The Chrysler Ypsilon is a five-door hatchback designed to compete with the Volkswagen Polo, Fiat 500 and Ford Fiesta. Despite an eye-catching appearance and unique interior styling the Ypsilon falls short of the competition once behind the wheel and is expensive to buy. Interior materials also feel cheap when compared to rivals. - Авто та транспорт
I think this is one of the best Rebecca's reviews, she really seems to be comfortable and confident doing it. Well done!
Brilliant review Rebecca! Just brilliant! This is the first one that made me comment any carbuyer video so far
I'd consider these new Lancias if they just bloody badged them as Lancias, it's a much cooler company than bloody Chrysler, especially in Europe.
Chrysler is the original Lancia is badging chryslers as their own
they still think - bizarrely - people remember the scandal about the engine on betas rusting out in the late 70s. but people still remember the 1980s jokes about skodas being shit and it doesnt seem to have affected skoda too much
too late now, i guess.
@@Lololol24LA Not true. Ypsilon was alway's a Lancia product. I drive a 2000 Ypsilon 1.2 16v. Great car, great mileage, good for all day driving and in it's time, a very good car considering the competition.
I wish this was the car was the one that made it to the US, not the 500. As retro as the 500 is, Americans would prefer the Chrysler/Lancia Y because it’s bigger.
Best review you have done, Rebecca. Much more smooth and relax, good work, and keep them coming. :)
Rebecca's just getting better and better! Nice review!
Rebecca, I can honestly say this has been your best video to date :-) Glad to see their getting better..
They're...
This is a Superb, Fantastic & 100 marks review! Rebecca! Love this lively, confident presentation :D
Really Like this video. Rebecca its great to see that you have listened to the moaners of the youtube world when then have complained about previous videos and taken on board their comments.
Personally I have to say this but that is the best review yet. :)
Good job Rebecca! I think this is your best review yet :)
Does this car have enough storage space to hold 4 suitcases with 4 people sitting aswell
Lovely! She is getting better...
She's getting better!
Where do you guys film all your reviews?
First fun review from Rebecca, gratz! :)
Great review. What a crazy little car!
Good review. She was confident and natural in speech and gestures. She's got the hang of it....
I thought this woman forgot about carbuyer's trademark tests until she left the bottle test and rear seat tests for last. I can sleep well tonight. Good job.
Wow I ve just watched this review a second time, and I found lots of Mat's style in it. Haha. Won't be surprise if Mat did the script & directed thid vid.
Still, Rebecca gave a whole new, enjoyable experience to watching Carbuyer's review :)
How do I connect a Chrysler Ypsilson to my phone via bluetooth
Really great review!
Excellent review. Keep it up
For the first time, I really liked here car review and I didn't miss Mat that much ;)
Would the 1.2 SE in incurance group 4 make a good first car???
Superdsheppard mine is good I like it
Is this supposed to be the PT Criuser #2?
can anyone help me whats the colour code of chrysler ypsilon black and white please
Much better review. She's getting into the hang of things.
well done rebecca, you nailed it !!
I love this car, it's so much more interesting than other stuff out there even if it's not very good, at all.
Somehow, by failing at doing all the things that most cars do well, it accentuates the things which it does better than all the rest. You have to look at it as you would a classic car; of course it's rubbish by modern standards but brilliant if you can appreciate what is good about it. Like a dangerous pet or leather trousers.
I like the Carbuyer reviews, even Rebeca is doing an good job. I don't agree that its important to be able to fit a big 1.5l water bottle in the front if you would drink that amount of water, the rest of the trip will be looking for clean wc´s. Coffee mug holders is more importent for the open coke cans and hot coffee.
She is getting better
great review!!
Why compare road holding to a ford fiesta when it uses the same platform as the ford Ka...?
piattaforma PANDA!
WTF! Where are the Lancia’ badges?!
Nel Regno Unito e in Irlanda le Lancia Delta e Ypsilon sono vendute con il marchio Chrysler.
She said many bad points, but she looked very excited, I mean, when she drove that little wonder, so I'd like to have one! Very, very nice review, Rebecca!
Well sort of, in the UK when we pay our water bill it also includes a charge for the draining of water which may fall as rain onto the roof of your house. The taxes are a way of encouraging lower emission vehicles. A stark contrast to vehicles in the US that's for sure.
good one ...i'm starting to like ur reviews ;)
finally rebecca did it...nice review...
Have people stopped asking for Mat yet? Good review.
Ok I just noticed that this is a Chrysler and I didn't know they sold the Lancia as a Chrysler in UK but it's still the same thing.
