    So simple, so pretty.
Interestingly, some other models come with fancy colours.
    Thanks for the demo

I had one of these. Back in the day.

My favorite all-analog drum machine (along with the STIX). I love the way these things sound.

I had one of these (well, by dad did, but I used it the most). The limitations were understandable, but the only thing I didn't like were cymbal sound, and the fact that there was no way to set a fill in to come on the 12th bar (I mean come on the 12 bar blues is pretty common!)
I found I could get a pretty convincing drum kit sound by running it through a guitar amp (my old AC30) with a light, slow tremolo effect, which added some slightly human dynamics to it. Great fun, and actually more flexible and versatile than most of the actual human drummers I used to be in bands with.
The SQ does indeed send a trigger out, I got it to run into a synth to trigger a bassline once. I never used the clock trigger but it would send a constant pulse, possibly to synchronise with synths that ran arpeggios, or with other drum machines, though I don't know how compatible it was as there was no real standard until Midi arrived in '84. It was really designed to be used with a matching latin percussion model (the LP 88), so you could sync the two together.
