Yeah, it is the car that I would buy today, if I where to look for another car. It is for people with taste, not for generic people who buy generic cars like VW.
i have one 2, and this lady doesnt understand nothing , the interior are not cheap plastic, golf and peugeout and renault are cheap plastic, this is premium plastic , well built , drive like a charm, i´ve had an A4 and i like this Lancia Better , try peugeout, vw , seat , renault before buy this car, and this beats them all
Some Manufacturer should buy lancia from FCA...i don't care ,even a non italian manufacturer, as long as it is gonna give the brand the respect it deserve. Unlike what that Oligarch Marchionne is doing.
I totally understand FCAs choice of pulling the Lancia name out of the market. As long as people buy SUVs by the masses, manufacturers are racing on who can produce bigger touchscreens and boring vehicles top sales lists such an ancient brand with vastly different values is doomed to fail.
It's a great car, my dad owns one for 4 years and never had any problems. I'm from Belgium so it's a Lancia. It doesn't have anything to do with the original integrale but Lancia nowadays focuses on luxury instead. If you want a more sporty car buy the Alfa Giulietta, if you want a more budget friendly one buy the Fiat Bravo; they all share the same platform and engines. If you compare this to say a VW Golf it's obvious that it can't match the German level of detail but hey for a similar equipped Golf you'd have to pay at least 5 grant more. I learned to drive in this car and I love it. It has the 1.6 multijet diesel and actually does the 60 mpg quite well. The torque delivery for a 1.6 is also decent, before this one we had a VW Passat tdi with united injectors and it was far more noisy than this one. Ofcourse the most recent tdi's are quieter but the Delta is in production since 2008. Ours has Bose audio, alcantara leather trim, dual climate control, cruise control etc. and all works as supposed to.
True. I'd take the Giulietta and Delta over the Golf any day as they are much sexier inside and out. But quality and design aside, the Alfa and Lancia marques are already a class above VW, and on par with the likes of Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
Lorenz Nelesen I am glad you liked it, I have been inside one a few years ago and hated pretty much everthing about the interior. to me it resonated as a a waste of volume with little practicality.
@Fabio Spiesanzotti Fiat invented the modern common rail injection system in their JTD engines, and sold the licence to Bosch and VW to upgrade their WWII technology...
I've got a verison for the continent. I live in Swiss. Without all electronic safety systems, this car is astonoshing. For the driving comfort, lower noise, excelent grip & roling control, very to block the front wheels without ABS. The italian engineers hav making a very great work ! The result is lovely. For all the car I've in my life, this is the top ! I never feel so safe in a car like this before !
@0:19 It is the Lancia Delta 3 for Brits. 👍 @1:59 Not really. The 1.4 T-Jet Multiair has the most bang for your buck and if you care about fuel consumption do a LPG conversion.
Diesels generally have more torque than petrols, and they ARE more economical.. Some race cars nowadays use diesel, and hybrids are getting it too. So no, diesels doesn't suck, its pretty much the future.
I know it doesnt stand for its name but I own one (under lancia badge), and trust me, in everyday city life, it is just as good as a golf, if not even better.
Dunno if everyone remembers, but Lancia got some pretty bad press in the '80s in the UK due to how quickly they rusted, and their PR never recovered as a result. This may explain the rebadging, though Chrysler aren't exactly known for making good cars here either.
I drove the Lancia Delta as hire car in Italy last year, I like the looks, but the 1st and 2nd gear on the diesel has no torque, not what you expect from a diesel. I had to rev it hard if I didnt want to stall the engine on hills. I had no problems with Fiat cars before.
its true they are more economical but the problem with diesels is not the CO2 but Nox that is far worse.( go to a room with Nox and that will be your last post)
It may be marketed as a family car but I like to think of it as a compact executive rival, I cannot imagine Emma and Steve taking the kids to school in this; when a Scenic would do the job a lot better, no this is more likely for Paul and Richard off to Stoke on business to do 'pyramid selling'.
