A harder question would have been: "Which is Our Favorite of Your Reactions to the Moore Bonds?!?" (LOL) But either way, my mind is leaning towards "The Spy Who Loved Me!" 💘
A View to a Kill is my favorite by the way I love Grace Jones in this film and she is an incredible singer my favorite songs are La Vie en Rose and Pull Up to the Bumper👍👍
Fun fact, the actor playing Tibbits, Patrick Macnee, also played one of the best known secret agents through out the 60's. He was John Steed on The Avengers, a British TV show not unlike Bond. Although Steed had a female partner, Emma Peel, played by Diana Riggs, Mrs. Bond from OHMSS. It was a great show
The Avengers, one of the best in spy shows on TV. The Man With The Golden Gun paying homage when Christopher Lee's character played a shooting game in his house of fun. Also, Patrick McNee had the actress who played Kitty Galore in Goldfinger before Diana Rigg. A movie you should check out with Rigg starring with Vincent Price is Theater Of Blood (1973) and a fun fact with this, Price was host to a show called Masterpiece Mystery in the 80s. When Price left hosting he HIGHLY recommended Diana Rigg to host next in which she did.
There were multiple actors who crossed over between The Avengers and Bond. Before Emma Peel, Steed was partnered by Cathy Gale, played by Honor Blackman who went on to play Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. There was also a 70s revival, The New Avengers, in which Joanna Lumley played Purdey, having previously played one of the women at the clinic in OHMSS. Finally, in a (terrible) 90s film version, the villain was played by Sean Connery.
@@scottjo63 There was another Avengers star who was in a bond girl. (Well The New Avengers") Joanna Lumly had a small role in OHMSS as one of Blofeld's Angels of Death. Although, unlike Rigg & Honor Hlackman, she did Bond before the Avengers. Another interesting Diana Rigg movie is The Assassination Bureau (1969) which also featured Telly Savalas, her co-star from OHMSS (also 1969 - she got more than her share of Kojak that year) and Kurt Jurgens, who would later be Stromberg in The Spy Who Loved Me.
The Avengers was a fantastic Spy-Fi series! I believe Moore and Macnee knew each other during those years because they likely worked on the same sound stages when Moore was filming The Saint. There are many actors and actresses who worked on both The Avengers and Bond. A few i can think of off the top of my head: Silvia Trench - the woman Bond gets interrupted with in the first two Bond films - was played by Eunice Gayson, who had a prominent part in the Avengers episode "The Quick Quick Slow Death." Julian Glover - Christatos in For Your Eyes Only - appeared in a couple of Avengers episodes playing different characters. Steven Berkoff - General Orlov in Octopussy - is a baddie in the Avengers episode "The Gravediggers." Robert Brown - "M" from Octopussy through License to Kill - was in the Avengers episode "The Town of No Return " ... and in the movie we just watched, the monocle-wearing mad scientist accompanying Zorin was played by Willoughby Gray, who appeared in the Avengers episode "You'll Catch Your Death" .... and there are many, many others.
As we bid a fond farewell to Sir Roger Moore's run as 007, I just wanted to say, Jen, that you are absolutely SMASHING IT with your Bond reactions thus far. I've seen far too many other reactors of the classic Bonds not be able to set aside a modern sensibility and just enjoy them for what they are and allow them to be products of their time. Bravo!
My favourite Bond reactor. Haven’t watch this one in a while. It’s like watching with a new set of eyes. Really enjoyed this. Timmy D next. He’s great. Can’t wait. 🍸🔫
Haven’t watched a ton of old Bond reactions because I haven’t seen a ton of old Bond films, but I watch Jen’s because they are so fun, even if I haven’t seen the movie, which I rarely watch reactions of movies I haven’t seen. But having just watched a Gen Z reactor clutch his pearls at Blazing Saddles this morning, I’m totally with you.
This is exactly what I like about Jen as well, she understands that these movies are old and the cultural things were different back then, so you gotta watch them with that in mind.
Action star Dolph Lundgren made his acting debut in A View To A Kill as Venz the tall blonde bodyguard of General Gogol and it was a cameo but he would star in Rocky 4 the same year as Ivan Drago as Rocky’s (Sylvester Stallone’s) nemesis. Dolph Lundgren was dating Grace Jones at time of A View To A kill being filmed and released and she starred as May Day.
