Did you see in the home of Ethan and Mia, all the mirrors are covered. I'd say Miranda covered them because you would be able to see her true self in them.
If Rose has some of Eveline's memories then in a way Eveline got the loving family she wanted without having to force it like she tried to in 7. Rose might have to struggle against becoming like Eveline.
To be honest even tho Evelin did do all those bad things but you have to feel sorry for her. Her twisted warped mind came from what her life was up to the point of resident evil 7 and Rose's mom isn't a saint either.

She may very well be that same child, who was perpetually unhappy with her "fake" family and desperately wanted a real one. Who was trapped in a withering body, and needed a new one. I mean, isn't it curious how Rose is absolutely everything that Eveline wanted to be? Maybe that's not a coincidence. Maybe that was the plan from the very beginning...
Rose seems like a highly intelligent baby, like she understands what’s happening and that her dad is leaving her forever. It’s almost as if she can sense his love and sacrifice for her.
So, this is my guess; I think Rose IS the megamycete now! The ritual didn’t work because it wasn’t intended to turn Rose into Eva... it was intended to turn Rose into a full copy, human form of the megamycete; and in that sense the ritual worked just as the megamycete intended... It tricked Miranda for 100 years into doing its bidding. She thought she could control the mold, but it was just using her to be able to spread and so she could find the perfect vessel for its human form. Now that it is in a human form, “She will grow to fully control the masses” (This is just my theory anyways lol; but if you think about it, it makes sense)
I mean it makes sense I wouldn't be surprised if the mold told Miranda to come and find it and doing so it saw an opportunity to become human so all this time Miranda thought she was controlling the molded but in reality it was controlling her. The dark god below the village

I think Miranda’s powers wernt absorbed, but resurecting rose spent her powers, which is why they were leaving her. Then she took rose and used HER power to try and defeat Ethan
I’m of the belief that Ethan *IS* with Rose, in general. Just like how it’s Evelyn who tells Ethan about the stark realization of his scenario- Ethan will be a part of Rose & be able to converse with her, seeing as the Megamycete *DOES* catalog people’s collective memories & the pure consciousness, it’s NOT outside the realm of possibility that “talking” to (the ability to talk with) her father IS a legit skill of hers... That’s why we see Ethan approaching the car as the game ends...
Also, just like how Jack Baker is able to sit & converse with Ethan in his head. When Jack is explaining how they were victims & how Evelyn just “wants a family of her own”. So we DO know that the deceased CAN converse to the living SOME HOW through the powers of the mold.
I thought that too. I found it too odd that otherwise she would have such a connection to her "dead" father, since (normally) no one would have memories of a parent they last met at six months old.

Ethan’s fate is so heartbreaking and touching that even I, someone who only got into the Resident Evil series because of Lady Dimitrescu, will cry everytime I watch it.
Ethan is pretty tragic, in RE7 he risked his life, literally, to save Mia's life and ofc asked Chris to save Zoe baker. And for RE8 he went through hell to save his daughter from the four lords and mother Miranda.

I think so too. Realistically, that is a hard unbelievable thing to have to tell one's husband! It doesn't just come up in casual conversation! I feel pity for Mia; she suffered a lot from this too, and something tells me she didn't want or expect all this to happen.

Last I knew from Resident Evil 6, there were starting to be quite a few children (they’d grown up by that game) who have bioweapons in their physiology. I wonder if they’re still are still around. I wonder if there’s a organization gathering them now.
I don't believe Ethan is totally gone and I think this is indirectly given away by the choice of still not revealing his face. Since he has a partial face model in the data files, I imagine they were planning on revealing it in the ending, but then stopped development on that when they planned out their future DLC. It's my speculation that they are going to use Ethan's face for a character claiming to be someone else but then is revealed to be Ethan. How they go about that seems tricky as Mia and Chris know what Ethan looks like and I'm sure Rose knows from seeing photos, but it's not the characters that are in the dark when it comes to his likeness. We are. So, there can be a situation where these characters know who he really is and is in on the charade then it's more of a revelation to the audience as the plot folds out. I just don't see why they would continue to hide his face when his story has supposedly ended. His story has ended, but that doesn't mean he will be excluded from his daughter's story.
You're right that he may not be dead, although I don't think that's likely. Saying "The Father's story is done" doesn't necessarily mean he's dead/gone, it could just as easily mean that he won't be a protagonist/playable character anymore. I just think it's more likely that he's in her head in some capacity rather then still physically present.