You're wrong, this is the Chrysler Delta not the Lancia Delta. So the interior is cheap and worse than in a Lancia. And it's kind of American. But don't get me wrong, because in some ways it's a good car. ;)
tbh no-one cared about the build quality on old lancias, when they worked they were beasts on the road, fiat should really sort the company out and make beautiful italian cars that do not look like cheap hatchbacks
I still maintain that Rebecca needs to carry a Matt sized doll for her spaciousness tests because people like myself can't really trust her 5' 4'' frame.
Lancia is a great brand but only in Italy is see by good eyes. I am Italian and I am so sorry for that. In anywise its cost now in 2nd hand is really good.
If I may give you a bit of advise, Rebecca: You don't always have to SAY you're going to do the big bottle or practicality test, after a few vids this gets annoying in my opinion. Just do the test :) This aside, great review, as always :)
The main points she says are true but dealership aftersales are very poor and the interior falls apart after 6 months, plus the one I owned had an ill-fitting bonnet/hood that you could see the engine through when closed- panel gaps? At least an inch
It loses any sense of style with the Chrysler badge on it. As a Lancia though (As in the film "Letters to Juliet" haha), I feel its weaknesses can be more easily forgiven. Also, the cream/beige version of the interior seems to hide the cheaapness of the plastics better.
the 1.9 biturbo diesel is very cheap now, and i test drive the car but 2 turbos in diesel i dont know... more problems??? but the interiors are crap.. cheap/hard plastic and low quality like a renaut clio inteior... maby i go instead for a Alfa 159 2.4 alfa 147 owner.
I've owned one of these for over two years now and I have learnt that these car reviews are meaningless. It has design faults but none of the ones she highlights. The interior for example is actually better quality than many other mainstream cars of this class and it also handles the twisty roads of Cornwall pretty well too. The diesel engine revs smoothly and is quieter at speed than most competitors. The column stalks are perfectly strong, however, she fails to note that the indicator is over-eager to self cancel. She also misses the fact that the front seats are a bit too hard and lack under thigh support. These cars now represent a serious bargain, just avoid ex Chrysler dealers for servicing.
Quality - Price is more that you get for, BUT you can't compare this with Golf. Its waaaaay out of its league. Also when you make a review next time at least point some pluses and minuses about suspension, engine, problems with the cars soo we can make somewhat of a opinion of the model. Forgot to mention that in the sump there's a rubber wich from time to time has to be changed, the rubber hardens after time and the oil doesn't go as easy to the engine as it should normally. That is the only big concern about this model.
why would this be branded as a chrysler, no-one in the uk wants a chrysler and why can't good lancias be made nowadays like the ones of the 80s and 90s?
Still one of the most beautiful hatchbacks.
Yeah, it is the car that I would buy today, if I where to look for another car. It is for people with taste, not for generic people who buy generic cars like VW.
@jemimallah look at 2 pictures. One with a Delta and one with a Golf. Witch is more likely to make you vomit? I'd say Golf.
@jemimallah That's your opinion only... The Delta is different but in a good non controversial way
@jemimallah and exactly as you said... "Golf just looks like a car". It's a lump of car. You can't even describe it, it's just that typical.
@jemimallah the new Golf was designed by an Italian and the Delta has a new model that actually looks better than Golf even in render
I'm a proud owner of Lancia Delta 3. I've had it over two years, love driving it and love it looks. Works like a clock, without any problems.
i have one 2, and this lady doesnt understand nothing , the interior are not cheap plastic, golf and peugeout and renault are cheap plastic, this is premium plastic , well built , drive like a charm, i´ve had an A4 and i like this Lancia Better , try peugeout, vw , seat , renault before buy this car, and this beats them all
still have it?
Some Manufacturer should buy lancia from FCA...i don't care ,even a non italian manufacturer, as long as it is gonna give the brand the respect it deserve. Unlike what that Oligarch Marchionne is doing.

More than golf, friend, Lancia is the Luxury and Charme !
This is such a fabulous looking car, I’d choose this over the competition any day
I've got a verison for the continent.
I love Lancia, but if Lancia don't have make a change, that company will desapear like Saab !
