Thank you evoindia for this podcast. Really very informative. Im happy that a podcast has been done on my favourite company. I own a Xylo and XUV3xo. Hope Mahindra emerges even greater than now.
Mahindra has anazing passion in leadership. That has led them so far & it will surely become one of the top 5 SUV makers in the world in next 2 decades as per their vision statement. Mark my words.
My mother was a doctor in a remote village and the oldest connection I have with it was the jeep given to the hospital and we used to travel in that vehicle. It was considered as a macho man's vehicle
My father was a civil engineer in the irrigation department and they used to get jeeps for the site work and learned driving in that jeep way back in 1994 in the age of 9 or 10. That used to be an overwhelming experience 😍
This is such a great podcast for us young Indians, who need to know the history of the company we love today. Hope this podcasts reaches to more people!!👏👏
A concoction of decades of experience and enthusiasm delivered in the best form UA-cam has experienced. Coffee with veterans if I may. Thanks Sirish and Adil.
This was a fantastic podcast Sirish! It was an absolute joy to listen to Adil and it was like going back in the time. In the next one, please do include some bits on the Marazzo.
In second part please talk about the next gen bolero and new u171 platform. For me mahindra is an example of you can do anything if you want always doing more with less is mahindra for me who would have thought that from assembling licensed jeeps mahindra will become world's largest selling tractor brand india's second largest selling commercial vehicle brand and we obviously know about their suv journey. Great podcast loved it waiting for the second part.
Sir the entire Nation is very much fortunate for having such a dignified and designated Minister like Nitin Gadkari but still have to serve him as well no matter if there is EV or Hydrogen or any other rehabilitation or introduction and adoptation of new technology 🌹❤️
Sir couple of times I have hopped inside double decker in Bangalore and got the opportunity to hop in from Shivaji Terminus till Inguess just before the crossing just beside Haji Ali in Mumbai still remember the roads were still a way a way par very disciplined 🌹❤️
Sirish, Superb podcast and loved the way Adil Ji sharing stories. It was perfect story telling from him. Thank you for bringing such quality content for us.
Sirish Sir you actually won the heart when you showcased Skoda Laura in the year 2007 or 8 roughly roughly I don’t remember and now in UA-cam in your shows EVO India Nios turbo how to drag and how to manuever in go kart
Mitsubishi, Toyota both had licenses to produce the same model as Mahindra. But from the second generation toyota became FJ. and beautifully evolved further. Mitsubishi evolved into Pajero and became king of India. Even the Korando was changed after one generation. Mahindra is that OEM who kept the steering off centered till the rebirth of Thar. They kept the non ergonomic designs churning. Just like G wagon became the trax and cruiser, then also the toofan didn't stop there. Gladly, nobody cared about the comfort of the passengers. I still think Roxx could've been a bit longer. Nice Podcast by the way. Sirish, plz keep recording these videos with all the seniors of the Indian Automobile Industry. Old motorsports days. You may release them later. But keep the recordings of them. It's like a photo album for us. Thank You !
Why don't you talk about Mahindra Marshal, Marshal maxx. I guess they predated Armada and it's DNA body styling still lives in bolero. I have lots of memories with marshal when I was child back in 2000s 🥺🥺
Absolutely, in Evo India's earlier video they didn't covered Marshal and Maxx which was very popular back in the days when bolero was not launched and even after launch of bolero Maxx was popular in rural areas , even today I see lots of Maxx in Himachal and Uttrakhand still running and it's still in demand. I have 2003 marshal DX royale working well.
This man is a walking talking encyclopaedia of our chequered automotive history. You guys should make as many of these videos as you can. Even bring in Hormadz from Autocar. Good way to understand the Congressi WB/KL commie way of keeping India down for decades.
Sir if you ask me personally I still drive with the culture and toil and hardships behind the making of Ambassador,Padmini and Contessa the blood and tears and the involvement with smile and refreshments of feeling was way way ahead than rest of the cars that are manufacture today 🌹❤️

In 1984 when I was in 9th Std I learnt driving 4 wheeler - It was Mahindra Jeep. In fact I learnt riding 2 wheeler after that. It was Green with Off White Hard Top - 3 gears - Max Speed was less than 80 km per hour
One thing I request you to do in future episodes ……is pls put up pictures / videos of models you are talking about for our reference………it would make this podcast more interesting ……although it’s interesting…..that would help

Why did Mahindra opt for a French Peugeot diesel engine - the XDP 4.90, no doubt the engine was used in a very popular vehicle the Peugeot 504 - was this the reason or was it because the French Franc was comparatively better in foreign exchange terms, any insight will be appreciated. I also had a question on the Kia transmission which you addressed during the podcast.
It was all to do with the most reliable contemporary diesel available then and that was shortlisted. Plus also the fact that Peugeot's terms were appealing for the times. The Kia manual transmission was a clear commercial buy.

Those were the times when nothing of the vehicle was taken out that was going to be auctioned. I started to drive in that same vehicle which we still have, and one more thing I want to tell that my father told me that you will only get a driving license if you can reverse the jeep with the trailer on the badi naher

Wow you seem to attribute too much to me but yes I do make it a habit to soak up on history.

Very good and insightful video. Just small correction Mahindra launched the Armada in 1994. In 1998 Armada Grand was launched.
Armada was launched in 1992. Sumo was launched in 1994.
No it was indeed 1992 and not 1994. I remember it vividly for my son was born that year and we brought him home in the Armada from the hospital.
Armada 1992
Armada98 1998
Armada Grand 1998
Above 80 it used to float on the Road..My friend bought one and asked me to take a test Drive. 🙃 That was the Last 😅😅
Should have asked about e2o making a comeback?
