The Eiffel tower piece was almost scuppered by an unauthorised jump by one of the stunt team who wanted so badly to do the jump himself and was promptly fired. But luckily, the stunt went ahead. Because of the curving design, the stunt jump needed a long platform extending from the tower so the stunt guy could jump far out enough so he didn't hit the tower before the ground.
The reason they played the Beach Boys song (aside from the general goofiness) is that up until that point, Snowboarding had basically not existed. The guy that did the snowboarding stunt here is actually the inventor of the sport. So they kinda wanted to sell it to the audience as "surfing on snow/ice". Also, Pola Ivanova (the female Russian agent here) was originally supposed to be XXX from The Spy Who Loved Me. Sadly they were unable to get Barbara Bach back and they decided to create a new character for it. In terms of which Bond has the most Bond movies: Connery - 6 Lazenby - 1 Moore - 7 Dalton - 2 Brosnan - 4 Craig - 5
I do love the names that they give the female characters in Bond movies (Pussy Galore, Tifanny Case, Onnatop, Goodnight, Goodhead .. Goodthighs !) and in this one we have May Day and Jenny Flex. EDIT .. and I forgot Kissy Suzuki, Strawberry Fields and Chew Mee !!
This was Roger Moore's last Bond film as he was 57 when the film was released. David Bowie was the first person to be considered for the role of Max Zorin but turn it down as he was too busy working on LIVE AID 1985 and the Jim Henson fantasy adventure LABYRINTH. Sting was even considered until Christopher Walken was cast
Roger Moore had 7 films and Connery actually had the second longest tenure with 6, unless you count his unofficial “Never Say Never Again,” where they’d be tied at 7. Craig did 5, and the other actors fewer.
Zorin's henchwoman Jenny Flex in this was portrayed by the Irish actress Alison Doody, who was also Dr. Elsa Schneider in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'.
Not Roger Moore best outing as James Bond (probably his worst), the main criticism of AVTAK was Rog's physical appearance between Octopussy and this film as he had plastic surgery. As a result, his distinguishing pimple on his face had been removed. Even Rog's mentioned in an interview at the time that he needed to hang up his PPK after discovering the Bond girl's (late Tanya Roberts of Charlie's Angels) mother was older than himself. But I can't deny through still had the witty and charm as ever.
Don’t worry, the next one is excellent and has a great soundtrack, even if Bin Laden is kind of the Bond ally. No joke. He was a CIA asset and The Living Daylights had a character based on him.
First time I've heard someone say they preferred Stacey over zorin because to me he was one of Moore's era best villains he's supposed to be crazy over the top for me it's when walken is at his best 😂
I’m so excited for next week! You are finally to one of my top favorite Bond movies of all time! “The Living Daylights” is great… at number one? You’ll just have to wait for “Goldeneye”! :-)
Actually your brief impression of Christopher Waaalken was okaaaay. He was possibly too high profile to be in this film. Definitely the weakest of the five John Glen films but still perfectly good. It's just all getting too tired and clichéd but there's also a tonal imbalance. Plenty of old fashioned Roger Moore humour but then a vicious massacre which comes across as an attempt to make it all look a bit mean, but Roger's still there...🤨
This one was back to the camp. The whole City Hall sequence was great, as you mentioned, but then that really bad firetruck bit killed it for me. It would have been amazing for Tom Cruise(he would have nailed every shot), but for our aging Roger Moore, it was pretty dismal. Christopher Walken is AMAZING. Sure he cackles and is a bit kookoo, but the movie is already camp, his take on Zorin fits very well. Your mom mentioned Papillon Soo Soo, who followed this film with a star stealing turn in Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket” as a prostitute (“Me so horny, me love you too much”). Beautiful stuff, the both of you. I’m engrossed in this Bond marathon, can’t wait for next weeks “Living Daylights”.
And the City Hall sequence was an unplanned addition to the film. They were filming in San Francisco and the City Hall actually did catch fire, so they got some footage of the fire and added the scene to the script.
Imagine if auntie may day practicing martial arts with Jenny flexibility who is another assistant of Zorin & may day who would win martial arts practice guess
Ya never really know but as Bond's clearly/obviously going 2 shoot the 3 of them with his Walther PPK regardless of Pistol Caliber/Cartridge (.32 ACP) in this film plus as Stacey Sutton's clearly/obviously going 2 shoot the 3 of them (Jenny Flex, Pan Ho as well as Mayday) in the chest chest with Max Zorin's .357 Magnum SW Model 19 (Snub) the 3 of them (Jenny Flex, Pan Ho as well as Mayday) without bulletproof/bullet resistant armor vest(s) are in a way like y'all will never have enough bullets kill me/us (Jenny Flex, Pan Ho as well as Mayday)/I'm/we're (Jenny Flex, Pan Ho as well as Mayday) far 2 strong 💪/tough 😤 4 your Walther's bullets Mister Bond as well as our employer's SW Model 19 (Snub)'s bullets Miss Sutton no matter how many/much of them both of y'all empty in2 my chest/our chests (Jenny Flex, Pan Ho as well as Mayday) right 2 the point where Bond plus Sutton shoot the 3 of them multiple/several times in the chest real/super fast/quick all 3 of them cackle like hyenas & continue cackling after/when getting hit in the chest by every round/more than every round hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Ya never really know but near the end of the film as Bond takes Zorin's .357 Magnum hands 2 Stacy Sutton as they're going 2 shoot Jenny Flex, Mayday as well Pan Ho in the chest Jenny Flex, Mayday as well as Pan Ho without Bulletproof/Bullet Resistant Armor Vest in a way are like y'all will never have enough bullets 2 kill us/we're far 2 strong 💪/tough 😤 4 your Walther's bullets Mister Bond as well as our employers bullets Miss Sutton no matter how many/much of them y'all empty in2 our chests right 2 the point where Bond plus Sutton shoot all 3 of them multiple/several times in the chest real/super fast/quick the 3 of them cackle like hyenas & continue cackling after/when getting hit in the chest by every round/more than every round hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

