I remember back in the day watching this thinking I was watching a brilliant suspense, thriller. Then Vampires showed up and it got even better. A timeless classic.
That was awesome!! Retired truck driver here. Use to go through that area all the time and I loved From dust till dawn. Would have never known those locations without your awesome channel.. Thank You!
I've fallen in love with Salma Hayek on more than one occasion...... And that dance scene is certainly one of the occasions! As always really enjoyed the video thank you for taking us on the adventure.
Fantastic breakdown of all the locations! I worked with Fred Williamson on another production and he had some great stories about shooting the scenes inside the Titty Twister.
In the film Cheech Marin actually played three roles, one as a border guard, one of the damned denizens in the bar, and Carlos at the end saying it was just a place that was open he'd been past.
I love movies, but never would I think to take a vacation to see where they filmed something. However, the way you recreate shots and portray the passage of time is so unbelievably interesting. There’s film, history, geography, pop culture, technology… thanks for all your hard work and education Grimms
Proud to say I saw this film in the cinema on opening night. Did not know what to expect and boy did this surprise me and deliver big time! This is when I also realized George Clooney is not too bad after all. I was a very happy 17 year old that evening leaving the cinema. Good Times!
This was one of the first dvds I bought when I switched from vhs to dvd. There wasn’t much of a selection back then but this is one of my favorite movies of all time!
I was a stump man on dust till Dawn, when the vampires became vampires. Also worked with Robert Rodriguez on desperado. I was the one opening a guitar case before Antonio Banderas goes crazy in the shoot out in the bar
It was HARDLY underrated, it grossed almost 60 million in theaters, spawned a video game, a sequel, a prequel and a tv show. It has a good Rotten Tomatoes score, won Clooney some awards and it even got a great review from Ebert.
I had the pleasure of watching this movie at age 6 or 7. Thanks to cable TV lol. Loved it ever since. It never gets old. Thank you grimmlife for making these videos. Your channel is the best to do this type of content. This one is badass.
You two have hit it out of the park yet again, with one of my favourite movies. Love the location comparisons from the past to present day but somewhat saddened that some of the structures haven't survived. Great vid and of course the narration is spot on! Thanks again, from western Canada 🇨🇦.
Great Movie! My Friend, Ernest M. Garcia was the bouncer in the bar of that movie. I had the pleasure of acting in two plays he had wrote around 2012-2013. He has alot of stories about that movie '
My great grandmother worked at "Benny's" for years (it was actually a little convenience store)....you can actually see her house in the opening scene......if you guys haven't been to Club Ed movie set you should check it out ....so many movies and music videos have been filmed there
The first time I ever got drunk was while watching this movie. My buddy brought over some MGD and tequila, we grilled some steaks and drank during this movie. This movie has a special place in my heart 😂🤣
My favorite movie! Have the dvd, blu-ray, screenplay, comic, video game and the movie poster on my wall. Had the pleasure of getting to meet and hang out with Kurtzman a few years ago. Thank you for this video.
I loved this vlog and this movie! Had NO clue that just beyond Alien Jerky was the road to the Titty Twister!!! I do hope there are more shooting sites for FDTD coming soon. Gotta stay cool in the blistering sun, and y'all were in Victorville, which means Emma Jean's Holland Burger joint - pattie melt on rye bread with chili fries and a Sprite - then go roller skating at Holiday Skate to work it off! I bet Jessica's lime green yellow hair would sparkle under the disco ball!
Awesome video guys.I LOVE From Dusk Till Dawn.Especially Tom Savinis Crotch gun😂.As always you guys are amazing at finding these locations.Cant wait to see what's next!!
I went to the cinema to watch this gem . What an absolute treat this movie is. Great cast , script , locations and direction. Thank you for sharing, love your vlogs.
Great work!! Wish i was there. From Dusk Till Dawn is truly a special movie to me. Each time i watch the different trailers and watch the whole movie or fragments of it a i feel transported to that surreal contemporary ancient world influenced by the American western culture blended with the Mexican prehispanic culture. Love both parts of the movie, but once our protagonists cross to Mexico and arrive to the Titty Twister bar i feel transported to that frenetic energetic magical place. The Titty Twister is the heart and soul of the movie. A place somewhere in the middle of nowhere with flames coming out the roof top and the fron facade and decorated with multicolored neon light signs in English and Spanish the American way combined with the Mexican prehispanic elements. A world filled with with crazy, cool characters, bikers, truckers, and i couldn't believe it when i spotted for the first time, after 25 years, a prehispanic Chac Mool sculpture placed outside the bar at the center of the front yard. That's when i realized the movie was indeed special. And if i keep going i will not finish as there is so many more details inside the bar and the film as a whole. The ultra cool soundtrack with songs from the house band Tito & Tarantula singing Angry Cockroaches, After Dark with Salma Hayek memorable dance, The Blasters' melancholic Dark Night opening and endings theme. And that final closure image skyrocketed the film to legendary status. Thank you for taking me back to that special place 💯
This also is one of my favorites too. I lived in Ridgecrest California for awhile. I found out it was filmed not too far from there. Love this vlog. Thank you guys.
