Thanks for finding this episode. I saw it only once before, on TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while I was babysitting a neighbor's kid, maybe around 1975-1976. Always remembered it, as well as Tidal Wave, which I saw around the same time.
Ah . . . "1975-1976". People post a lot of similar comments on this channel, so it's maybe worth explaining explicitly why it was created. I watched in Ct., probably in the late 60's early 70's, with my older sister & brother! Just found this channel and watched all the episodes 1-3. Love, love this show, then & now! Thank you for putting them on here!
Thank you for finding this episode! I have purchased many OSB dvd's and did not have this one. However, when anyone asked me about the series I always told them about this particular episode because it's the one I remembered the most.
Great seeing Richard Davalos from East Of Eden (James Dean). He was such a good looking, and talented performer. He passed on March 2016. Sad to see him pass on at 85.
Considering I am in my late 40s I can't believe I've never heard of this show before. I'm a Twilight Zone freak, some Outer Limits...but why was this one not more advertised? Edgar Allan Poe would have loved this series
@Heidi V: Yes, I only discovered OSB myself 3 years ago . . . and I had the same kind of questions. Apparently, it was only syndicated in some major US cities in the 1960s. It's certainly an equal to T-Zone and Limits in quality but somehow never caught on in popular imagination in the same way. That its name was not originally "One Step Beyond" . . . may have contributed to that: ua-cam.com/video/7kWGHAKPQvE/v-deo.html
I'm in my early 50s and only found One Step Beyond a couple days ago. I grew up watching shows like Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. Great television!
I first learned about 1SB in the late 70s, when a magazine article about a new series to be called "the Next Step Beyond" said that it was going to be a follow-up to the legendary "One Step Beyond." I had wondered about it ever since. Then, only a very few years ago, I stumbled across a DVD collection "The Very Best of One Step Beyond," released by Mill Creek Entertainment. It has 70 episodes; I've been looking for the rest ever since.
The future ripped us off man! I didn't want to be LIVING one of these epidodes, permanently trapped in the scene with these actors! I wanted to be watching more innovative fictional drama on bigger and better TV's with surround sound, a hot chick by side etc. Who'd a thought the future would be a total bust?
A friend gave me a set of this series. I never watched it. It wasn't the Twilight Zone or the Outer Limits which I saw as a kid. Been watching OSB on youtube. I gotta find where I put that box set!! Thriller with Boris Karloff and Alfred Hitchcock Presents all great shows I missed out on but have seen on youtube. We only had 3 networks back then but alot of great tv shows!
@@fanaticat1 What you see here on this channel is mostly from those DVDs. I standardized the color to be as B&W as possible (no yellow, blue, etc) . . . synchronized the sound (biggest issue) . . . edited out splices from VHS copying (also very common) . . . and added clean intro to many.
@@one-step-beyond-1959 Absolutely agree, incredible job on cleaning up the DVDs! I once got ripped off when I ordered DVDs of a show, that I didn't realize wasn't officially on DVD. I paid one hundred and sixty dollars, plus shipping & handling, for junk. Some episodes had commercials, some didn't have any, the sound was terrible, the video was terrible and the worst part was that the DVDs were burned from a PC, and they would only play on a few DVD players. But that's how you learn, I should have done my research. Thanks for the hard work!
@@ballisticcoefficientdepend9811 Thanks. It's often a tough choice: poor quality or no DVD at all. There is only one episode on this channel where the picture remains really awful . . . even after my work on it. And maybe 5 or so where the sound is sort of annoying. I've been hoping that maybe my efforts would encourage release of official DVDs for Seasons 2 & 3. But after 4 years . . . still hasn't happened.
Well, "follow the money" is usually the answer. Presumably Paramount doesn't think it can make money on a release of Seasons 2 and 3. There might also be some copyright issues, but they just come down to money. If I get enough response to my UA-cam channel and my website, I plan to look into this further . . .
At the same time, this may be among the most straightforward OSB episodes in terms of the type of paranormal experience involved and how it manifested. Excellent dramatization of both . . .
The animal experience mentioned is called psi-trailing. There was a wonderful and moving book by Robert Westall called Blitzcat that used this as a story line.
The show about the "Zanties" scared me, especially as our heating made sounds like the Zanties chittering. Made for many a sleepless night! Years later, I saw the episode again and realized the "Zanties" were made of plastic, pulled along on a string (how low was their budget?!), but I still respect the show and the fear I felt at the time..

Kemal Mustafa ...ONE STEP BEYOND is supposedly based on documented facts. Some of the stories really aren't anymore bizarre than the stories will hear today. Still the music WONDERFULLY FREAKS ME OUT!
