You get the staff of life by wading through literally thousands of Grox planets, to the center of the galaxy. You'll most likely be destroyed before you get there. The rest, I don't know.
you get to change the colors of the planets. sun rays and atmosphere don't effect the colors. when you find certain tools you can change the colors of the land, sea, and air. the only thing that makes a difference is when you have a strong atmosphere the colors seem alot stronger and they change a little at certain elevations. it is a great game and i would recommend you purchasing it!

Respond to this video... that and conditions of said planet for terraforming, for earth based life, is the atmosphere 70% Nitrogen, is there then C02 in the atmosphere is the planets orbit stable (requires years of observation) and the final ingredient for earth based life is a magnetic field, tides may play an important factor as well, that and rotational eccentricity (different than orbit)