The sad difference between Cassie and Jen is that Jen is doing Bond ALL in order as Cassie is strictly with those money making polls. I unsubscribed to her unfortunately.
Been looking forward to this reaction all day. I know that a lot of people don’t like this movie but it still has it’s good moments and thank you Roger Moore for your great performance as James Bond.
Unpopular opinion, but A View to a Kill is my favorite of the Roger Moore Bonds. The music is awesome (I love those repeating 4 notes when the theme starts), it has one of the coolest final showdowns, and I love Christopher Walken! Excited for Dalton next! 😎
Ditto on the music. I remember buying the reissued soundtrack CD when it was still in print and being incredibly disappointed at how incomplete the album was. I'm not going to say it's my favorite Bond score, but it's very underappreciated.
Well, to me, the only bad thing of this film was Roger Moore himself. He was too old for the role. They should cast Timothy Dalton in the part instead.
Good catch. This was prior to most people ever hearing of snowboarding. The snowboards that were most common at the time were named "Snurfers." (The name was a portmanteau of "snow surfer.")They were invented by a guy named Sherm Poppen in Muskegon, Michigan in the 1960s and was originally made by breaking the tail fin off of a waterski and putting staples in the top so the board would be able to be gripped by boot treads. It had a rope attached to the front end and the rider would grip the rope while riding. Interestingly, I live right up the road from the garage where the first commercially available Snurfer was made here in Muskegon.
One of the best Sir John Barry’s scores for sure! Even with an older Bond, this film is fun and totally in an 80’s mood. Chris Walken and Grace Jones are memorable villans in the series. And the theme song (with Duran Duran) is a classic for Bond’s fans. The lovely (and sadly late) Tanya Roberts was the last of the original Charlie’s Angels, Tv series.
The actor that played Tibbett is Patrick Macnee who played John Steed on the the tv show The Avengers in the early to mid 1960's and the New Avengers in the mid 1970's. At about the same time (early to mid 60's) Roger Moore was playing Simon Templar on the tv show The Saint. I remember watching those shows on tv as a kid, and loved them both.
There are many actors from that film who were in Bond films: Sean Connery -the original Bond Alison Doody- this film John Rhys-Davies- The Living Daylights Julian Glover- For Your Eyes Only Michael Byrne- Tomorrow Never Dies Stephen Kalipha- For Your Eyes Only
During the filming of this movie, Moore decided it would definitely be his last for a number of reasons. Prime among them was his age-he had to rely more on stunt doubles and he learned he was older than the lead actress’s mother. Additionally, the increasing violence bothered him. Though he never admitted it until after filming ended, he found Grace Jones difficult to work with.
Jen and Popcorn in Bed releasing Roger Moore Bond movie reactions at the same day and time? The nine realms have aligned! Also: The actress playing Jenny Flex (Allison Doody) later became the leading lady in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Yes, Cassie not doing all in order which makes her just another reactor doing it for the popularity, the money and the gifts she seems to exploit very sad to say.
So glad you are paying this franchise the respect it deserves and not merely viewing the old Bond movies as simply a "pre-game" for the Craig era (unlike certain other reactors I can name). True Bond fans know that these cheesy old ones with gadgets, one liners and ridiculous plots is what it's all about. The new ones get dark and lose this whimsy.
While I enjoy the Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton and especially the Pierce Brosnan Bonds (and endure Roger Moore's), I actually think Daniel Craig is the best since Connery. Yeah, he took the franchise in a darker, more dramatic direction, but three of Craig's five Bond films are absolutely brilliant (and Quantum of Solace and Spectre aren't bad, they're just not as good as the other three). I mean, Casino Royale was just a great *film* , with outstanding writing and acting, Skyfall was even more fantastic, and they would be even if they had nothing to do with James Bond.
@@thomashiggins9320 Craig did five, not four! :) I like all of Craig's except Spectre. I've noticed there seems to be a lot of anti-NTTD sentiment but I love it and think with time it will be widely accepted as top tier.
This Bond film holds a special place in my heart. Its probably my most viewed Bond film, I had a vhs of it I lost count of how many times I rewatached it as a kid. Even though Walken is very cringe or over the top, he's brilliant. And the opening song by Duran Duran is one of the best of them all (biased but don't care). Also fun fact the opening is shot around Jökulsárlón just next to Vatnajökull glacier here in Iceland. Plus there are a couple more Bond films shot here as well.