Pretty good review overall. The only thing I would say is that the whole "poor quality gauge cluster surround" issue really doesn't seem to be much of a problem - realistically it wouldn't be subjected to such treatment, unless the driver really felt the need to attempt to break bits of their own car. Also, I doubt that big bottle would fit anywhere in the cabin of many other small cars. I freely admit this car is not as accomplished as some of its rivals, but at least it is not afraid to be different. And that is something which seems to go unappreciated all too often here - I see it with Infiniti and Lexus as well - still nowhere near competitive with Audi or Mercedes-Benz sales, and yet they are making more competitive products than at any time in their past - all because they don't display the "right" badge on the front. I like cars that make me happy, not cars with badges that make other people happy, and so while I appreciate this car may be divisive, and understand if people dislike the looks, I urge you not to prevent others from liking the car - looks are ultimately still only subjective and what one person loves, another may hate. I give credit to BMW for making their i3 look completely different to anything else on the road, also to Toyota for their bold new design direction. Polarizing they may be, but at least they aren't boring.
Andy T 001 my dad has theChrysler not the BMW he doesn't go I don't like the I had a good old tap on it and it's just a bit flexible an less you grab a hammer
Epic Mods_253 That sounds like a fair summary from somebody with experience of the car.
Andy T 001 I know
She's probably only has it for 2 days not 1 year
That is one of the biggest problems with reviews like this - they frequently don't take into account what the long term ownership experience is like, only what the reviewer notices in a couple of days with the car. Interior material quality is therefore given a greater focus than long term reliability, which isn't exactly useful for the consumer.
I admit, Rebecca has stuck around and she's really looking like a natural now!!! Great job Rebecca!
Just release another integrale
@Selim Sultan Akbar says you
Lancia is dead...
its also branded in europe as a lancia ypsilon, as well as the delta.
I am looking forward to buy my first car. I think it's not bad. Low tax and good insurance category.
Just do service for this car is more expensive than for example ford, or honda etc?
Lots of people don't like how it looka like but we all the different. I think more important is not just overall but inside (motor, material quality, service, runing costs)
good review
thats your best review!
i've driven my wife's , and i can say they are a bit gutless when pulling out onto a main road ,which is little scary. the drinks holders don't fit anything ,cans are just too wide , also not the most comfort for passengers sitting in the back , but cheap as chips to run and buy , if your just looking for a small car for in town, that's cheap on tax £30 a year ,economical and different from the rest .its actually worth looking at
Do you know service still be expensive for the car if something will broke? I am looking to buy my first car
@@prikoljnaja if you go to a main dealer .Yes i think expensive , if you can do a service yourself ,oil water etc no.main dealers will rip you off
UPDATE we are buying another Ypsilon but a 2013 red and black SE version at £2395 with a 12month mot its a bargain and only 65000 miles , so il do a review on it ,as soon as i get it,
after driving my wife's on and off for a couple of years, you become accustomed to it ,and you dont see many on the road ,Which is good ,everyone seems to have a Mini or a Fiat 500
so its good to be different, and as i will only use it for about 8 months whilst waiting on a new car order ,ive already lined up a potential buyer for the Ypsilon ,my niece when she passes her driving test ,so a win all-round
Interesting choice to sell the Lancia Ypsilon under the Chrysler brand in the UK.
Given Lancias reputation for reliability though understandable.
EXCELLENT REVIEW! Very well done! now on the other hand, that car looks like a PT Cruiser, though im not sure if PT Cruisers were sold in Europe
They also have PT Cruiser in Europe (Euro Spec)
This car was inspired by the 2008 Lancia/Chrysler Delta, which was the production version of the 2003 Lancia Stilnovo Concept. These cars were designed before the Fiat-Chrysler merger (2009) and any resemblance with the Chrysler PT Cruiser is not intentional.
Loved how she mentioned that the seats were moved backwards to that of someone like Matt, proves that they listen to the comments.
Well, I've owned an 04 polo, verdict - boring to look at boring to drive, yet it has great reviews. Sister has an 06 Clio, verdict - too common but the reliability problems don't stop it being a success, and my mum owns a 03 Mini Cooper - verdict - too popular, it wasn't when we bought ours and all Mini drivers flashed their headlights at each other because you were part of some new enthusiast club as it was 'so rare and interesting'. I think if the marketing changed it might have a chance.
Save Lancia !
The Lancia name was only used on left hand drive models. The Chrysler name was used on right hand drive models
where is the lancia badge gone how come has it been renamed into a chrysler ?
Nothing quite like it? Do I hear a DS3? Sure, it's a bit more expensive but if you really really want to stand out, it's worth it. If not, there's tons of better options in the price range.