In terms of which Bond has the most Bond movies:
Connery - 6
Lazenby - 1
Moore - 7
Dalton - 2
Brosnan - 4
Craig - 5
We need the next actor to make 3 films to complete the set!
I do love the names that they give the female characters in Bond movies

Lois Maxwell last Bond film as Moneypenny also. (1962-1985).
The bulk of this was filmed in 1984 so Labyrinth and Live Aid had nothing to do with it.
Tibbett was the first Avenger, Steed, with Diane Riggs as Emma Peel. Honor Blackman too was Peele, Pussy Galore.
Good catch. I was an Avengers fan too.
Roger Moore had 7 films and Connery actually had the second longest tenure with 6, unless you count his unofficial “Never Say Never Again,” where they’d be tied at 7. Craig did 5, and the other actors fewer.
Beach Boys California just seems put out place at the beginning
As for the car chase in Paris with the disintegrating car: That must be an hommage to old french comedy films starring Louis De Funes.
Zorin's henchwoman Jenny Flex in this was portrayed by the Irish actress Alison Doody, who was also Dr. Elsa Schneider in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'.

Love the cat scaring her. Lol.
Grace Jones's bf was Dolph Lundgren. He's one of Gogol's goons in that scene.
Always appreciate your james bond videos reactions, they're all sweet and entertaining :)
This was Dolph Lundgren's first movie. He was serving as bodyguard to Grace Jones and was dating her at the time.
I actually like this movie, i think Zorin is a good villain, and i love Roger Moore as Bond, he's funny with a twinkel in his eye.
Even now, knowing about the cat. It gives me a scare

Rip To A Great Actor Roger Moore,We Still Miss You
One too many for Roger. His age was really showing, and the face-lift made it even worse.
Yeah...😬
Love AVTAK and Roger (Whom I met twice)
David Bowie I believe was the producers initial choice for Zorin but wasn't interested.
I wonder if Zorin took his plan from Lex Luthor in "Superman The Movie"? 🤔
James Bond move 😎😎😎😎
See if you can spot Maud Adams ;)

Now Christopher walken will be the emperor in part 2 of dune
Prepare for fun!
The last time we'll hear Oh James.
Maryam D’abo says it at the end of The Living Daylights 🤷🏻♂️
And if you’ve seen the work print of the movie they use a more orgasmic oh James.

Watched The Living Daylights today...trying to get used to a new Bond!!