Really excited for you to get to Dalton and Brosnan! In my opinion, The Living Daylights through The World Is Not Enough is the best 5-film stretch of Bond since Connery's original run.
Though somewhat silly, I adore View To A Kill. Fantastically nonsensical theme song, Walken is wild, Grace Jones has one of the best face-turns, and though she is almost completely helpless as Stacy Sutton, Tanya Roberts was a beauty (RIP).
Very underrated entry. Loved Walken and especially Grace Jones; the finale on the bridge is one of the best in the series. Farewell, dear Roger Moore and RIP, thank you for the memories. And Jen, your British accent is adorable.
The guy who invented snowboarding actually did that stunt in the opening and as far as I know it was the first time snowboarding was ever depicted in a movie. So this is pretty much the exact beginning of that sport. That's also why they added the Beach Boys song to it. Cause it would be easier for the audience to understand it as "surfing on snow/ice".
What a great ride the Rog era has been on your Bond journey. Moonraker is my favorite! While sad to wave bye to Rog, very intrigued to see your reaction to Timmy! Thanks for all your efforts JennyPenny.
20:30 - The blonde bodyguard behind the General is Dolph Lungren. He was dating Grace Jones when she secured her role in 'A View To A Kill, and was recommended by her to the production team.
The blonde Bond girl/henchwoman of Christopher Walken by the name of Jenny Flex in this was played by the Irish actress Alison Doody, who was also Dr. Elsa Schneider in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'.
Jen you’ll be ending up watching arguably the two of the best James Bond films in the franchise with The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. Timothy Dalton is probably the best James Bond in the entire franchise and is the one who played Bond closest to how he is in the novels
@@melchiorvonsternberg844 People who say Dalton is the best are the ones who tend to have read the books. People who claim the same for Craig... not so much.
This is the first and only James Bond film where we are Christopher Walken as a Bond villain. This is also the acting debut of Dolph Lungdren as a Henchman. David Bowie was the first choice to play the villainous Max Zorin, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with LIVE AID July 1985 and the fantasy adventure musical LABYRINTH released July 1986. Roger Moore was 57 when they made this movie, making him the oldest Bond in the film franchise.
Christopher Walken was the first actor at the time to have played a Villain in the Bond series to have won an Academy Award when won for Best Supporting Actor for The Deer Hunter in 1978.
And Bond’s contact in San Francisco was played by *David Yip* who played Indy’s friend Wu Han in the beginning of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom.
@@JedHead77 A small cameo part is Dolph Lundgren, just before he became famous as Drago in Rocky IV. He was one of the KGB Body guards with General Gogol when he confronted Zorin at the race track. He is silent and basically just stands there. The reason why he was in the film is that he was dating Grace Jones and visited her on the set and the director thought he would make an imposing body guard.
Yay! Jennypenny! Love your Bond reactions. You will notice a change in time when it switches to Timothy Dalton. Christopher Walken for comedic - Blast from the Past. For really good strange character - The Dead Zone.
Favorite James Bond Movies: 1) Living Daylights (Dalton), *Beautiful soundtrack too!* (I bought it and wore it out). 2) Die Another Day (Pierce Brosnan); GoldenEye (Brosnan;); The World is Not Enough (Brosnan) 2) Never Say Never Again (Connery); License To Kill (Dalton) 3) View To A Kill (Roger Moore) Moonraker (Roger Moore) Diamonds Are Forever (Connery) 5) Goldfinger (Connery).
This is one of my favorite Bond movies. It's SO CAMPY I love it. Chris Walken playing an amazing psychopath, smoking hot Grace Jones, Patrick Macnee supporting role just because, and a great score.
Yeah, The Campyness and your willingness to just sit back and be entertained made Bond movies special... they lost some of that magic when they switched entirely to CGI FX in the later films.
...loved Roger 'on the job', and: he rightly refused to continue - he felt getting too old for the role... and he did 7 really good ones - thanks Jen, for appreciating him so much - he really deserves it! 😎
Since you are Canadian you might like to know the mansion featured in the shootout scene was Dunsmuir House, built for the son of Robert Dunsmuir, coal, railroad and real estate baron of Vancouver Island. A Vancouver street is named after him and extant Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria is a significant historic building as well. Another son James was Premier of British Columbia.
