"Mick, he's got a saw!" "That's not saw, this is a saw". Crocodile Dundee.

It should be illegal to have a dpf on any equipment. The amount of fires started by such a stupid invention.

These fires are all too common. Just touch a stone with the saw or have a trackpad slide across a rock and we have ignition. My guys were all the last to be shut down as I made sure hose lays were in place and Mark 3 Wajax pumps run every day so we could deal with any fires that may pop up and a fire watch all night for just because. The extra costs were absorbed by our continuing to stay working while most others were not working and paying standby $ with no product being loaded and on it's way to the mill. I sure miss the mad house of logging. RETIREMENT SUCKS, LOL.

Some commentary would have been really nice and helpful. Title said something about a suspicious fire. Nothing ever shown, said, explained or evidence to support a curious fire of any kind. And doesn’t seem to be any damage to faller, I’d be willing to bet operator caused more damage than the fire. Running equipment in that kind of extra fine dirt, dust, ash from burnt tree bark, tree residue, all of the ground litter that’s been burnt even with # 3 to # 5 micron air filters in the filtration system. The fine dust can and will do damage the naked eyes can’t spot and will score cylinder walls, rings, valves, valve seats, and other parts as combustion air is taken into and flows through the combustion air system. Change inner and outer air filters immediately and stay out of the dust bowl. Be safe and may god look over you and your crew, logging even with a feller/ buncher is extremely dangerous work!

Don’t think it was burnt before they started

Love the context. Typical UA-cam. Zero info given. Posted just for clicks.

If they want to keep logging check out my comments above. We always kept logging when others were shut down. Have a water source and hose lays in place. I never lost time on my blocks because of a fire that was/is caused by a machine in any way.

Shouldn't have those things on anything but frozen ground a spark from the hot saw hitting a rock will start a fire.

That's a dumb thing to say. So they're only supposed to log during the winter. There's precautions that are put in place during the summer, dummy.