Outstanding show
my son got me a .. 50 episode DVD of One Step Beyond - Great !!!
Congrats
Thanks for the memories i use to watch these Episodes on TV with my parents and sisters back in Brooklyn NY as a boy.....
Glad you found this channel . . .
Thanks for keeping it safe for others to enjoy ..Keep up the good work...
I watched in Ct., probably in the late 60's early 70's, with my older sister & brother! Just found this channel and watched all the episodes 1-3. Love, love this show, then & now! Thank you for putting them on here!
Thanks for posting this missing episode.
Peace
To me seeing black and white tv shows takes you back
@Jaime Perez: Just rotate the rabbit ears on your PC until you get good reception . . .
What a SUPER story! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watch this when I was a kid. People told me that the episodes on One Step Beyond were real.
Amazing episode, with scenes shot with a handheld camera . WOW. Thanks for the upload.
OSB episodes are well-crafted, no doubt about it . . .
Thanks for sharing ❤
I watched OSB when I was 14 along with The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits.
Love this series! 😍
thank you for sharing these great episodes
The twilight zone, this one step beyond , the amazing stores 👏
The future ripped us off man! I didn't want to be LIVING one of these epidodes, permanently trapped in the scene with these actors! I wanted to be watching more innovative fictional drama on bigger and better TV's with surround sound, a hot chick by side etc. Who'd a thought the future would be a total bust?
All great stories! And it's that damned creepy music at the end of each episode still gives me nightmares!
one step beyond, outer limits, twilight zone the classic 3 then the 70s gave us night gallery
Tales of tomorrow and lights out also
A friend gave me a set of this series.
A great story I believe it thank you for Sharon the video 👍🇺🇸
Wish they would put the whole series out on a decent DVD set.
There must have been poor sales of the Season 1 release -- so CBS Paramount has no motivation to release Seasons 2 & 3.
My first time to watch 60's show and I like it!
of all the 50's sci fi series this is the one scared shitless
Thank You .For sharing just awesome !
Zoey Windy 1
The golden age of U.S. t.v. the twilight zone, the outer limits, and now a shadow of what is now American t.v.
I shore do love it!
Another great OSB episode.
Season 3 has more top-rated episodes than the other two seasons combined. Of the top 20 OSB episodes, 11 are from season 3 . . .
Why haven't they issued Seasons 2 & 3 yet?
What has been the holdup?
Well, "follow the money" is usually the answer. Presumably Paramount doesn't think it can make money on a release of Seasons 2 and 3. There might also be some copyright issues, but they just come down to money. If I get enough response to my UA-cam channel and my website, I plan to look into this further . . .
Maybe it’s the wine, but I see Henry Fonda as just about every character. 💕
...Great spooky-kinda episode. Thanks much, Ivette : }
At the same time, this may be among the most straightforward OSB episodes in terms of the type of paranormal experience involved and how it manifested. Excellent dramatization of both . . .
WOW! I remember seeing this, as a kid. Probably 50 yrs ago... whoa! 3:)
@Tony Bautista: Glad you found it again (!)
Love these stroryies born in 1955 🙋💕💕👀💕💕👀💕
That's okay. We don't discriminate against young people here . . .
me too Jan 1955.
I'm 62 and these use to scare me , was great to find these somewhere again. I only watch black and white t.v.. like the scary without the gore.
Me too! 12/12/55.
ALL TRUE DOCUMENTED STORIES - GREAT !!!
Awesome episode
Awesome episode!! Thanks!
The animal experience mentioned is called psi-trailing. There was a wonderful and moving book by Robert Westall called Blitzcat that used this as a story line.
It's amusing how man's genius in creating tools of communication are so antiquated today!
the guy shuffling cards,is that richard davalos who played james deans brother in EAST OF EDEN 1954
This episode aired the night I was born.
THE ZANTIE MISFITS was an Outer Limits episode.
Don't forget science fiction theater ❤o u eee o u😊
just left him there . never looking for him . nice people. they got your back bro
Very heartwarming
Real sci-fi not like todays🎉😊❤
OMG they doxxed Richard Adams! JK these are some of the best old programming I've found on UA-cam; many thanks for the uploads.
Glad you found them . . .
Tubi was missing 3 episodes from season 3. This was one of them.
I checked. It's missing a lot more than three. Almost ALL of the British episodes are missing . . .
@@one-step-beyond-1959 I found that out later.
A lesson the importance to have friends whose attention can be a vehicle for Gods attention!
Love this show
Glad you found it . . .
Beyond step one is my fav
Wonder if anyone ever looked up this Richard Adams.
