As a lifelong Angels fan, Ken was spot on. He said what we've been saying for years. This is a team without a vision. Zero direction and it doesn't matter who the manager or GM is as long as Moreno owns the team. I'm sick of treading water, hovering around .500. Enough already. Go all in or all out. Choose!!
I really thought they should have just bit the bullet and traded Ohtani last deadline; dispite them being on a “hot streak”.
It's all about the money with Moreno. He just wants the team to be competitive enough to make money but doesn't care about winning.
@@SuperReviews4you really sucks for you guys as fans man, and I mean that whole heartedly. He’d rather milk that Ohtani income for an extra two months than get 4 top prospects back for the biggest name in the sport. Teams would have paid up too, could have turned the entire playoff picture upside down with Ohtani going to a competitor.
I always say, cheap owners have no place in a sport with no salary cap.
The vision for the team for years has been to acquire star players and to not put a decent team around them.
Feel bad for angels fans. Your owner is an a hole
I'm a life long Angel's fan for the past 40 years, trade Mike Trout right now ! Give the guy a chance to win a world series
He has a full no trade clause, so he would want a trade first off. And it doesn’t sound like he’s keen on being traded.
@@FusRoDah-Dovakin A trade of a player with a no trade clause doesn’t necessarily start with the player requesting a trade. There are ways the team can induce the player to consent to a trade which start with making the player aware of tactics the team could do, like potentially sitting the player, etc. Regardless of whether such a trade starts with the player asking to be traded or the team proposing a trade, it usually starts privately by the two parties. If Trout wants to be traded, it is highly unlikely that he is going to make a public demand for a trade. Since such a trade requires both parties to act in good faith, it is not in the best interests of either party to take a public adversarial position and, therefore, any potential trade of Trout wouldn’t become public information until both parties agree on the possibility of a trade and the parameters of a trade both sides agree to, like which teams Trout would agree to be traded to, etc.
@@dorothygale1104 you’re delusional to think that Angels will sit Trout to force a trade lmao one of the games biggest stars and someone the owner has a good relationship with. You could prolly do that with an under performing, less popular player, but never with a superstar like Trout.
@@FusRoDah-Dovakin I said there are ways (plural) a team could induce a player to waive a no-trade clause and then said “like sitting”, which in the context of my comment means that is one example. I didn’t day say the Angels “will” or “would” sit Trout or that is the only way to get a player to waive a no-trade clause. The point isn’t whether or not the Angels would sit Trout to induce him to agree to be traded, but rather, there are various ways any team could induce a player with a no-trade clause to be traded, as it is not at all rare that such players get traded. A no-trade clause doesn’t mean a player can’t be traded; it means that the player is in a control position in the process as opposed to the team having control. If a team wants a player to agree to waive the no-trade clause, the player certainly can say “No”, but that usually leads to a contentious situation, including tactics that one would think unlikely.
Ken Rosenthal every interview "That's a good question"
Every interview, "NOW...."
It's interesting that Rosenthal said that we've never seen the Pirates make the splashy trade at the deadline while also mentioning that they traded Glasnow and Meadows for Chris Archer. Archer was the most coveted trade deadline piece that year
Philadelphia for Trout. Makes to much sense for everyone involved.
Does Philly have the prospects? I don't know their system.
@@snerdtergusonTheir GM is Dave Dombrowski so no they don’t have the prospects.
@@TheBenedictchan1 they have 4 top 100 prospects, 2 pitchers 2 position players
What are you giving us and of course you have to take his whole contract.
Except for Mike Trout.
always spot on
Mike Trout: I want to win in Anaheim, I don't want a trade
Ken Rosenthal: MiKe wAnTs TrAdE sOoN mE ThInKs
People give "politically correct" answers all the time. Of course he doesn't want to advertise something like that at the beginning of a season. Plus he has too much respect for his teammates to embarrass them openly
Then Trout doesn't want to win.
Trout didn't say he didn't want a trade. He said he wants to win in Anaheim. That's very different. Yes, he wants to win with the Angels-- but at 32, if he hits 50 homers and this team finishes in 4th--- believe me he's going to have a come to Jesus moment and discuss moving on-- hope mentioning Jesus didn't offend Joe Biden and the trans community?
Wanting to win in Anaheim is like wanting to make cologne out of cow s*it. Not gonna happen.
The braves will take him!
Could the Soto thing not just be as simple as he’s back in right field where he played for the Nats, whereas he played in LF for the Padres the past year.5?
