    • @DSImprovement-ir8zh
      @DSImprovement-ir8zh 17 днів тому

      @@tennisfreak8842 That’s actually not a unique or “off” take because your exact concern is covered in the book, in multiple sections. I’ll explain in my words because I don’t feel like it really spoils anything: he specifically says that you should spend time outside of the “Now” by planning for the future when required and by thinking back to the past for important memories, lessons learned, etc. But you shouldn’t dwell on past or future events too much because that often leads to worry/anxiety/self-consciousness. Additionally, dwelling on future events too intensely can get you into the thought pattern of “once I achieve X, my life will be great”, when in reality, your life is already great but you just don’t stop to appreciate it.
      There’s so much great content in that book and I feel like it’s the kind of thing where you can take it as far as you want. I promise, it’s not the sort of thing where once you read it you’ll completely let go of the past and future, although sometimes I wish that were the case, lol. If you go into it just trying to be a bit more present, be more in touch with your emotions, and/or let go of compulsive thought patterns, it will absolutely help.

    I read a few of them and can tell that you described the main idea of these book very good. Yet - they have a lot more to offer inside them. For example - Atomic habits not only show you the idea of 1%, but suggest ways to implement this 1% in your life. Which is practical and really helpful if you don't know where to start. Same comes to the Dale Carnegie - his book is a must-read for people who struggle to socialize and start conversations, not because of the idea, but because of practical approach shown inside of it. I can't stress enough how much easier my life turned out to be after reading it and how much cool people I know now because of it.
    I'm writing it because a lot of people ( myself included ) at some point of time could decide that all these books are "success selling" scam things. And while 90% of them on market truly are, but these 10% - pure gems and worth reading fully. I'm not a native English person so I'm sorry for my grammar mistakes.

Every chapter touches on 1-2 stories from history. They’re framed in order to show the efficacy of the chapter’s law, but the basic information is still based in history.
