El viento ha soplado su brisa
A partir de la división del valle
Oh viento, llevame a mi tierra ...
    mientras no conozca mi tierra...
oh viento llévame, llévame a mi tierra
    Llévame a mi tierra

Of course. This is a famous song of Fairouz, a very famous lebanese singer. She was very popular the 60, 70 and 80. People like and listen to her songs until now.

Oumaima El Baqqaly Yes i can compare anything I want to compare it s my choice and no one is going to force me to like Fairouz voice...i do not like it and I am free to choose whom voice to like and I find Imane voice much much better than Fairouz if this is an insult to you then take it as is

I see your point, but I think that is because their is much greater continuity in the Al-Andalus/ Arab/ North African tradition than there is in the Christian and Sephardic ones. After the Moors and Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, there was a 'cultural cleansing' as well, and music practices changed a lot. To be 'innovative' in the Arab material would be somewhat 'untraditional' and/or inauthentic. Besides, no one ever played nyckelharpa for these songs before! Multicultural=innovative

Well the song is from the Rahbani brothers so: you tell me what the 4000 years?. I love Fairouz, but if you want to hear the song with a more archaic, more close to those 4000 years, the better you stay with the version of Project Alandaluz I think as good as Fairouz

It is your opinion but I have to disagree, first because I think interpretation haughtiness not only technically, but also in the spiritual, and second because the group it aims to make music fusion between East and West with the musical repertoire all medieval cultures of Medieval Spain. Comment also not think you can put more feeling and delicacy in this song that puts Iman al Kandousi

I also have to disagree and have to stress the following argument, When it comes to eastern music, you have to use proper approach. It is way different than western approach. You can not experiment with it, because it has strict rules. You can not simplify it, minimise it, or make it up as you wish. This very example is a straight western interpretation over a very delicate eastern music and that is why it fails to satisfy the need of feel. So, band's aim is irrelevant and null.

  • @protdeaf
    @protdeaf 12 років тому

Sorry, but this version lacks soul. The band performs it like it is just a business. Well, it shouldn't be. I don't hear proper ornaments which are the key factor of this kind of eastern music. Using eastern instruments doesn't make your performance better when it comes to eastern musical approach. Whole performance is just too methodical, and technical as if the band is playing some European song. Just my two cents.