Grace Jones is from Jamaica, the adoptive place for Ian Fleming (Fleming was a Navy Inteligence officer during WW2, he reached commander rank, like Bond)
It never occurred to me before watching this reaction, but James Stock is a play on James Bond (stocks and bonds). You can always find something new in subsequent viewings. Thanks, Jen.
Jen, it might be a good idea to check out Never Say Never Again before the Dalton movies. NSNA was a one-off as a result of a complicated lawsuit settlement--a competing producer was allowed to do a Bond movie based on the Thunderball storyline, which was updated for the 80s. They hired back Connery, and released it at about the same time as Octopussy. It's missing the music, the gun barrel sequence, and had a totally different cast and crew. The premise is Bond was retired and they are bringing him back. I think it's inferior to the Eon Pictures productions, but it does have its moments. In the Living Daylights--they change up a lot. Dalton is a very different Bond--more serious, but tall and dark, and very convincing in the physicality of his role, and as a tough hero. Not as good with the quips though. They change out the actors in the supporting roles--Lois Maxwell and Moore of course, are gone. Only Q remains, and many of the back up crew, such as the writers, set designers, and such, all were replaced. I liked TLD, but not it's 1989 follow-on, License to Kill. I thought the 2nd Dalton was too dark, but some people consider it the best Bond. Then there was the biggest gap ever in the Bond franchise--1989 to 1995 before Pierce Brosnan started. I would have loved to see two more Dalton films in that time--a great lost opportunity.
Fun fact: Patrick Macnee starred in his own superspy television series, as Johnathan Steed, in The Avengers (1961-1969). Two of his co-stars became Bond Girls: Honor Blackman as Cathy Gale (Pussy Galore in Goldfinger) and Diana Rigg as Mrs. Emma Peel (Tracey Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service).
The End of Roger Moore's Era may be even more bittersweet than Sean Connery's; both of them have left their marks on this character!! But Next...we're finally moving on to the MAN WHO MADE ME a true Bond Fan: Timothy Dalton! Both of His movies are less goofy / more serious, but absolutely Fun too!! Trust me Jen, You too will wish that He could have done more as Bond... (38:01) Should You watch "San Andreas" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson..? OH HELL YES, You Should!👍
Thank you so much for walking us through the Moore / Bond era… You increased my appreciation of these films 10 fold. When I was a young Bond fan I was virtually praying for a more serious direction and Dalton’s casting meant so much to me. He invents the Bond the Craig ultimately perfects. I love the next two films. I hope you will too!
Dalton was approached to play Bond before Moore, but Dalton didn't feel he was old enough to play Bond. Dalton played Prince Barton in the Flash Gordon movie, 1980 or 1981.. and he played the supermarket owner in Hot Fuzz
Can't wait for Pierce Brosnan! Ever since the first season of Remington Steele we knew he was going to be the next bond. Wait, WHAT?!? The network UNcancelled the show to lock Brosnan down?!?
Thanks Jen! This might be because of nostalgia, but this is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film. I love the plot, Walken is genius, and I really like Stacey Sutton. And that flood of the cavern is 80s practical action at it's best... Right in line with Temple Of Doom. Thank you for another great revisit of a familiar favorite.
Late to this reaction, but this is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film. Haven't yet read other comments, so I hope it hasn't been pointed out yet. The asian henchwoman might be Lucy Liu. The blond henchwoman is Allison Doody who starred as one of the Nazis in The Last Crusade opposite Indiana Jones. And of course, as always, I am here for Jen's tremendous reactions!
I can’t wait for you to experience Timothy Dalton’s Bond. My absolute favourite and Licence to Kill is my favourite Bond movie. Also, this was the first Bond movie I saw in the cinema, it has a special place in my heart.
I'll go ahead and comment on this one at the start so I don't accidentally ping and keep you awake, lol. Such a great movie! Looking forward to watching your reaction to this one. Roger Moore was the Bond of my childhood and teen years, and this movie with Grace Jones and Christopher Walken was just fantastic! Thanks for all these wonderful reactions, Jen, and sweet dreams! :)
Jen, once again thank you for doing ALL the Bonds, and in release order! I do enjoy this one because Christopher Walken is a psyco villain! Timothy Dalton is next, met him once. And he's a really nice guy! Bravo for doing All the Bonds, Thanks again Jen...Eric
I agree that Timothy Dalton was a good Bond. He played him more serious like Sean Connery after all the Roger Moore campiness even though I liked Roger. "The Living Daylights" is one of my favorite Bond movies.
