    Crazy how much a little color match and some bigger tires can improve the look of this truck

      I agree, stock this trucks bother me. However with a lift and some tires it’s just puts all the lines and grill into proportion.

      I have a 2019 Tundra and love Toyota but i will not buy the 2022+ unless they address the front grill. It is such a disgusting look and i shouldn't have to paint a $50-60k truck right from the dealer just to make it tolerable.
      I don't know what Toyota was thinking, they spent millions on R&D and the best design they could come up with is this front end? They person who green-lit this grill design should be fired immediately.

    Best way to fix that Tundra, the wheel/tire size looks perfect, and that front is so much better than stock, you took a mess of a factory front end and made it look great! I think people who don't like the front end of their tundra could actually think about buying one now because you made it look correct! Great work!

    I’m surprised you didn’t mention the bracket attached to the frame behind the tire that was added to pass the new crash safety standard. That bracket surely had to be removed to get the 37s installed.

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  2 роки тому +2

      We did not have to remove or modify the front corner crash tire deflector. It clears it with no problem. If the tires would not because of it we would have run a smaller tire. We do not mess with stuff when it comes to safety. This is the main reason we don’t install bracket lifts. Because you have to cut the frame and this changes the integrity of the frame and also makes it react different when in a accident. But thank you for asking.

Check our Revere Overland on UA-cam he has our kit and he lives out in his Tundra traveling the country with our kit. That is not interfering with the tire with the 35’s or 37’s. It is there as a safety feature so if the vehicle is struck up in the front corner and the tire is pushed into the cabin area it is a deflector to push the tire away from the cabin area.

      The 35’s do not effect t very much but the 37’s you can tell that there is a power loss.

    Awesome build brother. Looking to run 20x9 +12 offset with 35/12.50. I ordered my 1974 without the trd package. Does not having the trd package make a difference?

    Just got these exact rims and tires installed but the shop told me the center caps inner diameter is too small and can’t fit right with the wheel on.

    Are you able to reprogram the speedometer so it’s accurate with the larger tires?

      It’s reads slow by 3.5 mph at 65 mph. I not sure if they have recalibration for them yet

      Our kit can be used as a front leveling kit or you can use it as 3”/1” rear. Here is the link: westcottdesigns.net/product/2022-toyota-tundra-preload-collar-lift-kit-new/

    I understand you installed the 37x12.5R 18LT Tires, but did you go with the E 128Q or the D 124Q. I think this makes a difference on the overall tire width.

      I’m sorry I don’t remember but we have done both since this build and works fine ether way. There is enough room for ether tire as long as the offset is correct.

    Would the trd pro be easier to put on those exact same size tires? I also heard that Toyota offers a 3 inch lift kit from the factory as an option.

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  2 роки тому +1

      It won’t be any easier. It will require the same amount of work and the lift kit works the same way. As for the factory lift. It will be installed at the hub before they go on the rail or it’s going to be a dealer installed accessory. The cost of the kit is $2995.00 plus install.