Angels would include Rendon as part of the package with any Trout trade as they'd want to get put of that contract as well
If the Angels trade Rendon, whether alonr or in combination with Trout, they wouldn’t get out of that contrct, as they would have to eat a big portion of that contract either via a lump sum payment or paying part of the annual salary over time. The Mets are doing exactly that with Verlander and Scherzer’ contracts, although they won’t be paying/subsidizing under those teo contracts for nearly as ling as the amount of time Rendon’s contract has remaining to run.
They should’ve traded ohtani and gotten a significant return
No one wants Trout at his salary. The Angels will need to pay half his salary for anyone to take him.
The Pirates were 20-8 last year. Rosenthal doesn't care for the Pirates because of his relationship with Scott Borass. The Pirates are better now and will be better in the future than the Tigers.
Right idk how Torkelson/Riley Greene are more established than Reynolds/Hayes or even Cruz/Davis I’d take any buc in this lineup over guys like tork/baez Parker meadows/Colt Keith are interesting but Pirates division just as open as the AL central 🏴☠️
The problem is he will need to have a fully healthy year for people to be interested in him with that contract. The Angels are going to have to eat money just to get any sort of prospect return.
they not getting anything back.
Anaheim Angels should have traded Mike Trout two years ago and there's fans know this now contact age health unlikely 🤨🤔😀😀😀
Philadelphia boy Mike Trout is wasting his waning years in Anaheim.
Send my guy to the PHILS let him do the hometown team!
Trout could go down in history as the greatest stat compiler of all time
He’s a Phillies guy. If Trout wants to win now, which ever team takes him, he needs to agree defer his salary.
I don’t think the players association would let him restructure his contract. That’s pretty much what happened to ARod and the Red Sox
Trout going to either the Orioles or Phillies is likely going to happen later in his career - or maybe sooner?🤔
Trout should go to Phillies as much as I would like to seem him on Yankees I think the Phillies would win with him.
I have a feeling T has a bone to pick with Ohtani. What better place to Harbor that is with the Giants. Giants trade Yaz and Slater for T. Restructure T's contract as 45 per year for 4 or 5 years with 40 per year defered.
Mike Trout doesn’t care about winning and he doesn’t care about growing the game
Didnt Trout already have a couple of opportunities to leave the Angels?
Owners will never agree on a spending floor so how about this: a soft floor. For every team that doesnt reach the floor, a team thats over the lux tax doesnt have to pay, starting from worst to best record. You want revenue shairing money? Spend.
There is already a soft floor with league minimum salaries. However, the gap between the lowest and highest payrolls is a problem. MLB probably needs a hard floor and cap so that there is more competitive balance.
As an Angels fan I really hope they do!! Its time to give this guy a shot at going to the playoffs. As long as Arte owns this team....its going to be a shit show!!
Nobody is taking on that contract
Juan wasn’t happy in San Diego and it showed add a free agent year…
The Angels need a new owner. Arte Moreno sucks. He only cares about selling tickets. Fans need to stop wasting their money buying tickets. We need a massive boycott.
As a Rockies and Mariners fan, I feel your pain.
Nah I'm going to games
The best thing to do to hurt Arte is not buy tickets and not buy merch..
Dodger fan here but recently i Checked seat geek and angel tickets start at $10 and checked dodgers tix and top deck starts at $58 … those top deck tix used to be $11.. im not opposed to going to angels stadium to see a game for that cheap a price… arte does suck tho as an owner
@@randy_Savage82 That's just the bad seats. I doubt Arte dropped all prices.
They should do him a favor and trade him ASAP.
He has a no trade contract. Trout can only be traded if he wants to be traded. And he doesn't.
Ken I feel like this is all you talk about. Maybe wait for Trout to ask for a trade before talking about it again.
They asked him the question about Trout first. Was he supposed to ignore it?
Trout has 0 interest in winning. He’s not going anywhere.
Mike Trout doesnt care about winning thats why he took the angels money. He could have come to the east coast and play in ny Philly boston but he chose no pressure Anaheim
Relegation! Compete or be demoted! This is the ONLY way you’ll light fires under the butts of the owners who enjoy the benefits of the TV Money without ever feeling the need to field a competitive team.
nobody will pay trout those money
Sell the Angels to Steve Ballmer.