Another wonderful reaction! Never stop doing accents! Christopher Walken recommendations: The Dead Zone (1983) Directed by your fellow Canadian David Cronnenberg and based on the novel by Stephen King. Academy Award Winners for Best Picture of 1977 and 1978 were Annie Hall and The Dear Hunter, respectively. Walken appears in both. In Annie Hall, he appears briefly, but very memorably, in a couple of scenes. Walken won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for The Deer Hunter. This Vietnam era drama stars Robert DeNiro. I believe it was Meryl Streep's first film .
Best Moore Bond. It gets more intense from here with less quips and increasing action. Dalton was good, didn't really get a fair shake. Brosnan does a great job too but my fav is Connery closely followed by Brosnan then Craig. Another excellent reaction Jen. That's going to be some Bond World Tour you'll be going on!
The 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II CUB 1 belonged to Bond producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli who loaned it to the production. He was a little nervous about the gates as they were so close together. The one going into the water was a replica.
Well Jen you made it to the final Roger Moore Bond film❤your non stop enthusiasm. Christopher Walking is in so many great movies, such as the Deer Hunter alongside Robert De Niro. I'd recommend you watch him in a film called The Dead Zone adapted from a Stephen king book. It's riveting with a great love story.Take care👍💓🇬🇧
Another great reaction by you, Jen, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again, sadly it's the last Rogering that you'll get. 😉😂 Your accent is fine by the way, please keep doing it. Right, it's on to the next 'Bond' film now to help your channel.
A View to a Kill starring Roger Moore, Christopher Walken, Grace Jones and Tanya Roberts. The music video of the film is the classic song "A View to a Kill" single by Duran Duran. This is the last film of Roger Moore as james bond. Next time The Living Daylights with Timothy Dalton
Fun fact: This was one of the first movies to feature a snow boarding scene. Another fact: Roger Moore had said in an interview about this movie, he knew it was time to retire from playing Bond when he realized he was older than the mother of the Bond girl.
There's a movie called Big Trouble(2002) with Tim Allen and a bunch of other famous actors. It's basically a heist/caper comedy and I think it would be totally up your alley. Ask your community, I guarantee you'll hear great things about it.
I'm Impressed...I thought I was the only one who ever Liked that movie! It's extremely under-rated, and I agree...I think Jen would find it quite hilarious!
Fun facts: „Jenny Flex“ would go on to be Elsa four years later in Indiana Jones III…Zorin originally was to be played by David Bowie. If you love this soundtrack, just wait till you hear John Barry‘s score to The Living Daylights! This is the end of the Roger Moore era, but he will always be my favorite, as he‘s the Bond I grew up with. That being said, I love Timothy Dalton as 007! He was the first to really look and act as described in the novels! Can‘t wait for your reaction!
Same. Although I didn't like Craig as Bond at first, but over the years he's since grown onto me. I grew up with Pierce Brosnan's Bond, but I played the video games during that era first before eventually getting into the actual films later on, which was a little weird.
A great villain who is a chilling psychopath and an over the top comic villain at once. He really sells 'evil genius' without being a Mad Engineer. I also like the diversion about horseracing, and that it manages to blend low key gadgets and spy work with a ridiculous evil plot and stays 'grounded' by Bond Standards through not threatening the world.
This was my introduction to Bond and, so, my favorite . I had already fallen in love with Tanya Roberts from Beastmaster, but this sparked my adoration for both Grace Jones and Christopher Walken. Even at the time, the fire engine scene was dumb, but I absolutely loved the blimp.
That guy that gets yanked over the edge by a hook at the beginning is shouting, "Help me, Roger Moore! Help me!" in Russian. You can kinda hear the "Roger Moore" part in the clip Jen shows here. Also, James calls himself "James Stock"... stocks & bonds...
Hey Jen ;) Just wanted to tell you about the first mission impossible movie that it was a shocking plot twist for Jim Phelps, litterally the main character of the TV show became the bad guy and suppose to prepare the audience that anything can now happen in this franchise. I hope you will do a mission impossible reaction every 2 week like you did with James Bond :) Also, I suggest you to check "Leon the profesionnal" starring the actor who played Krieger the traitor who was piloting the chopper at the end with the train (Jean Reno) where he plays the main character (a hitman). Which is his best film and the best movie made by Luc Besson imo ^^ I would love to watch you react to it but try to get the "extented cut" for this one ;)
Hey Jen, If you'd like to watch more vintage Roger Moore movies, I highly recommend you check out the 1979 action film, The Wild Geese. A vastly underrated gem.