It could also be her feeling bad for snapping a bit at her being called Eveline bit which is understandable because she likely doesn't like the idea that she has a lot in common with someone like Eveline as well as the Four Lords in RE8. It's a scary thought for her in many ways.

Here's my theory. Everyone says that Rose will never had the memories of his father because the Megamycete which is like a storage of memories was already destroyed but I think Rose is the new Megamycete. If you will analyze more mother Miranda failed to bring Eva and her powers was sucked by Rose so I believe she is now the new host of the Megamycete which means that she is the most powerful Bow alive right now. This is just my opinion
I think that the giant freakish baby was a manifestation of Mias fears about any future children she may have with Ethan. Ethan makes references to Rose being the baby the never thought they would have and I think it means that Mia had one or more miscarriages before Rose was born. Like Ethans now moldy genes just couldn’t create a viable person until the genetics were at a perfect balance with Rose

I think it’s possible Chris might be a playable character again in re9, we hear him saying somebody’s gotta pay for ethans death, and I think it makes sense for us to play as him infiltrating the bsaa to find out why they sent bioweapons. Weather it will be a flash back or a section who knows but I think it’s very possible
I wouldn't think Mia is infected anymore since canonically, she's the one that gets the cure in RE7. Not Zoe. Which is why I thought it was mega weird she was barely reacting to getting shot 100 times lol.

@@ThePokefreak98 It's so there's no clipping issues with the first person camera. SInce there's a camera where Ethan's eyes are to allow for the first person view, leaving the head on the model would cause some of it to clip in front of the camera
@@titus4440 his character model Does have a head it just impossible to see it cuz it was made invisible to us (the players)so the camera does not clip but if you use commands/hacks you can actually make his head model appear
2:14 I guess Mia already knew the secrets and she doesn't want Ethan to know it. So we need to collect some clues in the future Resident Evil series. I think RE9 to the playable Rose after a decade of her teenage year will find out that hidden lores.
Hey small contribution to the discussion, but, without bringing Miranda’s resilience and longevity into consideration, the way that [Mia] barely reacted to the first shot through her shoulder was actually very realistic. A person of experience and reputation once said “It’s not the impact of the bullet that knocks you down, it’s your reaction to the bullet’s impact that knocks you down.” So with [miranda] Mia shrugging off that first shot to the shoulder, it’s actually quite realistic to how someone reacts to ballistic impact.
It depends on how the bullet goes through the body and it's size. If it doesn't deform and passes through, it transfers little energy. Same if the bullet is small, but even a small one, if it is stopped in the body would have and leave at least the same energy as a reasonably heavy punch. If those bullets were of small caliber and the first one passed through widout hitting any bone, that reaction would be possible, but it doesn't mean that's always possible.
@shin jinyi. For the head, this can actually be explained relatively easily. When doing first person games, the head is usually removed so that the camera isn't obstructed. If the head was actually there, well, think the nightmare fuel facial glitches in Assassin's Creed Unity, but right in your face and backwards.

It's more a reminder that Rose isn't supposed to eat this. - Babys can't process raw honey or shrooms(or raw food in general) and it can be bad for a baby to eat honey bc it can give them something called botulism, which can be lethal.

Well if you think about it, Ethan in RE7 did talk with Jack baker in the.. well in the mold which if Rose did inherent Eveline's powers Rose could technically talk to her dad, but idk if she is aware of that yet since we haven't really seen what Rose could do
I predict that she will have some supernatural interaction with him in the future. She probably has some of the datastorage of the megamycete, and since a copy of his "Soul " or engrammatic imprint of his mind and personality was absorbed by the molds weird hivemind thing, she could have that data saved into her somehow. If she gets powerful enough to just summon molded, and imprint thought into them, she could make a copy of him.
I think that when rose was put back together, she immediately begun absorbing the information and overall power of the mold. Evidenced by how as soon as maranda pulled her out she instantly began to weaken. This could also be the reason why ethen dies after defeating maranda, after all he's defeated everything in his path up to this point but this crow b*tch is the one to do him in? Nuh uh.

