One of my favorite things is the lyric "If you have children some day, tell 'em my name." And then you see pictures of parents who took pix with Taylor as a 'child' and then they show a pix of them as an adult with THEIR child, and Taylor. These people grew up with Taylor, and now their children are as well - proving she is a multigenerational artist, not just an icon for young girls.
yes and I also love the following line 2tell them *I hope they shine*" so right from the start she is wishing the best not only to her "first fans" but also to their future children... which to me is sweet.
My Son turning 10 this week is a Reputation Swifty, I did something bad is his favourite. I need her to rerecord Rep because he has scratched my cd because hes played it so much 🤣
I'm a 65 year old single father who has been to 4 TS concerts with my daughter and will be at the Eras Tour in 4 weeks in Sydney. This is in my Top 3 songs of hers (hard list to make), but the bridge breaks me every time. My daughter had her first child a month ago, a girl. Our love of TS will be passed on to her for sure. I hope all three of us can attend a TS concert together one day. I already purchased the 'The Little Golden Book of Taylor Swift' for her. TS has been a wonderful role model for my daughter growing up.
The line.... "If you have children some day When they point to the pictures Please tell them my name" I'm 37 and grew up from young adulthood listening to her. I am so happy to say that I was able to take my then 5yr old to the reputation tour and now that she is turning 10, to the era's tour. I think it's very nostalgic for those who grew up with her.
My daughter turns 10 just a few weeks before we're set to see her in Arlington. I can't wait to see all of the pictures of OG fans with their own kids at these concerts. I've been to a lot of shows (none Taylor), but none of them mean even half as much as this one will. I can't wait to see my daughter and nieces screaming their hearts out to songs I grew up listening to. 🖤
This song never fails to make me emotional. I was 14 when she released her first single, Tim McGraw. Her songs helped me through my first puppy love heartbreak, an abusive relationship, my one soul-crushing heartbreak, and difficult times in my marriage. I would quietly sing Never Grow Up to my babies at night, rocking them to sleep. She released Shake It Off when my daughter was a year old, and it was her favorite song for YEARS. So many memories of her dancing around the living room to the song, mimicking her dances in the video, singing unintelligible babble (then lyrics as she got older) into a wooden spatula. Her music helped me through the loss of my brother and both grandmothers. So many major, life-changing and defining moments were experienced with her music in the background, guiding me or helping me process my own emotions. Now, on March 31st, I'm taking my 9 year old daughter and teenage nieces to our first Taylor Swift concert with my own mom and sister. It's a full circle moment, and I so hope she performs Long Live.
The reality is, that song was special from the beginning to the fans because it was sort of her way of saying "out loud" if you will "who knows how much time I will get to do this. but what WE have accomplished so far because of YOU surpasses any expectations I had". now all these years later after all the dramas that she and her fans have had to endure, the song has become much deeper in meaning than the first time around... because for a while there we DID think that it was over, that we would only have the pictures and memories. but she came back stronger than ever and in no small measure thanks to the fans that stuck by her and proved to her that no matter what people/media said they loved her and supported her. so she felt the power to go out again and keep on writing and singing... hence why we have: *reputation. lover, folklore, evermore, midnights* and let's not forget *fearless (Taylor's version) and red (Taylor's version)* so far. I know is a joke in the fandom "we could accomplish anything we set our minds to" but it has more than been proven that swifties would move heaven and earth for this woman *(deservedly so)* I guess I could be biased since I am a swiftie and have been since 2008 so yes I understand when you say YOU do not feel a personal connection to the song as much as WE do, and that is fine it does not diminish the emotion/feeling/memories it gives US.
All those older parents you saw with their teenagers are now Grandparents, and those teens are the mom's taking their children and their mom's with them to the Eras tour. ❤ Taylor still has most of the same band members, backing vocalists, and some of the same dancers today. She's extremely loyal, and loved by her swifties. Me being one of them. Thanks for this reaction.
This song has a special meaning to all the og fans. I mean, do you know of any other artist who wrote a song about their fans? So, Ryan I can see you're becoming a swiftie. 😍 Thank you gents.
Actually, a Japanese all-female rock band I follow called Band Maid wrote 3 songs for their fans 😊 But Long Live will always be the greatest love song written by any artist for their fans ❤
she wrote this song specifically for her band & her fans, i.e swifties..she's gone thro a period of performing as an opening act for some of the biggest names in country music for few years b4 she finally got her chance to headline.. & this song bears her fondest memories of her fans & her increadible band (the Agency) on her first ever headline, the massively sold out Fearless Tour.. & as an og swifties, it is my fondest memories remembering that on my every Taylor Swift concerts that i went, the crowd never fails to screaming wild when she appears & that earpiercing sounds continues throughout the whole concerts.. 😊😊😊😊😊
she wrote a lot of catchy songs, and she's smart, strong, down to earth, I really respect her for that, forget if she has haters, everyone has haters, no one is perfect, but there's no denying that she's a great and true artist and deserve everything she earned. 🙏
I was happy with the reaction from the guy on the left, but really surprised by the reaction by the guy on the right especially after relating to the romantic remarks and what not. Anyhow this left me in tears because she had no idea what was ahead and it just showed how appreciative she was for where she was at in her life and she knew she put in the work but she also knew the fans make it or break it.
If someone (Nathan?) wants an updated (millennial/generational) version of Romanticism (yes, Shelley, Byron, etc) and that way of seeing/facing life, the song is "New Romantics" from 1989 (deluxe version). ;-) Really underrated lyrics.
I remember this day very clearly, and the song always hits. I was literally 6 years old during this concert (spear now tour) and it was just an amazing experience.
I wasn´t a fan at this time (I became more of a Swiftie kind by accident on the hiatus between 1989 and Reputation not knnowing a single thing about the drama, the exes or Kanye or watherver, when accidentally stumbled upon Red, All too well, and a few other songs... and started fallling down the rabbit hole. Reputation, Folklore, Evermore and now Midnights just... made it for me. She is up there at my top favourites right now -my number 1 will allways be Queen, I think, but hey-). But is easy to understand why so many people feel so touched by this song: she dedicated it to the fans, says "we" did this together, "we" moved mountains... and maybe I won´t be able to stay at the top ("fate"), or even doing here much longer, or as long as I want, but if I´m not... tell your children about "us". Tell them my name, tell them what we did, tell them I had the time of my life fighting dragons "with you". I mean... It´s a beautifull/wonderfull homage. Even more from a such young artist on her first solo tour with her new shinning band, The Agency (not so new now, but still there, and bigger). Also, sorry for the typos, English is not my first language and between the fact that I write very quickly and the corrector on my mobile goes nuts... I tend to mess up.
Im not ready for this " speak now TS ver" is on the way , and I will prepare a box of tissue this time. This song is really special to her and also for us who supports and loved her all the way. Thank you for dpin this reaction.
im going to her Eras tour and i really hope she sings this song and it would be so amazing and emotional for me if she does sing it especially is she chooses to do it for the closer i love this song so much and it gets me every time when i hear it live
I don't know why but I get teared up thinking about Long live (tv). I am fan since 2018 so not that long but it still makes me emotional. Speak now is my fav album so impatiently waiting for taylor's version
this was already one of my fav songs from her, but last year at my graduation day when this started playing i almost died. only god and i know how hard it was to keep going when i became a widow all of a sudden and my friends fucking saved my fucking life cause i was done. hearing “i had the time of my life fighting dragons with you” alongside my best friend just after the last 4 years we’ve had together and all the mountains we had to move to finally make it… now we’re both going together to the eras in november and i already CRY just thinking about it imagine being there 😭😭😭 this one hurts but it also heals.
There’s a good chance that she might close the show with Long Live on the Era’s tour 🤗 ✨ Hoping you both manage to get tickets to the tour somehow, it will be an unforgettable experience!!
This song always reminds me of a mixture of The Pretender by Jackson Browne and also his song The Load Out about his stage crew and fans. I’m not an OG Swiftie so I don’t always have love for her early songs and albums but this one is gold. This performance really made me weep. She was so young yet so aware and humble.
I just get teary eyed every time I get across this Long Live video. I've been listening to her for about 15 years now. Long Live will really crushed us all if she'd include is on The Eras Tour, which she should. 😁
Off topic but swifties, mother Tay gave us an assignment: to lower the price of eggs. So how could we accomplish this? Increase the supply of eggs? Lower the demand of eggs? Any thoughts?
I prefer the performance with the piano on Rep Tour… I just prefer the piano for this song and her mature voice. But it’s a wonderful song however she plays it.
I’ve been with Taylor since 2007 so I’ve been around for all eras, Fearless was my first Taylor release that I got to live through. A lot of the old eras content makes me cry in a happy way, it brings me back. 🥹

