Here in the colonies, these are called greens mowers reel mowers and turf mowers. Those that maintain golf courses use them since the give a better, smoother turf. As a kid in the 50s and 60s, I used the older push reel mower. If you want a really manicured look, reel is the way to go. You have a nice large back garden Mick.

clover is a nitrogen fixer as a legume, meaning it adds nitrogen to the soil as it grows instead of taking it out, so some is good for the lawn. Nice video!

One of the things I noticed about this mower is that the blade does not run close to the outer edge of the mower on either side. This means that it won't cut very close to Wall's or fences etc. While not perfect, the Allett mowers do appear to be slightly better for this. 👍
I would say it's the same .. as both have a gear cove on one side..

Works ok!. But it had a bloody job overstriping the stripes your own mower laid. I have tried out a number of othe cobra rotary cobra mowers that i have repaired for people. On the whole, i have not been impressed at all. Pickup & good bagging whilst cutting taller grass is pretty dire, especially when damp.
My own hayter 41 pro puts them in the shade tbh. I have not yet had a cobra roller mower to repair as they are a tad new. But of course as time passes owners will ask me to fix this & that on them. The allett is hard to beat overall. Parts are readily available & that is vital. My allett has not given me any bother at all. But, my mowers are kept in tip top condition.

A sad day when you have to say goodbye to something that runs this good. Nice machine but we only see them here in Canada on the golf course greens. Lawn looks lush.

I love cutting the lawn so have not understood the need for a robot mower, but you just convinced me of its use!
This year ive been having to use a rotary before my cylinder almost every time i cut, sending the robot to do that topping off is genius.
Can you send a link to where you can buy the robot mower?
Also i really like the cyclinder, im currently ysing a 20+ year old suffolk punch but cant bring myself to pay allet money. This cobra mower seems ideal.

If you like maneuvering 80 Kg.almost double the weight of the Allett. Imagine having to lift onto your workbench !!!! Hernia killer.

Are you able to engage the reel roller to move the mower around without engaging the reel?
Yes mate .. the front one does the cylinder and the back one does the roller
@@themowerman okay. Thank you for the reply. I wasn't sure if the lever that engages the rear drum only works if the reel is engaged as well, meaning I didn't know if you could use each one independent of the other.