That Rose's Consciousness, was still semi-active even when sectioned up, and therefor, she was able to, through the megamycete influence him just a little bit. Stabalize his failing mold body just a little bit. That being heartless hould have killed even him, but she kept that from happening. And when he finally gets her back she is essentially like "Okay daddy, you can rest"
I think it's more they're scared of what she's capable of, and they have people on hand ready to kill her if they think she's about to turn into a danger to other people. Although whether or not they'd actually be *able* to kill her I have no idea. So I guess for now she's useful to them but they're also acutely aware of just how dangerous and powerful she can be. Especially if she does have the ability to infect and create an army of molded like Miranda seemed to imply.
Very true, but I gotta give major points to the agents comment "she's just a kid" when responding to the sniper. If they don't treat her like a person (because she is one) it'll end up being a self fulfilling prophecy.

Its possible that Rose can see/remember Ethan's memories due to the mold, since the mold does store memories as mentioned in the game. Thus why she was so fond of her father, running away from captivity just to give flowers on his birthday. Even if she couldn't have known him personally, since he died when she was just a baby. Also her response to the agent gives a hint to that. Agent: "You are a lot like him you know?" Rose: "I know"

In the scene where Miranda crushes his heart and drinks his blood, she said that he will be part of the Megamycte. We know that some part of the victims are stuck in a limbo and Miranda knows about their knowledge. So.. is it safe to assume that Rose still talks to her dad subconsciously? It would make the last scene a bit more sad, thinking how he's looking after her and replying to her words.
What if Miranda's ceremony worked in a way and Rose was affected by the essence of Eva? When Miranda first takes Rose out of the mold altar she refers to the child as "My Eva" and seems to recognize her. I also saw the odd angry outburst of Rose to the secret agent as eerily similar to Mia's snap at Ethan early into the game, when she was actually Miranda. Also the outburst was at a joke calling Rose Evelyn, another creation of Miranda's. Could Rose be aware of the influence of a second personality within her, that being Eva?
He probably can speak to her, and she can hear him. The same way that Miranda knew her daughter was in the Megamycete and was attempting to remake Rose into her. Rose now has signs from all branches of the mold/Megamycete, from Ethan and Evelyn to the (for lack of better terminology and safety) Reforging at the end of Village, she now has control of the mold, and can manage some of it's effects. She said, "things even Chris doesn't know", and that would imply that she has some deeper fusion of the Mold's mind warping and the Megamycete's genetic rewriting abilities. Modification of certain aspects, such as defensive, and strength enhancement. To be fair, though, she may not have complete control of these abilities. Hence, her getting "tested"
They'd almost have too, at this point all the main characters are getting to be Berry's age as of Revelations which, if I remember correctly, was in his mid 60's. They be too old to be super soldiers anymore. lol Sadly, that'd leave Moira out as the "fully human" one since Sherry, Jake, and Rose would all have some form of bio powers.
I'm more curious of how they'll handle the survival horror elements in the next game with Rose as the protagonist, if she will be one. By now we all know she'll at least have some of Ethan's regenrative powers so expect limb reattachment. Other cool powers would be the one from Siren where you can see through the eyes of enemies. Maybe she can see through the eyes of mold based enemies? It's really exciting tobsee where things are headed.
I don't know. Sherry had High-Speed Regeneration as shown in RE6 but other then that one cutscene nothing was done with it. I think it'd be amazing if you actually had powers to work with, but I feel like even if they did give her powers they'd only be used in cutscenes and/or puzzles, but not combat.
@ 9:32 you see Mother Miranda break character as Mia when Ethan mentions he's been going through military training. She has this annoyed look like she is not only upset to have discovered Ethan's potential to cause problems as well as annoyance that he won't change the subject

