Brilliant video 👍🏻, the boat is basically a Takacat clone, I have a Truekit Discovery 330 catamaran and they certainly do fly along. I’ve never used mine as a bare boat yet I’ve always had fishing gear etc on and I get up to 18 knots with it loaded up 😎👍🏻
What did the import tax cost you for the Trukit? I was wanting one as they look fantastic quality but it’s already a couple of grand then will be the import tax on top of it. Think I will have to go for the Takacat 340lx as I can get one of them in the UK.
The import tax is a real downside mate, around £500 which I certainly wasn’t expecting and although the boat is spot on if I’d known I was going to get stung with that I would have went with a Honwave which was my second choice, but hey ho you only live once 😂
with the tohatsu the 10,15 and 20 HP are all the same engine, so u don't save any weight going smaller. Also ( I am in Australia) prices are very close. You notice that for many OEMs, where there use the same model with different config to archive different HP rating, prices are very close. hence I put 20 Hp Tohatsu on my SIB ;-), not weight save if I got the 15 , and nearly the same price.
My Suzuki 15 HP 4-stroke EFI weighs in at 97 pounds. There is no way I'd trust that skinny wire transom and a couple loops of PVC with my $3,500 investment.
@@username-mc7jw I don't think the transoms are the issue with these SIBs. Very stable etc. Probably the strongest part of the boat. ... the bigger worry about a sibs are punctures . Fishing hocks and rocks are the problem, the transom will survive even if the boat sinks. I used my sib a few times, def liked it, but having a second person on the boat , that hooks not just fish, ;-), ahm, well I upgraded to a polycraft. So transoms def good enough, airtubes, not so sure.
I am not being an inflatable luvver :D but _any_ boat that size at that speed will be a handful in any rough water. From what I have seen (looking at buying a blowboat) blowboats are the best in rough water!
Nice review. Question for you. Which boat would you rather be in if caught out in bad weather. The Catamaran or the U-shape with keel, assuming all else equal, such as both fully inflatable, both with airdecks, and assuming same boat lengths?
Hey buddy, I'm now in a dilemma between the Pro 365 and the Kat 330-both have their pros and cons. The Kat 330 is definitely easier and quicker to set up, by the looks of it? The engine, while the Kat 330 is rated for up to 15hp, I know you tried the 20hp, but is that ok? I'm aware the 15hp and 20hp are the same weight. I'd prefer the 20hp so if upgrading the boat etc I can swap it over? However, would using the 20hp on the Kat 330 affect ones insurance, as technically, it’s only rated for 15hp. My main use-family trips (4 plus the dog) in the harbour-the Kat 330 & Pro 365 should be solid, but the Kat might be definitely be less faff to get on the water compared to the Pro 365. ( I don't have the option to leave inflated) The Kat & Pro 365 should handle occasional spins out with a friend pretty well too. But, if I'm leaning toward the ease of use and setup, Kat?? or Pro! So was wondering what the best option would be for me?
I have 3 Options to buy, expensive Bombard C3 or C4 max 30HP, than an allroundmartin Poker 430 Boat max 30HP. And an colibri Catamaran 430 max rated for 20HP. But my quastion the Bombard and Poker 430 Boat have aluminium Floor, and the Bombard an would stiffed Kiel, and the Poker 430 an air filled keel. And the downside of the catamaran is it is only rated for 20HP engine, and it only have this air filled paddleboard floor. My quastion is: is it worth to by the catamaran or better this normal inflatable boats?
Think about where and how you plan to store it when not in use. Also, consider what you will be doing with the boat and how you plan to use it. Good luck. (Check out the zapcats)
One flaw in this boat, if shark attacks, how many chambers do you have? 1 or 2? ...yea that's the end of this boat. Saturn/Zodiac/True Kat ...have at least 3-4 chambers.
It appears that the Katsport is just a re-branded Takacat. I find the Takacat style transoms to be hokey and unacceptable. They look like a cheap design stolen from a $300 Mariner. Little PVC loops holding onto a 100# motor is a recipe for disaster. No thank you... Now, if they replaced that wire coat-hanger transom with aluminum or plywood, I'd be taking a serious look at this boat.
Brilliant video, and yet again tons of fun meeting up - that Kat flies!!
Glad you enjoyed it mate 🙂

@@TheHopefulAngler Cheers mate, the honwave t32 is another boat im looking at with a 6hp honda or 9.8 tohatsu.
Looks like a Takacat Clone model year 2017
Never knew i wanted one.. been doing a ton of research. Appreciate the honest review.
Looks great, I have seen a few of these boats starting to get about down south
A couple of cement blocks on the front in wind lol. Great for summer though.
Tiller handle extension and it would be sorted 🌊
There's a nearly identical Takakat that has a moulded fitting for a fin so you can use the floor separately as stand up paddleboard.
true kit and taka kat seems like have same designers.
Yeah this one is a rip off of Takacat
Ĺooked through Takacat site, did not see any mention of using the floor with fin fitting as a paddleboard--which model has this feature?

Lash tank fwd and push fuel hose between deck and sponson.
I have an Aquamarina aircat which is very similar. I have a Yamaha 15hp 2 stroke and it’s mental and fast!!
2 strokes are so fast!! That would have taken off like a rocket
Hi, isn't the power limit 9,9 HP?
@@DiegoGonzalez-pp3fs haha yes I think it is.
@@AirbornePirates haha it sure does.
How do you like the aquamarine?
Great little boat!
Thank you! Pretty fast 💨
Nice set-up mate. Wonder if we can get those boats in Sweden. No idea. But if we can it will be expensive.
Well done, top analysis I like the concept, does need more sophistication.
Nice outfit. Wet boat with the open transom
Another class video butt, look forward them in fact, never missed an episode. Cheers Matt 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Really appreciated matey! 🙌

I’d rather be in the Carbon Pro, seems a little more robust 👍
Same cat with yamy 15 hp two stroke 42km/h single
😆 can’t wait to try my 20hp on it

PVC inflatable boats are good for about 2 yrs before they require constant repairs. Hapylon is good for 10 yrs.
My 365 still going strong 2 years on 👍

There is more chance of me getting hit by lightening than a shark attacking the boat. I wont be chumming from this one :)
How heavy is that 9.8 tohatsu?
Around 40kg I believe
Looks like a duplicate of the Kiwi Takacat. Put on an Hankai 12hp 2 stroke and it will rip
Be calling u admiral soon if the fleet keeps increasing lol

You would have thought looking at it .. the air would get underneath and flip it.. obviously not
I think it’s possible with any SIB but I’m not worried 👍
@@AirbornePirates Your definitely bred for sturdy stock.. keep up the good work!
Who is Faster? You with your light catamaran on 10HP, or your friend with his heavy standart boat with 20HP?
Fairly equal I’d say but he can go out in worse weather
I've got an Avon Rover R3.10 that will do 20kts one up with a little 8hp, and it's a far more practical seaworthy design than a mini zapcat type thing

It looks a bit too small to be useful. There's barely room for the driver and a gas tank.
Бедные люди, они даже не знают о существовании катамаранов Ротан.
Shame its a blatant rip off of the Takacat
Who cares if it is 🤷🏻♂️
WAY smaller... no contest
Looks exactly like a takacat which for me has proven to be a total piece of junk.
Glued seam boats do not last as long as thermo welds as the glue joins stress over time plus are affected by sun UV