Thanks for continuing with the Bond movies, Jen. Patrick McNee(Sir Godfrey Tibbet) once starred as a spy in "The Avengers" TV series during the '60s. Diana Riggs, who portrayed his partner for part of the series, became Mrs. James Bond in "Her Majesty's Secret Service." Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, and Sean Connery starred in the 1998 movie adaptation of "The Avengers."
One of the best 80's Bondy's* with the beautiful Jen. Does a Wednesday get any better! (Definitely the best Bond theme ever, Duran friggin Duran!!!!!!!)
My favourite of all the Bond movies 😀 Lots of people seem to dislike Bond being close to retirement age in this movie (which is true enough) and less fightyfighty than suave (which is also true, but I actually like that style for his character). Walken - guy gets typecast, but hey, he always does a great villain. And let's be honest, suuuuuch a good Bond song (just never ever watch the music video). Great movie music in general throughout😃 Walken movies: "The deer hunter" is bound to be recommended by a lot of people, but I also love "At close range" - pretty underrated movie imho

Sir Roger's last and in his late 50s. Between the Hollywood premiere and before wide release, he announced that he was finished with the role. Pumped with the quinessential Bond formula. But it was more investigative than convert. The final struggle on the Golden Gate bridge was pretty epic. Walken was an ok villain and played psycho pretty well. Grace Jones was cool as Mayday, didn't expect her to turn, but could you blame her? If you noticed when the KGB confronts Zorin, one of the agents is played by Dolph Lundgren (pre-Rocky IV) who was Grace Jones' boyfriend at the time. The late Tonya Roberts (Charlie's Angels, That 70s show) was such a hottie with the bluest eyes you'd ever seen. Duran Duran's theme is killer and the music video itself was filmed in Paris. John Barry composes 2 more Bond films, which is the era with Timothy Dalton. At this point, Moore had the most Bond films of any actor. A tough act to follow and a pretty good run.
What's been your fav Moore Bond movie?

Another interesting Diana Rigg movie is The Assassination Bureau (1969) which also featured Telly Savalas, her co-star from OHMSS (also 1969 - she got more than her share of Kojak that year) and Kurt Jurgens, who would later be Stromberg in The Spy Who Loved Me.
The Avengers was a fantastic Spy-Fi series! I believe Moore and Macnee knew each other during those years because they likely worked on the same sound stages when Moore was filming The Saint.
There are many actors and actresses who worked on both The Avengers and Bond. A few i can think of off the top of my head: Silvia Trench - the woman Bond gets interrupted with in the first two Bond films - was played by Eunice Gayson, who had a prominent part in the Avengers episode "The Quick Quick Slow Death."
Julian Glover - Christatos in For Your Eyes Only - appeared in a couple of Avengers episodes playing different characters.
Steven Berkoff - General Orlov in Octopussy - is a baddie in the Avengers episode "The Gravediggers."
Robert Brown - "M" from Octopussy through License to Kill - was in the Avengers episode "The Town of No Return "
... and in the movie we just watched, the monocle-wearing mad scientist accompanying Zorin was played by Willoughby Gray, who appeared in the Avengers episode "You'll Catch Your Death"
.... and there are many, many others.
Bravo!
dang well said that's also how I've felt
My favourite Bond reactor. Haven’t watch this one in a while. It’s like watching with a new set of eyes. Really enjoyed this. Timmy D next. He’s great. Can’t wait. 🍸🔫
Moore knew he wants to end on a high
Timothy Dalton is fantastically underrated as James Bond and it's unfortunate that he only got to star in two films.
The six year gap between License to Kill and Goldeneye was unfortunate. Dalton was the best, most accurate to the novels version of Bond.
Facts. He's definitely awesome. And why do some people think otherwise, I will never understand.
Dalton will always be my guy, even if not everyone appreciates his "world-weary hardass" take on Bond.
Yeah he made my favourite Bond quote of all time. "I'm a slasher! I must be stopped!" He really stole the show with that one.
@@jmwild1 that was a Post James Bond era
When you just finished Cassie & Carly's Spy Who Loved Me reaction, and Jen Murray pops up with A View to a Kill.... oh joy.