Lancia Delta HF Turbo Intregale is also my favorite car of all time. So we have already something in common Rebecca 😁
This car has a soul, don't forget that, and you will give this car a name. Look at Smokerspack's review of this car.
Ok now i know that apart from being five foot and a half, she has no kids and one of her favourite cars is Delta Integrale.
This has been around a lot longer, it just took its time coming to the UK
This car was out a long time before Focus. It's called Lancia Delta.
WOW Lancia Delta Integrale is one of my favorite cars of all time.. we have so much in common
Simp
This makes me feel sad about the future of Lancia...
Also the cabin can become amazine in bicolour beige black with alcantara trim all over including black leather on the dashboard.
@0:19 It is the Lancia Delta 3 for Brits. 👍

Why does carbuyer always loves diesels? It may be most efficient, but petrol is just so much more fun!
lancia delta! italian beautiful
I prefer the chrysler delta to the Lancia because the chrysler's badge is nicer and makes the car look more modern:)
If you say "oh, that's a doddle!" it means that that particular thing is easy and simple to do.
I know it doesnt stand for its name but I own one (under lancia badge), and trust me, in everyday city life, it is just as good as a golf, if not even better.
It is not sold in US
Dunno if everyone remembers, but Lancia got some pretty bad press in the '80s in the UK due to how quickly they rusted, and their PR never recovered as a result. This may explain the rebadging, though Chrysler aren't exactly known for making good cars here either.
Love your presentation Rebecca! When is the US going to get this car? I like the stylish back end.
Thank you for this review it was very helpful!
Izvinite, da li ste kupili ovakvu Lancia-u?
Very good looking car.
I like the way she says And...
I drove the Lancia Delta as hire car in Italy last year, I like the looks, but the 1st and 2nd gear on the diesel has no torque, not what you expect from a diesel. I had to rev it hard if I didnt want to stall the engine on hills. I had no problems with Fiat cars before.
Still a real looker. I am wishing I'd got one and the tried to turn it back into the Lancia it is, with the handsome (pre-facelift) Lancia grille.
"and this makes going round mini round abouts a doddle". She drove right through the other lanes while going round! Haha
I just ordered one and were smiling all time till she got to driver seat and it was on the opposide side...
Do car not come with air condition still or do they just say that.
The old Skoda cars were known to be unreliable but know they are alot better e.g Skoda superb, Skoda fabia, skoda yeti
Excellent Lancia car!!! The best brand for TOP GEAR!!!
Rabecca is agree. And i think Fiat Group should produce only city cars.
Odd, Chrysler has a more recognized brand in UK than Lancia? Looks far more premium on the outside than a Golf, will the US be getting this I wonder
its true they are more economical but the problem with diesels is not the CO2 but Nox that is far worse.( go to a room with Nox and that will be your last post)
I think she is the coolest auto-moto girl out there!
Hey Rebecca where is the 5 feet 4 inches and a "half" line?
So I would probaly suit a more sedate driving style than mine.. Love you Becca
I'd personally go for 1.8Di jet. 200hp petrol
Is not bad either
'I'm not the tallest of people'.. please hold me back 'cause I'm going to hug her soooo much..
this is the Lancia model! but why was the Lancia model names changed the Chrysler model names in uk?
Due to British motoring jorunalism the Lancia brand name deteoriated so much in the UK over the years, that anything with that badge was unmarketable.
Wish I could get this at my local Chrysler dealer but alas, I live in the States.
It may be marketed as a family car but I like to think of it as a compact executive rival, I cannot imagine Emma and Steve taking the kids to school in this; when a Scenic would do the job a lot better, no this is more likely for Paul and Richard off to Stoke on business to do 'pyramid selling'.
Hey, I'm from Stoke. No jokes about our city, please.
Chrysler please keep your PT cruiser, Neon and Delta on your shores
It makes me very sad to see that the legend, Delta Integrale, became this...
Decent? It does have the larger wheelbase and knee room in its class you know.
To be honest, It wouldn't look out of place in a scrapyard
Don’t want a diesel for city driving, DPF’s are a thing 🤣
Why they thought we'd want a Chrysler in the UK is beyond me.
