Hi Pompzy. I enjoyed watching this video very much. My response to the Olympic games is simple. While everyone else is debating what should be done or if games are on, I'll be relaxing watching your channel instead :) Thank you for making the best videos.

    Pompzy!
Been waiting for some new videos, your uploads are a bit more quiet recently. Hope all is well! Me and my wife love your channel.
I’d also love if in one of your upcoming videos you talk a little bit about how Brisbane has changed with the flooding of southerners into Brisbane during Covid. Have you noticed a big difference? It was recently reported that Brisbane is now officially more expensive than Melbourne due to the rapid increase in population. I wonder if you have noticed a change over time as you are frequently in and around exploring the city!
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Hey, In regards to the floods. No big difference.. Just feels like it had never happened along the Brisbane River line. it gets cleaned up pretty fast. Brisbane overtakes Melbourne as Australia's third most expensive city to buy property for the first time in 15 years. Eating out MacDonald's/Restaurants have increased on cost. Check out my live streams when im on so you know what's happening! Thanks for watching.

Great Video Pompzy. Much appreciate your good work along the way. My opinion about this Olympic Game debacle for Brisbane is rather a disaster and your right. It is over the price cost and everyone later has to pay for it. If only the whole Games didn't had to be in the Billions of dollars. But thats how business runs. Maybe they might just reduce it but will make it look like Brisbane isn't the best yet to come. I rather enjoy your videos instead of the Olympic games hehe :) Take care

Thanks for your feedback. Yes the cost is total exaggerated lol. I reckon they will just slightly reduce it down rather then having to spent the max amount, but it sure will make Queensland rather embarrassing to the rest of the world so whatever the plan is im sure there's something for everyone to enjoy at the right time.

Heyo Pompzy whats up bru! haha lets go for this chill out walk series. I like it. Next time ill give you challenge to do if you had a way for me to pay you lol. Oh well love the scenery views. Not really into Olympics. They can spend that much money by building a skyscraper or something right?

Hi i like the city. Great views and good work done. I'm not a huge fan of the whole Sporting events like the Olympic games so spending that much money for only half a few weeks is a total rip-off. Yeah i heard about that local bus crashed into the wall the other day on the news source online. New York is even worse when it comes to chaotic cities and accident happens daily there. lol nice im sure the dude would quickly take out the phone and susbcribe the heck of it. Good content bro. Keep it up. Spring hill looks nice but hardly no one outside other then cars all the times.

Thanks for bringing this topic up in regards to the Hosting the Olympic games for brisbane Australia. I reckon everything in the Queensland government is a disgrace and broken into bits and they have no damn idea what to do. One they afraid to spend the money because Queenslanders don't expect to pay the bill back and second is that the current stadiums in Brisbane does not have to capacity to yet currently accommodate a large Olympic games. I think they should just upgrade the existing stadiums. Yeah the Gabba stadium is rather tight crip as you say. Maybe they shouldn't have built the Gabba stadium in the middle of the neighborhood filled with houses around it. Because no one will destroy thier own house just for the propose to expand the Gabba stadium. Pompzy i will vote for you to take over Brisbane and whatever happens it will be built bigger then ever before whatever it is haha. By the way love the video walk and that funny part of the dude looking back at you when you mentioned to subscribe to the channel ! Stay awesome my man.

Yes it is big business when it comes to hosting the world stage for the Olympic games. Spending over 3.5 + Billions and more just for 16 days event is well beyond mind. That amount you might as well built something greater for the city itself that can stay permanently. As you know after the Olympic games some things will have to be strip out and some things will stay permanently or whatever the case may be. lol thanks bro glad you like the video otherwise! Enjoy.