I’m working on my Halloween playlist already. Tito & Tarantula are already on it but you inspired me to put a sample of Danny Trejo’s introduction in front of it. 👍🏻🇬🇧
There was a time when Calico wasn't paved and didn't have all the "gift shops" selling candles and trinkets. It was an actual former silver mining town that was laid out for people to see how the old town was set up - at no cost by the way. Unfortunately, in my opinion, as with many other historical places, some organization had to commercialize it. Another great video! Loved seeing the old desert locations again. Thank you!!
I've never seen From Dusk To Dawn. It looks like a good bbn one. I'll add it to the list. We have a Fire Stick, so seeing it any time isn't a problem! I love the Fire Stick, everyone should hae one! Thanks for another great adventure!
It was a really great funny movie Quentin Tarantino always comes through and George Clooney put the icing on the cake along with the other cast members such a wonderful film thanks for taking us back down memory lane Love your work keep it up
Watched from dusk till dawn for the millionth time last week again,so this one was brilliant,& don't forget, what a brilliant soundtrack, cheers from England.👌👏❤️👍
I remember watching this round a friend's house on DVD. It was already in the DVD player and I didn't see the case. You can imagine my shock when the dancing lady became a vampire! I am so glad I didn't know what the movie was about, it made it all the more better. One of my favourites, thank you so much for the video. Cool to know I could go stay in the motel it was filmed in♥️
I just noticed that the switchblade he flicks is a Rizzuto, the Asian-made, cheap Italian-style ones that so many tourists bought in MX in the 60s but that are now worth a lot.
I remember back in the day watching this thinking I was watching a brilliant suspense, thriller. Then Vampires showed up and it got even better. A timeless classic.
Nothing beats 1990s Salma Hayek! Even in her 50s she still smokes “instagram models” half her age.
Yes i Agree 💯%
Facts!
Yep she even badder then all the models in the world
Totally. I'd be a willing sacrifice for that dance!! ❤😮
This scene and her strip club scene in Dogma are both 🔥
One of my all time favorite movies! Great job with the filming locations. Never knew where they filmed this movie.
Fun fact: Benny's World of Liquor is the same building that Terminator, John and Sarah Connor stop at to get Gas at in Terminator 2
Wonder how many 'takes' Quentin took when he was sucking her toe....wow.
This channel just keeps getting better and better! Love it, thank you for this!
Agreed
Yes I do 😀😀😀😎👍
Fantastic breakdown of all the locations! I worked with Fred Williamson on another production and he had some great stories about shooting the scenes inside the Titty Twister.
I've never realised that Tom Savini takes the beer from Greg Nicotero, the creator of The Walking Dead. Pretty neat!
Right?
Tito Larriva is an amazing singer/ songwriter. Not just Dusk til Dawn but also Desperado and did the opening song from Roadhouse as well.
In the film Cheech Marin actually played three roles, one as a border guard, one of the damned denizens in the bar, and Carlos at the end saying it was just a place that was open he'd been past.
No shit, Sherlock Holmes 😂
I love movies, but never would I think to take a vacation to see where they filmed something. However, the way you recreate shots and portray the passage of time is so unbelievably interesting. There’s film, history, geography, pop culture, technology… thanks for all your hard work and education Grimms
Thanks for filming the locations for this movie! This movie is so underrated. Another great vlog from the Grimms! Happy Halloween 🎃
It was this movie and Desperado that turned me on to Tito & Tarantula. AMAZING band !
Proud to say I saw this film in the cinema on opening night. Did not know what to expect and boy did this surprise me and deliver big time! This is when I also realized George Clooney is not too bad after all. I was a very happy 17 year old that evening leaving the cinema. Good Times!
I love that Tom Savini scares off Greg Nicotero with the "weapon member" 🤣
Oh hell yes. Thank you for doing the locations for this film!
My favorite movie of all time!! Just watched it yesterday and do atleast once a month. Seth Gecko is the man.
Wow! I love this movie so much!! So terribly underrated. Thanks for showing us this, Michael. Happy Halloween 💀🖤🎃
Me too bob Roma 😀😀👍😎
Thank you for going to these filming locations. I really love watching them. Stay safe Grimm Life
Total classic of a film. Bring back so many memories.
My friends and I quote this movie all time. Thank you for doing this one! Too bad there’s nothing left of the sets!
The use of Bishops Countdown in the DTD trailer was a spot of genius on the part of whomever chose that piece of music
From dusk till Dawn is probably one of the most underrated horror movies of all time!
