Awesome! I would have liked to have seen a small fuel bottle and an ignitions source in the box as well.

A simplier version based on meatmangary using the large tin with carbaon felt inside and still use you tripod and avoid making the small one. Burn off all that is in the big tin and then you can safely store it in a plastic bag. I plan on doing that.

Doug Ramsey That sounds like a great idea, let me know how that works out. Thanks for watching

I will decline on using the carbon felt too expensive for the little I would but will use home insulation instead just as a test.

Doug Ramsey Well actually the home insulation works fairly well, but i have since made a another burner from a small tin, but instead of making a large hole, I drilled very small holes in the lid and filled the interior with the wick material from a tiki lamp. Also in the center of the lid I drilled a larger hole to facilitate filling the burner with alcohol.
This setup works much better, and burns longer. When I get a chance, I will try to get a video update done for the new burner. Thanks for commenting, and thanks for wathching.

Thanks for the comment. I have done a burn test video, but I haven't got a chance to upload it yet :)
I will get it up as soon as possible.
    Thanks for watching!!

Lewanda Edward Actually I did a burn test / demonstration video after it was built. I will try to remember to put a link to that video in the description, and also maybe I can figure out how to add a link in the video as well

first video I've seen from your channel. I enjoyed. I've been looking to expand my skills and subbing you channel can help expand my knowledge base. Not only my knowledge base but hope to expose my channel to a broader group of people as well. that altoids stove looks nice. I have several small stoves but not an altoids one, yet. BBB

Clever, but you didn't demonstrate it. I think it would perform quite poorly for a number of reasons.

I appreciate the video, but, you guys do know you can get an ESBIT on EBAY for $ 10, RIGHT? I like Altoids boxes too, but really? Too much trouble.

+John Longo If you are not a "do-it-yourself" kind of guy, you would never understand the satisfaction that comes from completing a project that took a few minutes, versus spending $10 to own one. There is a difference.