I don’t like the Olympic plans. My idea for them would be to build a temporary stadium out of shipping containers much like the one at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. It along with the athletes villages would located next to the international cruise terminal. A new arterial road linking the old gateway and gateway bridge to the site, then have the road go under the runway and emerge linking up with airport drive by the domestic terminal. I would also re-open and duplicate the Doomben line to pinkenba then extend it to this stadium site. Express city cats from the CBD and shuttle buses from parking at Brisbane airport will also serve the temporary stadium. Then after the games, we could sell off the temporary stadium to the next host and then the land would be given to private developers to develop into apartments, mixed use developments, green space and a major shopping centre. This will also make the international cruise terminal feel a lot more welcoming like Portside wharf did and would improve transport access significantly. The cruise terminal itself would be upgraded to accommodate 2 ships at once to accommodate future growth. The redevelopment would also be a bit like what happened with south bank after expo and most importantly, it’s close proximity to Brisbane airport can enable it to become an important world trade and economic hub for the region. The Athletes village meanwhile would be permanent and will be sold off to help solve the housing crisis. The rest of the development on the temporary stadium site after the games also help further solve the housing crisis and bring in a legacy. The idea here is build permanent infrastructure to temporarily serve the Olympic venue, assemble a cheap modern temporary stadium made of shipping containers, host the games, sell it off then build the permanent legacy development which the permanent infrastructure is intended to serve. I would call it Stadium 32. As for Brisbane live, if we can reclaim the old Myer uptown centre, we can bulldoze it and put Brisbane live there, right in the heart of the CBD. Queen street bus station would also get a much needed upgrade. But if they touch that hungry jacks, I will be going to war.

Thanks for your feedback. Very interesting to your ideas! I too don't like the whole Olympic strategy plan for Brisbane.. Time is running out plus the the cost involved!. The Gabba is far too Crip to even bother a large opening ceremony for the world stage to see, However sizes does not matter nowadays for staging the Olympic games. But it sure will be an embarrassing for Queensland for the world to see.. It's why they need a better plans to built this but i reckon from how things are going its simply going down hill at this stage. But there's always hope if they can plan ahead today rather then tomorrow's. Building things like this takes years to complete and the rest of the whole infrastructures and the add up cost. Thanks for watching!

QSAC doesn’t have great public transport but using it could allow for a branch of the metro and maybe even a spur off the rail line from Salisbury to QSAC. Could even continue onto Garden city if built underground as then it could connect to a major hub. But even a loop shuttle like Sydney’s T7 train could serve QSAC. Ideally Victoria park they should just shut up and build it. It’s close to Kelvin Grove, Herston and RBWH on metro and you could also have a pedestrian walkway to the e Exhibition station which events could also be hosted there, essentially making a giant Olympic park. It would be hard for a station directly beneath Victoria park due to the CRR portal tho. Another option is maybe put the stadium in the old Mayne yard, or Albion park but you will have to move the train yards elsewhere with Mayne and with Albion it’s too close to homes. Suncorp and the Gabba are also too close to peoples houses. I feel the current premier doesn’t realise that Suncorp is pretty densed like the Gabba, but it’s a bit nicer. Maybe Brisbane should change the opening and closing ceremonies to like a street parade or something and have it end in the stadium. Be pretty unique having the sports teams march through the CBD and along the story bridge and through south bank and then into Suncorp or wherever it will happen. Alternatively we could make use of some venues on the Gold Coast from the commonwealth games but transport is the main problem then. It’s either spend $3.4 billion on a new venue or $3.4 billion on upgrading existing venues plus building the suitable public transport out there. I think it’s become too much of a political football. If they don’t just start with something then half the venues will still be under construction or only partially built when the games come. They should of had a plan and let the community have a say on it and then stick to it long before they won the bid. I feel the planning has been very secret and decided in a dictatorship kind of decision making. They need more young people on the board making some of the decisions, as well as those more mature minds. The young should choose the legacy they will live and the mature minds are to help guide us to get the games right. They need a dedicated committee and compromise. We can’t keep hating each others ideas because we are members of different political parties, companies, groups, backgrounds, whatever. Maybe also get people who have planned the Olympics in other cities like some members from Sydney 2000, Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024, London 2012 and also planners and designers of other major events like the commonwealth games, the Asian games and also the FIFA World Cup. I am sure with all those creative minds who planned stadiums for all those events could help out with the decisions. As for the costs look at privatisation. Make private companies build the stadiums then run the stadiums. You could do the same with road building and public transport.

I dont like this Olympic game plan for Brisbane. It sounds like a disaster by your Qld government. They should of plan is ahead years ago. But Brisbane is beautiful and super clean place. Why dont they just plan the built new things away from the whole houses been around it. Why have everything has to be so close to a city. Its not as if the city is forgotten by a tourist knowing if Brisbane ever has a city to begin with. I'm not worry about the Olympic. But i do prefer your videos. POMPZY love ya work dude keep it on going., I'm watching :)
