    What people want: Parisian style urban density with quaint, pedestrian friendly streets and minimal cars and convenient access to mass transit.
    What billionaires decide to build: This BS

      Im pedestrian and I want that kind of project. Shopping inside in Montreal is better and useful than shopping in the street. The winter in Montreal make us difficult to find a way to go out. And it's a nice addon for our city I find. Sometimes I find that our city is old and the malls are very out to date and sometimes, that city is boring, especially for us people that living in RDP, so this modern mall will be a nice add for mtl

    For those who are not familiar with Montreal, the development is being built next to the interchange between the main east-west and north-south highways that cross the city. The problem is that the main north-south highway does not cross the east west highway directly, there is a bit of a jog along the east-west highway (2.7 km or 1.7 miles) connecting the northern and southern branches of the main north-south highway. That short jog and the two interchanges at each end of it are always congested. This development will make traffic much worse in that area where it's already very bad. The only good thing about the site is that it's connected to a metro station that is presently one of the least busy.

      and the metro station is on the other side of the Highway... The target market for that ridiculous project doesn't use public transit.

    As a montrealer, many of us perceive this project with positivity. Shopping inside in Montreal is useful and in some season, better than shopping in the street. For example, and the winter in Montreal is brutal, the most brutal in north America, that make us difficult to find a way to go out in january and febuary. So I dont see no reason to be mad about that projet. We see that as a + for our city and something . Sometimes I find that our city is old and the malls are very out to date and sometimes, that city is boring, especially for us people that living in RDP, so this modern mall will be a nice add for our city

      it rains all last winters ( 2022, 2023 , 2024 ) and 2 snowstorm . you are so dramatic . Toronto is even colder than Montreal because of the humidity level from lake Ontari . Chicago is colder , windy and gets more snow than Montreal . Summer are tropical in Montreal and often warmer than Miami.

    Do we really want Louis Vuitton and Gucci in a sustainable city? If yes, we did not understand sustainability!

    • @123benny4
      @123benny4 5 днів тому +1

      Exactly. No one really gets that. Self-sustainability means you work with what you already have, maintain what you already have, and keep nature in mind. We need to be able to sustain ourselves, and not rely on our needs being met from outside sources. This whole area should have gone back to nature and made into an urban forest. There are so many things we need in this city and this project isn't one of them.

    Montréal se veut en français avec l'institut économique de Montréal. Mais de quelle économie vous voulez en 2024. Je préfère le Montréal des années 70,80 et 90. Le temps de Blue Bonnet, les Expos de Montréal, les calèches du vieux Montréal, la lutte Québécoise, un centre ville animée et j'en passe. Plusieurs sièges sociaux ont abandonné la ville pour s'installer ailleurs. Trop de taxes, trop d'amendes, trop de permis, trop de réglementations, trop de contrôle. Trop de construction et des cônes routière. L'immigration ne s'adapte pas comme souhaité. Beaucoup trop de pauvreté et de sans abris. Vous voulez de l'économie, alors donnez les moyens aux citoyens de se divetifier et de se créer. Montréal me dégoûte. Voilà se que j'en pense

    HAVING WATCHED THIS VIDEO CLIP , I must say this project sucks , I heard about Louis Vuitton and Gucci and three thousand and two hundred fifty condos , electric transport , bicycle paths , and lovely living conditions , but no where did I hear a number for low cost of living dwellings , another project were they we paid the fine , and no dwellings that are affordable housing . I mean we really can not have street people walking into Gucci . CAN WE !

The parents will go there with they childs for nice little daily memorys. ▶In Montreal At ''Plaza St-Hubert'' young people like this street for restaurants and shopping. This year, from 4 jully to 25 august 2024, Plaza Saint-Hubert is free of cars between Bellechasse street and Jean-Talon Est street! *⁉At 9:17 it's not the Montreal city street. Here the bus are white and blue. Also at 9:50 and 9:53 it's not at Montreal.

    This along with Mayor Plante's agenda will seal the fate of downtown Montreal.
    Traffic on the Decarie expressway had a design capacity of 100,000 when it was built and now it is at 350,000. push that up to 420,000 and there will be a lot of frustrated commuters.
    The interchange with the 40 was rebuilt a few years ago and may have to undergo expensive modification to ease a bottleneck that could extend 5 kms in all directions.

    • @nottellinnoone2074

    The project itself isn't that bad, but if they manage at least to keep the old building would be nice. People who own property across the street will have a price boom in already expensive Montreal. Still, the highway that connects is already congested beyond belief. The city's 15th Highway route is a nightmare from a horror movie
