  • Ride along as and see what it's like to be inside a machine that can cut a 24' diameter tree in less than 1 second.

    My family has a long history of logging in Oregon, but I am the first generation in many that are not now nor ever been loggers. I love your videos for the simple reason that it is a connection to my grandparents and family that spent their lives logging. Thank you for continuing to make videos!!

    My grandpa did this, which is why I started watching you. I got to see his machine that looked just like his other than it had a pincher that snipped the tree like a big bolt cutter

      Those are called Tree Shears - www.tigercat.com/product/2000-bunching-shear/ - really good in areas where you have restrictions on the kind of cutting head you can use due to fire risk or if you're in rocky conditions as they will not suffer as much damage as a hot saw with all the teeth getting smashed on rocks. They're a bit slower but very good in the right application.

    Thanks for the explanation of the operation. Would like if you explained a little more in each video. Like what kind of trees, how you know length to cut.
    How the trees are replanted. Just a little bit of explaining in each video. Even if the same things are repeated. Makes videos a lot more interesting.

    Have you ever had a Tree Hugger chained to your equipment?

    Tim,,, heard you mention you were cutting as low as possible, and that makes sense,,, can you define "low" as it pertains to this machine? Cleaning the front carriage looked a lot like busting a beaver dam. Excellent video sir.

    I was wondering why you don't use any Cat equipment?? In Canada Cat parts availability and service is second to none.. I have had many different brands of equipment but Cat is my choice simply because of their service and parts...

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  7 років тому

      +Sir Wally Gator you said it, service and parts. We don't have a dealer here that offers both.

    • @sirwallygator565
      @sirwallygator565 7 років тому

      Yes not sure why Cat is so aggressive in Ontario but here service after the sale is everything with Cat plus I have never waited more 24 hours for a part to be delivered.. On the phone they tell you when you will get it or when you can pick it up.. All the Cat stores work together to deliver parts no matter where you are... Every other company I had to wait a week or more for parts if it's not in stock
