I'm guessing that Newland was at least 6'5". And I think that's probably the best guess overall. If he were much taller than that . . . there'd have been prejudice against him in casting throughout his career. There are not a lot of actors taller than 6'5" . . . and those that are, we mostly know for being niche characters. Christopher Lee, John Cleese, and Tim Robbins are all 6'5". James Arness was 6'7" and Fred Gwynne 6'8" -- both KNOWN for being very tall. So Newland at 6'5" seems the most likely . . .
I'm not sure John Newland was quite that tall. If Lois Maxwell was 5 ft. 8, in this story, she's wearing high heels, say 2 inches high. That'd make her 5 ft. 10. In the beginning of this story, they're walking around one another. Newland is definitely taller, but not towering over her (I'm 5 ft. 9 myself; my husband is 6 ft. 3, and he's definitely a lot taller than me, comparing us to Maxwell and Newland in the beginning of this story.) I'd be more likely to believe he's around 6 ft. 2 or 3.
@katylake212: The heels are making her look TALLER than she actually is . . . and so making Newland look SHORTER in comparison. I still see enough difference between frame 1:54 (Newland) and frame 2:16 (Maxwell) to stick with my estimate that Newland is 6 ft 5 . . .
Rock Hudson was 6’5, and he was in countless movies and tv shows. I may have to disagree on being locked into their characters simply due to their height. James Arness stayed with Gunsmoke because they fit perfectly with his lifestyle. Look at John Wayne and Kirk Douglass in the “War Wagon”. Kirk kept adding lifts to his boots to appear taller when next to Wayne. I think it all boils down to their acting skills. But? Hey… I’m just an older guy with an opinion.

I saw one episode of this series for the first time yesterday.. Im back today 3/10/2020. I've noticed quite a few guilty people in many of these shows where they've murdered someone and the supernatural activities caused them to confess.
The living don't have to have a guilty conscience to project and for someone else to see their apparition. All there needs to be is a connection of sort with that person to see them in a vision.

Thank-you for posting, some truth in this.
Indeed, a beautiful show that rattle my thoughts. I'm so glad I don't believe in a scientific square box life.
First time I have seen this show and Newland following the wife around the house frightened the crap out of me lol
What happened was psych energy implant to the house. Like a loop recording going over again. As remember the house was built from living things like wood. The stones may very small amount of crystals imbedded too!
Like in The Stone Tapes by Nigel Kneale.
Girl you got a great guy who made you breakfast in bed and you tell him to make you more and he does lol 😂😂😂love it!
@Sha Leyva: Sure. Every couple has its own interpersonal dynamics. If it works for both . . . it works.
@@one-step-beyond-1959 That's very true! Now I just wished my husband would cook me breakfast but he can't even cook the egg😭😁😁thanks for responding have a great day!! New sub here😘
Yes, and he made the breakfast wearing a suit and tie. Classy.
@@paulhagen5645 I guess his tux was at the cleaners.
@@paulhagen5645 everyone wore suits to make breakfast back then. Now I'd be happy to have a man make me breakfast wearing jammies.
Don't people ever wonder why John Newland is always around & in their houses? He's the real ghost. Sometimes they see him, sometimes he's invisible...
This is classic TV memories of long time ago
lois maxwell was also in THE HAUNTING 1963,one of the best ghost movies of the 1960s
About 11 years ago I found a series DVD of this real cheap so I bought it. I've forgotten how many episodes are on it. My Dad remembers this series, Mom doesn't.
Never new these shows excisted if it wasn't for talking pictures, ( great channel).
We I'll definitely be watching them all.
GREAT.😁
Glad you found this channel . . .
Yeah theres a strange man in the house stalking me and talking to himself.
At 2:23--she calls her husband's office, sounding concerned. Did anyone else think, "No wonder she's concerned. There's a creepy man walking around in her house. HE JUST FOLLOWED HER UP THE STAIRS!!!"
I'm not so sure about "creepy". Maybe a generation gap here (?) Newland is certainly tall, dark, and handsome, even if it's in a 1950's way that we no longer appreciate. So he may very well be her type, for all we know . . .
hahahahaha !
Stephanie Faris 😂
Even if he was the best looking man alive I’d definitely be weirded out about him following me up the stairs 😂
The host in the scene introducing the story was copied by Rod Serling and Danny Thomas in The Danny Thomas Hour ('67-'68).
If I had a big tall bloke following me around the house I'd be freaked out too!
Watched this as a kid of maybe 13. Whenever you would hear that eerie music you knew instantly that something strange was about to occur.
Thanks for sharing❣👀
Glad you found it . . .
this is a good one thanks
Wow, I dont recall ever hearing about this show b4. I watched Madness' 'One Step Beyond' video a couple of days ago. Today, this shows up. Interesting.
They also brought it back briefly in the 1970s.
I saw one episode of this series for the first time yesterday.. Im back today 3/10/2020. I've noticed quite a few guilty people in many of these shows where they've murdered someone and the supernatural activities caused them to confess.
I love Madness. Sometimes I turn the sound down and imagine they did the theme tune to this show 🤣
That music always freaked me out.
The music was great.
The living don't have to have a guilty conscience to project and for someone else to see their apparition. All there needs to be is a connection of sort with that person to see them in a vision.
Especially: parents and children . . . twins . . . and husbands & wives.
These were great in the time. Tho I watched them as a kid..loved them. No replacement for the Twilight zone. But these r supposed real stories.
And that’s why we have Valium
"Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill,
there's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter
of a mother's little helper"

Something we all can create. But some of us can't break through the barrier without overpowering stress. We should learn about this and learn how to control it. We honestly have the power in many ways. God help us to understand and protect us all.
The music they sometimes play on these was always eerie and scary to me as a young girl and still are, but now kind of beautiful at the same time.
LOL IF everybody told everybody about their family, nobody would get married!
Great episode and the music !
@Vivian Ruiz: We have several videos on our channel about OSB music specifically . . .
Wow finally all the episodes that ran in england to give more historic account the last thirteen episodes of third season . I believe Hollywood didn't want to make any more and england kept there bargain to continue maken episodes. Great stuff
The top FIVE rated episodes are from Season 3 . . . and SEVEN of the top TEN. THREE of the top TEN are British: ua-cam.com/video/IwBSsLcsCJs/v-deo.html
New Sub, Thank you for uploading!! I loved this show.
@Bren Guerra: Glad you found this channel . . .
Love these! Thank you 💖
The scene where she first hears the little girl calling for her was sort of bizarre. In the middle of the night when a mother hears, or thinks she hears, her child screaming like this from another room I do not believe she would take the time to put on her house slippers and her housecoat. But that's just me.
I'm afraid you've missed something. This woman is pregnant . . . but childless. So she's NOT a mother hearing her child . . .
Maryann Anderson They always did a scene like that in the movies. No matter what was going on the actor threw on his robe and slippers. It never made sense.
@@songbirdy I can understand the slippers, might step on something sharp, or track something back into the bed. Also get cold feet. As for that "robe", it neither covers anything nor can keep one warm!
Yes she took her good old time. Lol
"Who are they"? What on earth did you ask HER for, she watched the same couple run up the same steps you did!
What an ending. Wasn't expecting that.
Is this Miss Moneypenny of James Bond movies🤔