Opposite order for me. Just finished this one and heading to the other now :)
Same!
The sad difference between Cassie and Jen is that Jen is doing Bond ALL in order as Cassie is strictly with those money making polls. I unsubscribed to her unfortunately.
You too, eh?
@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy Maybe they will do the other ones at a later time, but they are missing things by not doing them in order.
Been looking forward to this reaction all day. I know that a lot of people don’t like this movie but it still has it’s good moments and thank you Roger Moore for your great performance as James Bond.
This one has top 5 best themes of the whole series
Unpopular opinion, but A View to a Kill is my favorite of the Roger Moore Bonds. The music is awesome (I love those repeating 4 notes when the theme starts), it has one of the coolest final showdowns, and I love Christopher Walken! Excited for Dalton next! 😎
Welcome To The Club
Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" Song has always been on My Playlist!
Not unpopular. I love this movie as well.
Correct.
Also, Tom Sims, of Sims Snowboards was Moore’s stunt double for the now iconic sequence.
She's also in Beastmaster and Sheena. RIP to a beauty.
Yeah i think with paasage of time this will be seen as one of all time great Bond scores
Not to mention Patrick Macnee's Avengers co-stars Diane Rigg and Honor Blackman were Bond girls.
He was also young Jacob Marley in the 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim as Scrooge.
Jenny Flex was played by Alison Doody who is probably best known for playing Dr. Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
She was also in Taffin with Pierce Brosnan.
That's great trivia. Never knew that. Thanks!
There are many actors from that film who were in Bond films:
Sean Connery -the original Bond
Alison Doody- this film
John Rhys-Davies- The Living Daylights
Julian Glover- For Your Eyes Only
Michael Byrne- Tomorrow Never Dies
Stephen Kalipha- For Your Eyes Only
@@dnish6673Correct.
She also did a great job in the modern version of 'King Solomon's Mines' with Patrick Swayze
Zorin being so amused by his own death is one of the all time Bond moments
Christopher Walken and Grace Jones have great chemistry together. I can’t wait for your reaction to Dalton and Brosnan
But do you think Dalton & Brosnan had better chemistry than Walken & Grace?
During the filming of this movie, Moore decided it would definitely be his last for a number of reasons. Prime among them was his age-he had to rely more on stunt doubles and he learned he was older than the lead actress’s mother. Additionally, the increasing violence bothered him. Though he never admitted it until after filming ended, he found Grace Jones difficult to work with.
Well, he was 57 so it is Kinda creepy.
@@robertpihl3556 Yep! But he never looked like...
@@scottjo63 Cassie did it more late
I came here first, i'm going to watch Popcorn's reaction to The Spy Who Loved Me shortly.
Craig is too homely to play Bond, seriously, and with him they turned the franchise into a cartoon.
@@thomashiggins9320 Craig did five, not four! :) I like all of Craig's except Spectre. I've noticed there seems to be a lot of anti-NTTD sentiment but I love it and think with time it will be widely accepted as top tier.
@@claya7580 I profoundly disagree. Casino Royale is a great film, and the last two are almost as good, and Skyfall is amazing. Full stop.
@@sterow Whoops, I miscounted. Corrected my initial statement.
The fact that James was skiing, snowboarding and wakeboarding all within 5 mins is amazing 😂
Pure 👁️🗨️ every scene start to finish. Has one of the best Bond scenes. The scene within a scene. 👁️🗨️
Really excited for you to get to Dalton and Brosnan! In my opinion, The Living Daylights through The World Is Not Enough is the best 5-film stretch of Bond since Connery's original run.
Dalton and the bulk of Brosnan is a fantastic run.
Never thought about that. But you are right. That TLD to TWINE run is a damned good run.
this blew my mind, I never realized how good I love that stretch of films but now that you mentioned that I 100% agree.
Though somewhat silly, I adore View To A Kill. Fantastically nonsensical theme song, Walken is wild, Grace Jones has one of the best face-turns, and though she is almost completely helpless as Stacy Sutton, Tanya Roberts was a beauty (RIP).
"A woman with principles, we shall sleep with her!"😂😂😂
Very underrated entry. Loved Walken and especially Grace Jones; the finale on the bridge is one of the best in the series. Farewell, dear Roger Moore and RIP, thank you for the memories. And Jen, your British accent is adorable.