Of course but when General Motors sign an accord with Fiat Group the one have the models of second and viceversa. :) in UK the Lancia is called Chrysler
Good review! Keep doing more like this and you'll be a favorite in no time! =)
Wtf happened to Lanica... Honestly
@Selim Sultan Akbar says you
It can be a Lancia or Chrysler
Where are you LANCIA!!!miss you :(
nice job Rebecca
It stands out for the same reason the PT Cryser does... it makes people blow chunks.
Doesn't she has another jacket?
Wow wee Rebecca is really getting into her stride now with these reviews! This is very good, which means instead of concentrating on what was a few settling in quirks we can concentrate on her smouldering good looks!!!! Lol!
Wow there is a door there? Wasn't expecting that.
Welcome :)
You say it looks like nothing else on the road, but I can't help seeing a lot of Citroen C3 in it
Rebecca you are wrong, This car is the Lancia Ypsilon they just changed the badge and put the Chrysler badge instead, and the lancia is based on the Fiat mini platform which is the Fiat Panda, not the new one but the old one.
Is it just me that likes the styling of this car? Ok it's a lady's car but really at least it's different from everything else. Am I living in a country where everyone and everything HAS to be the same??
Small Lancia supermini badged as a Chrysler based on a stretched Fiat 500 platform, with ample room for four people, tall adults of 6ft won't like it in the back as it is cramped especially if the front seats are pushed back.
The description will tell you.
objection miss! this car is not to compete with fiesta or polo. it is basically jumped-up fiat panda, therefore the closest competitors are the 5 door triplets: vw up!, skoda citigo, seat mii or another siblings: pug 107, toyota aygo and citroen c1. ford doesn't have any 5 door mini, they have only 3 door ka, yet another derivate of panda. fiesta is one class above and the new b-max is a lot bigger than lancia/chrysler ypsilon.
Completely and totally agreed! Thumbs up! :)
lancia ypsilon is european and it is a mini not a supermini.
These seats are in average sized adult position.Probably some like Mat size.
Hmmm,you finally realised your mistake.
I love you!!!
I'd get the lancer YPSILON
Quasimodo springs to mind
looks best in Lancia grill, looks like PT Cruiser in renaissance with Chrysler grill
The biggest flaw with the Chrysler Ypsilon is that it isn’t wearing Lancia badges instead of Chrysler badges.
Reminds me of pt cruiser in the US
It is a Lancia
Miguel Cardoso yes
No. It's a Fiat 500 with different body panels
Or Chrysler
It has the shape of the Chrysler pt cruiser
ok I think I'm in love...
The only reason why you would have the rev counter and speedometer in the middle of the center console is if you enjoy being shout at by your mother(-in-law or not) from the rear set when you are doing 65 kph on the motorway... SLOW DOWN, ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US ALL KILLED?
Great review anyhow Rebecca
you should by the lancia version !
I agree and I'm English. I don't know what has happened. Is probably the main reason we don't have a car industry anymore because people just want to be the same as each other and buy BMW's and Audis.
If you read the review on their site you will see it scored a "grand" total of 2,5 stars out of a possible 5.
And while I applaud Rebecca for her good work, I would not buy this car. Not a fan of it's looks, and the video review just underscored the opinion the written review had already built for me of it.
Mark my words, I am going to marry this woman. Only person that can get me to watch reviews of cars I am not interested in.
"the 900cc turbo petrol", wow. Amazing how technology advances, at the beginning of the car era, you had engines with enormous displacements and low HP outputs, and nowadays you have the opposite.
Thanks. :-D
whats a badge swap gonna do to make it seem ugly then.
Same here...
To be honest, first time i see the car is like 🤢🤢
It's because Lancia pulled out of the UK market sometime ago and people were very glad to see the back of them. People still remember the cars that Lancia offered back then and would associate them with current Lancias so they'd not have a chance in hell of selling any here. Even with the Chrysler badge on it, not many Ypsilons or Deltas have been sold. This overall is a very poor attempt by Chrysler to expand thier UK market
Just when you think car manufacturers are running out of stupid names for cars, someone appears and suprises us again...
1:45 nice Maserati ;)
1:45 yes it beautiful
based on Fiat Panda??? it's Lancia Y
1:02 It looks like a PT-cruiser from far away.
Remember when Top Gear called this an archeological dig? Chrysler Ypsilon > Lancia Ypsilon > Fiat 500 > Fiat Panda.
Also, it sort of looks like a Ped-Egg on wheels, and that rear headroom would make midgets feel like Gandalf in Frodo's house.
1:45 nice ford transit :)
I don't know about other European countries, but the PT Cruiser was actually sold in the UK :-/
Yes, it was
