this is an excellent machine for the price. it comes with a pump that you put in a bucket of cold water. this pumps water to the tubes connected to the aluminium body of the machine and keeps it cool. i bent a 90 degree angle in 4mm perspex today on a piece that was 60cm wide. turned it to 55 on the dial and that was hot enough without any bubbling.
after say 5 min (occasionally turning) of heating it was ready to bend. my bucket o water started to get warm after 10 min so id say change the water after a 10 min constant use. or add ice!
i used this on a plastic work table and the water kept it cool. its a great feature to set up anywhere really.
its really well made.
if you were to make one itd cost a lot more. i looked up bench power supplys and some of these cost more than the whole package of this.