I always tear up when I see SWIFTIES who have kids and they are enjoying Taylor's music!!! We really will pass her legacy on to our generations 💖
yes and I also love the following line 2tell them *I hope they shine*" so right from the start she is wishing the best not only to her "first fans" but also to their future children... which to me is sweet.

@@_FruityPebble my daughter turns 10, 4 days after the concert here in AZ. It will be amazing and something the girls will never forget!
Fan since debut and getting to go to my first concert ever and it's taylor and taking my 14 yr old daughter. Just unreal!
The Best Fan dedicated Song ..Ever !!!!!!!!!
I cried watching this lol. Like many of us grew up with her and just seeing how far she came is amazing.
Same. 🥹
I was literally sobbing haha

We did 3 generation concerts. None of you will ever forget those. Hold on to precious memories
I got choked up watching her. It left a lump in my throat. It hit me as to how young she was. She’s remarkable

And reminds me of when she won entertainer of the year in 2009, up against legends, and brought her band up. So that’s what it is for me 🥰
That song always make me teary-eyed .. Long Live T.S.!❤️

You guys should watch her performing this on the eras tour now. Watching how far she’s come and how nostalgic it is for them. It’s incredible
Ever since I went to a Taylor Swift concert, this song brings me to tears - Just absolutely in love singing & sobbing madly.

Truly Long Live is special no matter when you became a fan.
If you were a fan since Tim McGraw or antihero, this applies to you. You are part of the family no matter what

This song always makes me cry. I love her so much. ❤
Lol oh man this is our own personal song!! #Swifties liiiive
This is our anthem.
I always tear up feeling this.
I'm pretty sure that Webster's New Edition coming out next year will include their new favorite slang word, "necticle." It just seems right.
Man I can’t wait for your reaction to speak now.
Check out The Lakes if you want her take on romantic period poets
She has a song called We’re the New Romantics…. Of course there was a New Romantics movement in UK last century
Off topic but swifties, mother Tay gave us an assignment: to lower the price of eggs. So how could we accomplish this?
Increase the supply of eggs?

She also write for other artists.
you should watch the music video! bunch of fan clips
Long live, which one makes more sense ? 😂
