Really great! I really enjoyed the playing. And that microphone sounds fantastic outdoors. I've been trying to find something good, and you've convinced me to give that one a try
Thanks, BanjoSkills! I enjoy tuning into your lessons, so it's neat to see you here! I love my Zoom H2n Handy Recorder! It's so portable and you can't beat the price! I got mine used with accessories for $110 on Ebay, but the mic is less than $200 brand new! I've seen a couple other banjo creators using them for outdoor vids, which is what put me onto it in the first place. :)
@@StanleyWaltsBanjo Nice! I discovered your channel on your Liza Jane video - really cool arrangement. Going to pick up that mic this week and try to record before it's arctic weather here in the UK 🤣 Thanks for the info!
Like anything banjo-related, I feel like its not too bad after getting over that initial learning curve. It definitely took me a lot of practicing before I understood how those fill notes worked. It mostly boiled down to hours of drilling and working through a bunch of free 2FTL tabs on Banjo Hangout. I think it also helped that I'm trying to learn Scruggs style at the same time, because there's surprisingly a bit of overlap between them.
Yes, I started with Scruggs style but moved to clawhammer which seemed much easier to sing with. I am going to start working on 2 finger again tonight after being inspired by your video. I tuned down a step from open G on Lonesome Valley and sounded more to my liking. Those fill-ins just don't come as natural as a clawhammer stroke. Thanks for your reply! @@StanleyWaltsBanjo

Sounds good to me, Stanley.
Thank you, Mary!

That's pretty good for 2 months. I have tried but is just doesn't come as natural as clawhammer for me.