So, this is my guess; I think Rose IS the megamycete now! The ritual didn’t work because it wasn’t intended to turn Rose into Eva... it was intended to turn Rose into a full copy, human form of the megamycete; and in that sense the ritual worked just as the megamycete intended... It tricked Miranda for 100 years into doing its bidding. She thought she could control the mold, but it was just using her to be able to spread and so she could find the perfect vessel for its human form. Now that it is in a human form, “She will grow to fully control the masses” (This is just my theory anyways lol; but if you think about it, it makes sense)

Just like how it’s Evelyn who tells Ethan about the stark realization of his scenario- Ethan will be a part of Rose & be able to converse with her, seeing as the Megamycete *DOES* catalog people’s collective memories & the pure consciousness, it’s NOT outside the realm of possibility that “talking” to (the ability to talk with) her father IS a legit skill of hers...
That’s why we see Ethan approaching the car as the game ends...
Also, just like how Jack Baker is able to sit & converse with Ethan in his head. When Jack is explaining how they were victims & how Evelyn just “wants a family of her own”. So we DO know that the deceased CAN converse to the living SOME HOW through the powers of the mold.

I don't believe Ethan is totally gone and I think this is indirectly given away by the choice of still not revealing his face. Since he has a partial face model in the data files, I imagine they were planning on revealing it in the ending, but then stopped development on that when they planned out their future DLC. It's my speculation that they are going to use Ethan's face for a character claiming to be someone else but then is revealed to be Ethan. How they go about that seems tricky as Mia and Chris know what Ethan looks like and I'm sure Rose knows from seeing photos, but it's not the characters that are in the dark when it comes to his likeness. We are. So, there can be a situation where these characters know who he really is and is in on the charade then it's more of a revelation to the audience as the plot folds out.
I just don't see why they would continue to hide his face when his story has supposedly ended. His story has ended, but that doesn't mean he will be excluded from his daughter's story.
You're right that he may not be dead, although I don't think that's likely. Saying "The Father's story is done" doesn't necessarily mean he's dead/gone, it could just as easily mean that he won't be a protagonist/playable character anymore. I just think it's more likely that he's in her head in some capacity rather then still physically present.

Here's my theory. Everyone says that Rose will never had the memories of his father because the Megamycete which is like a storage of memories was already destroyed but I think Rose is the new Megamycete. If you will analyze more mother Miranda failed to bring Eva and her powers was sucked by Rose so I believe she is now the new host of the Megamycete which means that she is the most powerful Bow alive right now.

I think that the giant freakish baby was a manifestation of Mias fears about any future children she may have with Ethan. Ethan makes references to Rose being the baby the never thought they would have and I think it means that Mia had one or more miscarriages before Rose was born. Like Ethans now moldy genes just couldn’t create a viable person until the genetics were at a perfect balance with Rose

Hey small contribution to the discussion, but, without bringing Miranda’s resilience and longevity into consideration, the way that [Mia] barely reacted to the first shot through her shoulder was actually very realistic. A person of experience and reputation once said “It’s not the impact of the bullet that knocks you down, it’s your reaction to the bullet’s impact that knocks you down.”
So with [miranda] Mia shrugging off that first shot to the shoulder, it’s actually quite realistic to how someone reacts to ballistic impact.
It depends on how the bullet goes through the body and it's size.
If it doesn't deform and passes through, it transfers little energy.
Same if the bullet is small, but even a small one, if it is stopped in the body would have and leave at least the same energy as a reasonably heavy punch.
If those bullets were of small caliber and the first one passed through widout hitting any bone, that reaction would be possible, but it doesn't mean that's always possible.
Or maybe Ethan didn’t actually die and a bit of him or cell grow into a whole ethan and went to go see his duaghter as a teen

If the head was actually there, well, think the nightmare fuel facial glitches in Assassin's Creed Unity, but right in your face and backwards.

It's more a reminder that Rose isn't supposed to eat this. - Babys can't process raw honey or shrooms(or raw food in general) and it can be bad for a baby to eat honey bc it can give them something called botulism, which can be lethal.