It was HARDLY underrated, it grossed almost 60 million in theaters, spawned a video game, a sequel, a prequel and a tv show. It has a good Rotten Tomatoes score, won Clooney some awards and it even got a great review from Ebert.
Not underrated, just not well known
@@seanwilks7712 what I mean by underrated is when people talk horror movies they never include this movie in the discussion
Not underrated as far as horror fans go either man. It’s just not underrated in any way haha sorry
Howling pisses all over it..
i was just watching your last video then this just popped up i love it thanks for sharing with us. i love that movie
I had the pleasure of watching this movie at age 6 or 7. Thanks to cable TV lol. Loved it ever since. It never gets old. Thank you grimmlife for making these videos. Your channel is the best to do this type of content. This one is badass.
Quentins movies are so imaginative! Where he comes up with this stuff blows my mind! Great video Michael! 🤘👻🦇
I freaking love your filming location content. Thanks for all the efforts to bring this content to us.
You two have hit it out of the park yet again, with one of my favourite movies. Love the location comparisons from the past to present day but somewhat saddened that some of the structures haven't survived. Great vid and of course the narration is spot on! Thanks again, from western Canada 🇨🇦.

Thanks Michael & Jessica GRIMM for this filming location for from dusk till dawn
Here in Brazil, this film is still broadcast on open TV. It's a classic 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
The guy with the knife who threaten Tom Savini It’s Greg Nicotero from KNB. Love your video
My great grandmother worked at "Benny's" for years (it was actually a little convenience store)....you can actually see her house in the opening scene......if you guys haven't been to Club Ed movie set you should check it out ....so many movies and music videos have been filmed there
One of my favorite movies of all time...
The shot at the end where you see the back of the t twister is a Aztec temple was cool!
I live in Victorville... just a few miles away from Emma & Pete's Gravy Train.
This is one of my favorite movies. Thanks for sharing your visit!
The first time I ever got drunk was while watching this movie. My buddy brought over some MGD and tequila, we grilled some steaks and drank during this movie. This movie has a special place in my heart 😂🤣
This channel is my version of junk food at night.
Absolutely love it!

Classic movie. Clooney is THE definition of f'n cool and badass in that film.
Back when he had his Caesar cut 😂
My favorite movie! Have the dvd, blu-ray, screenplay, comic, video game and the movie poster on my wall. Had the pleasure of getting to meet and hang out with Kurtzman a few years ago. Thank you for this video.
this channel is a holy grail for every horror fan.
Salma Hayek in this movie was one of my go toos as a young man. I think that's why my wife has long semi curly black hair! Only she's Italian
One of my favorite vampire movies! Thanks for covering the locations! Your attention to detail is always fun to watch.
This remains, perhaps the only film, that I want to spring on people for the first time with zero context..
I love this movie

Welcome to my neck of the woods. They had open public casting tryouts for the extras in this movie in Barstow. I attended.
I’m working on my Halloween playlist already. Tito & Tarantula are already on it but you inspired me to put a sample of Danny Trejo’s introduction in front of it. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Awesome video! Thank you for showing all these movie spots. Incredible!
Enjoy the journey! I always do with Grimmlife!
Ha!! We just moved to Mojave and pass that motel daily. My wife said “that could totally be in a movie” lol! Love your show!!
There was a time when Calico wasn't paved and didn't have all the "gift shops" selling candles and trinkets. Unfortunately, in my opinion, as with many other historical places, some organization had to commercialize it. Another great video! Loved seeing the old desert locations again. Thank you!!

I'm pretty amazed how you were able to find these locations with basically just some mountains in the back of the shots....great job
Another great grim life adventure and awesome movie pic to do locations on
So glad to see you do the filming locations for this movie. Haven't seen anyone else do it, so thank you!
I remember watching this round a friend's house on DVD. It was already in the DVD player and I didn't see the case. You can imagine my shock when the dancing lady became a vampire! I am so glad I didn't know what the movie was about, it made it all the more better. One of my favourites, thank you so much for the video. Cool to know I could go stay in the motel it was filmed in♥️
Always my go-to when wanting a location specialist. Thanks Michael!
Great job. I noticed how they used the limos to hide the road. Quite a mind blowing shot.
Back when they still made great movies
Coolest Hat!! Beautiful Desert! You Are A Dark Vampire!🦇🦇🖤
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇🦇
Love this channel great video mike and jesica your fan from Canada 🇨🇦
Cheech Marin was hilarious in all the parts he played in the movie.
I lived at ft irwin when I was a kid. I passed calico ghost mining town 100s of times. So weird seeing it now
One of those movies you can watch over and over😨😱
I just noticed that the switchblade he flicks is a Rizzuto, the Asian-made, cheap Italian-style ones that so many tourists bought in MX in the 60s but that are now worth a lot.
One of my favorite movies ☺️ Selma 🦶 awesome hat btw