You're wrong, this is the Chrysler Delta not the Lancia Delta. So the interior is cheap and worse than in a Lancia. And it's kind of American. But don't get me wrong, because in some ways it's a good car. ;)
If only Chrysler was that good looking in the U.S
Have you seen the Lancia version? Philistine...
That moment when the soundtrack of a Mitsubishi ad is the same as the one in a tv-game ad...
I was laughing when she said it was a beautiful car. And that she was a Lancia fan of the Integrale.
My thoughts exactly!
Bekkie's back....yeeeeaaahhhh
Are the interiors that different?
i really like this car, exterior and interior...but it's stupid how it is called chrysler in uk :/
It was so stupid for FCA to sell this as a bloody Chrysler. Yuk. I'd have loved one at the time in its proper Lancia branding.
Why the hell is Lancia sold as Chrysler in UK? This car IS a real Lancia, not a rebranded Chrysler, so what's up with that?
tbh no-one cared about the build quality on old lancias, when they worked they were beasts on the road, fiat should really sort the company out and make beautiful italian cars that do not look like cheap hatchbacks
because it's classy, economical and elegant. everything americans don't like .
please review the ford focus 1.0 ecoboost
I still maintain that Rebecca needs to carry a Matt sized doll for her spaciousness tests because people like myself can't really trust her 5' 4'' frame.
Lancia is a great brand but only in Italy is see by good eyes. I am Italian and I am so sorry for that. In anywise its cost now in 2nd hand is really good.
Fiat should have imported this to the US and sold it as a Cheysler PT Cruiser.
Back end reminds me of an old Murano, anyone agree?
nope, they suprisingly come! for example entry level Polo..
If I may give you a bit of advise, Rebecca: You don't always have to SAY you're going to do the big bottle or practicality test, after a few vids this gets annoying in my opinion. Just do the test :)
This aside, great review, as always :)
Great review!!
The main points she says are true but dealership aftersales are very poor and the interior falls apart after 6 months, plus the one I owned had an ill-fitting bonnet/hood that you could see the engine through when closed- panel gaps? At least an inch
Really??? An inch panel gaps??? Are you blind? All cars these days are made by robots ... so ... same standards for all manufacturers!
Why is it called Chrysler in UK?!
Do the seats fold flat?
The Uk is in Europe right :( so call it the lancia delta
It loses any sense of style with the Chrysler badge on it. As a Lancia though (As in the film "Letters to Juliet" haha), I feel its weaknesses can be more easily forgiven. Also, the cream/beige version of the interior seems to hide the cheaapness of the plastics better.
I wish some others company would buy Chrysler/lancia from fiat.
Lancia sell more cars than Alfa Romeo! They aren't going anywhere...but I agree they should step it up a bit.
yes
VW, Skoda, Renault make the best affordable hatchbacks.
I love chryslers!
its a bravo isn't it?
The front definitely looks good, the back however....yuck....also the UK is in Europe Rebecca....
Can you review Subaru Legacy
Why has Lancia stopped in the UK?
they still had the bad reputation from cars rosting down in rainy weather
the 1.9 biturbo diesel is very cheap now, and i test drive the car but 2 turbos in diesel i dont know... more problems??? but the interiors are crap.. cheap/hard plastic and low quality like a renaut clio inteior... maby i go instead for a Alfa 159 2.4
alfa 147 owner.
turn on the caption and enjoy :D

Diesel is only bad for the environment if the car doesn't have a filter
You say to go for the diesel yet say its harsh at high speeds hmmm no thanks
Quality - Price is more that you get for, BUT you can't compare this with Golf. Its waaaaay out of its league. Is this an Alfa Guiletta knockoff ?
Please review Toyota GT-86!
This is ITALIAN CAR!!!
why would this be branded as a chrysler, no-one in the uk wants a chrysler and why can't good lancias be made nowadays like the ones of the 80s and 90s?
the headlights looks completely the same as the c-class
the side profile looks a bit like the old Nissan Murano.