I predict that she will have some supernatural interaction with him in the future. She probably has some of the datastorage of the megamycete, and since a copy of his "Soul " or engrammatic imprint of his mind and personality was absorbed by the molds weird hivemind thing, she could have that data saved into her somehow.
If she gets powerful enough to just summon molded, and imprint thought into them, she could make a copy of him.
I think that when rose was put back together, she immediately begun absorbing the information and overall power of the mold. Evidenced by how as soon as maranda pulled her out she instantly began to weaken. This could also be the reason why ethen dies after defeating maranda, after all he's defeated everything in his path up to this point but this crow b*tch is the one to do him in? Nuh uh.

That Rose's Consciousness, was still semi-active even when sectioned up, and therefor, she was able to, through the megamycete influence him just a little bit. Stabalize his failing mold body just a little bit. That being heartless hould have killed even him, but she kept that from happening. And when he finally gets her back she is essentially like "Okay daddy, you can rest"

I think it's more they're scared of what she's capable of, and they have people on hand ready to kill her if they think she's about to turn into a danger to other people. Although whether or not they'd actually be *able* to kill her I have no idea. So I guess for now she's useful to them but they're also acutely aware of just how dangerous and powerful she can be. Especially if she does have the ability to infect and create an army of molded like Miranda seemed to imply.

Its possible that Rose can see/remember Ethan's memories due to the mold, since the mold does store memories as mentioned in the game.
Thus why she was so fond of her father, running away from captivity just to give flowers on his birthday. Even if she couldn't have known him personally, since he died when she was just a baby. Also her response to the agent gives a hint to that.

In the scene where Miranda crushes his heart and drinks his blood, she said that he will be part of the Megamycte. We know that some part of the victims are stuck in a limbo and Miranda knows about their knowledge. So.. is it safe to assume that Rose still talks to her dad subconsciously? It would make the last scene a bit more sad, thinking how he's looking after her and replying to her words.

What if Miranda's ceremony worked in a way and Rose was affected by the essence of Eva? When Miranda first takes Rose out of the mold altar she refers to the child as "My Eva" and seems to recognize her. I also saw the odd angry outburst of Rose to the secret agent as eerily similar to Mia's snap at Ethan early into the game, when she was actually Miranda. Also the outburst was at a joke calling Rose Evelyn, another creation of Miranda's. Could Rose be aware of the influence of a second personality within her, that being Eva?
He probably can speak to her, and she can hear him. The same way that Miranda knew her daughter was in the Megamycete and was attempting to remake Rose into her. Rose now has signs from all branches of the mold/Megamycete, from Ethan and Evelyn to the (for lack of better terminology and safety) Reforging at the end of Village, she now has control of the mold, and can manage some of it's effects. She said, "things even Chris doesn't know", and that would imply that she has some deeper fusion of the Mold's mind warping and the Megamycete's genetic rewriting abilities. Modification of certain aspects, such as defensive, and strength enhancement. To be fair, though, she may not have complete control of these abilities. Hence, her getting "tested"

Sadly, that'd leave Moira out as the "fully human" one since Sherry, Jake, and Rose would all have some form of bio powers.
I'm more curious of how they'll handle the survival horror elements in the next game with Rose as the protagonist, if she will be one.
By now we all know she'll at least have some of Ethan's regenrative powers so expect limb reattachment.
Other cool powers would be the one from Siren where you can see through the eyes of enemies. Maybe she can see through the eyes of mold based enemies?

I don't know. Sherry had High-Speed Regeneration as shown in RE6 but other then that one cutscene nothing was done with it. I think it'd be amazing if you actually had powers to work with, but I feel like even if they did give her powers they'd only be used in cutscenes and/or puzzles, but not combat.

@ 9:32 you see Mother Miranda break character as Mia when Ethan mentions he's been going through military training. She has this annoyed look like she is not only upset to have discovered Ethan's potential to cause problems as well as annoyance that he won't change the subject
Can we just appreciate. That the chauffeur proudly says “I’ve found her” then promptly called out by the overwatch that had clearly had eyes on her for A WHILE.
It's pretty awful. No privacy, a sniper constantly ready to shoot her, and they likely see her as a weapon instead of a person.

It’s so great that Ethan and rose still have a bond. Even tho she was very young she still remembers him and how much he did.