First Bond I saw in a theater. It was a great experience.
☺️👍
You did read the books? Really...?
Max was an awesome villain. I was a little surprised when Catwoman, not Batman, took him out.
@@adammakesstuffup Dude, SPOILER! Jen hasn't seen "Batman Returns" yet...I think.
I always wondered if David Bowie was offered to portray a Bond villain.
Christopher Walken was the first actor at the time to have played a Villain in the Bond series to have won an Academy Award when won for Best Supporting Actor for The Deer Hunter in 1978.
Rutger Hauer was also considered
Timothy Dalton was so underrated as Bond, I think after the comic edge Roger Moore brought to the role the public weren't expecting his take on it
Jen, the character of Jenny Flex was played by *Alison Doody*
You saw her in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Don't be silly. Everyone knows her from Major League II.
@@stvdagger8074 Yes, I know. I didn’t mention him because Jen hasn’t seen the Rocky series (yet).
Yay! Jennypenny! Love your Bond reactions. You will notice a change in time when it switches to Timothy Dalton.
Christopher Walken for comedic - Blast from the Past. For really good strange character - The Dead Zone.
I love how much fun you have watching these movies

Favorite James Bond Movies:
1) Living Daylights (Dalton), *Beautiful soundtrack too!* (I bought it and wore it out).
2) Die Another Day (Pierce Brosnan); GoldenEye (Brosnan;); The World is Not Enough (Brosnan)
2) Never Say Never Again (Connery); License To Kill (Dalton)
3) View To A Kill (Roger Moore) Moonraker (Roger Moore) Diamonds Are Forever (Connery)
5) Goldfinger (Connery).
Geez, I'm old. That summer I saw this movie in the theater was the year I graduated high school. 1985.
Small correction, they kept both Q and M.
@@sterow Yes that's true. I guess in my mind I had Bernard Lee (the classic M), but he actually didn't even make it into the 80s.
OH HELL YES, You Should!👍
The guy with the monocle was the chief military advisor on the film Waterloo. I found that really interesting but I know nobody else will.
Never apologise for the accent, it makes these more entertaining 😊
Thanks Jen! This might be because of nostalgia, but this is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film. I love the plot, Walken is genius, and I really like Stacey Sutton. And that flood of the cavern is 80s practical action at it's best... Right in line with Temple Of Doom.

Christopher Walken recommendations:
The Dead Zone (1983) Directed by your fellow Canadian David Cronnenberg and based on the novel by Stephen King.
The Dogs of War

Dolph Lundgren in an early role on the left there, actually the same year he shot to fame playing Ivan Drago in Rocky IV
Bond + Mr. Steed & an Angel ( Charlie's Angels ) ; Tanya Roberts . I saw this in the theater when it came out. I really liked it.
Next stop, The Living Daylights. And that is when you are in for a real treat.
The 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II CUB 1 belonged to Bond producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli who loaned it to the production. He was a little nervous about the gates as they were so close together. The one going into the water was a replica.

Not a huge fan of Tim Allen, but everybody else in Big Trouble are hilarious, especially Stanley Tucci.
Pierce Brosnon and Daniel Craig James Bond are my favorite because they’re the ones I grew up with.
Same. Although I didn't like Craig as Bond at first, but over the years he's since grown onto me. I grew up with Pierce Brosnan's Bond, but I played the video games during that era first before eventually getting into the actual films later on, which was a little weird.

Jen, your English accent is hilarious! 😂😂❤
Yes some remember Tanya Roberts as a Charlie's Angel, but I remember her best from Beastmaster and, umm, a certain scene by the waterfall. ❤🙄
That guy that gets yanked over the edge by a hook at the beginning is shouting, "Help me, Roger Moore! Help me!" in Russian. You can kinda hear the "Roger Moore" part in the clip Jen shows here.

Hey Jen ;)
Just wanted to tell you about the first mission impossible movie that it was a shocking plot twist for Jim Phelps, litterally the main character of the TV show became the bad guy and suppose to prepare the audience that anything can now happen in this franchise.
I hope you will do a mission impossible reaction every 2 week like you did with James Bond :)
Also, I suggest you to check "Leon the profesionnal" starring the actor who played Krieger the traitor who was piloting the chopper at the end with the train (Jean Reno) where he plays the main character (a hitman). Which is his best film and the best movie made by Luc Besson imo ^^
