage on it. Sorry for the delay
I need a third party battery case, I was not able to buy the adventure pack bec it's out of stock. but dji is not selling it separately, only the batteries.
Are you referring to the magnetic quick release? If so, yes the Action 2 release will work on the 3 but not the other way around. Also, the Action 3 mount has a rubber pad that isolates noise from the mount. Some of the Action 2 mounts caused some "squeaking" from metal on metal contact. Hope this helps
Hello, thanks for watching and reaching out. I have had great results with voice commands. If you pull down the settings menu from the top, you will see a face pointing towards the left. Make sure that is turned on and then you can simply say "take photo" or "start recording". This is the method that has worked best for me. It's not 100% reliable but it's a solid 98%.