Trade Trout to the Phillies
Trade Rendon in a salary dump to the Rockies
Trade Ward, Drury, Hicks, Moore, Sandoval, Cimber, Anderson, and Stephenson to anyone who is willing to give prospects and young players (24 and younger).
The MVP will either be Trout or Soto. This will be the year for the Angels to trade Trout to the Phillies and come away with a big three player haul in Andrew Painter, Mick Abel and Crawford. If Trout is at the top of the leader board I have no doubt Philly pulls the trigger. Reduces the payroll to the point they can release Rendon if they have to. Eat the last two years of his salary. Trade all the individual pieces away-- Taylor Ward, Drury, Regnifo, Estevez, Moore, Stephenson,... all will bring back good prospects. Then let the kids play and they have a solid nucleus with O'Hoppe at catcher, Neto at short and Moniak in center, Adell in right, Schanuel at first. Good young pitchers in Detmers, Silseth and Soriano. They have a lot of big arms in A-ball coming, but they are 2-3 years away. They have the eighth pick in the draft that will either net them a big arm like Brody Brecht-- or a third baseman like the power hitting Tommy White. They have a stud outfielder who is two seasons away from being their CF. Sell this year and prepare to be a competitive team in two seasons and every year moving forward.
You can't trade trout with othani on the team as well.
You have to try to win with both of them.
@@Dee_Rod I don't understand? Ohtani is gone and they got nothing. So, are you saying it's impossible they'll trade Trout? If Trout asks for it they will. They aren't going to make Trout stay here if he doesn't want to.
@@bhbecca I agree.. I was stating that they weren't going to trade trout while othani was there. You got to try to win with the two best players in baseball at the time. Minus Judge.
They aren’t getting anything back for Trout. His salary is too high.
@@je9237 Are you joking? if he's healthy is the best CF by far and he's probably the best player in the game aside from Ohtani. $36M for six seasons is manageable for all of the big market clubs. You're just wildly wrong.
Trout has not shown interest in being traded. He is remaining loyal to the Angels and i respect him for that. Stop trying to get the Angels to trade him. Its not going to happen lol.
Trout to philly .
Ken loves to bring up players past that have nothing to with anything that is of relevance
If they do Philadelphia doesn't want him.
Ken, Mike trout chose money over the championship. Let him rot in Anaheim. He is washed up anyway, another Giancarlo Stanton type.
Given his injury history Trout’s most productive years are likely behind him. If some other team takes on his contract it will be an overspend.
i love ken but him and everyone need to stop speaking for trout
The love for Mike Trout is insane. The reason the Angels dont win is Mike Trout. Hes unreliable and vastly Overpaid. Stop making excuses for this guy. If you buy tickets for an Angels game you have about a 50% chance of seeing Trout play. This guy had Ohtani and Pujols as teammates and still couldnt win. Im tired of people assuming Trout will go to a team and be better. He will go to another team and miss half the games. The guy is unreliable. You cant possibly win when your best player is iffy every god damn day. Injuries count and no Mike trout isnt all that and a cup of tea.
Think about this: Mike Trout has never won a MLB playoff game in his life. One series and the Angels were 0-3. And that was 10 years ago. Arte Moreno should be ashamed of himself.
no one AT ALL is taking Rendon
Trade him to the Yankees for Stanton. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!
Arte Moreno has no respect for his players and Mike Trout has no respect for himself , he needs to go to a place where one , he is not under the arte moreno curse and two where ownership will respect his presence. He needs to see the writing on the wall, ARTE IS CURSED!
Stop revenue sharing. It's BS. These teams don't spend money on team players
Dumb. Covid policy lol
Trout has 0 interest in winning. He’s not going anywhere.
Trout strikes out 3 times in a game and all is quiet. He did it 11 times in 82 games last season. How do you think fans would react in Philadelphia Boston or NY if he went there and started striking out 3 times in a game. Always been overrated. Has 3 HRs and his fans are predicting a MVP season. As usual 3 HRs and just 3 RBIs
Bad take
You guys are outta your mind , Mike trout signed that contract willingly and has never asked for a trade! this off season was the first time he has even mentioned the thought crossing his mind , it’s only national media not connected to or interested in angels baseball the keeps this hot garbage 🗑️ of a narrative going , it’s damn near click bait ! we’re 3-2 to start the season , why trade a guy playing well on a new team of young kids , trout said winning in Anaheim would be better than taking the easy way like ohtani . So knock this shit off , this narrative is trash and needs to end .
