- In this video I look at starting to remove the steering box and cover the problem of someone turning the steering wheel too far without the tie rods hooked up.
Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.
As always a pleasure to watch.
Had the same problem with my steering wheel it made my hands black. Someone asked me if i ever had washed it, i said no.
Took the steering wheel of. After half a hour of cleaning the water stopped getting black. Imagine 60 years of sweat dust and grease. No one ever bothered cleaning it. Are now happy with my old patina steering wheel.
I never thought of that, I just presumed it was buggered.
Thanks for the video Mr Lance. I run my own mobile repair service in North Carolina and I still learn a new way to do something everyday
Glad to help
Man I really need to know if it's ok because my kid got up on my Ferguson y I had the torsion bars off the steering arms an my kids spun the steering wheel really fast an I heard it wine really bad an now my steering arms ones way up here and the other isn't even moving any idea......ok your a genuineness didn't even need to answer me you went right to my problem thank you sir for you videos
Happy to help.
Thanks lance, this is the one I've been waiting for 👍👍👍👍
Hope you like it! This is just the start off one covering a few questions I get, next one gets into the nitty gritty of it all.
2 years for me lol
@@BundyBearsShed its great learning alot from you videos, its been a great help starting to restore our 1948 TEA20, my grandad used to restore tractors and only stopped recently because his knees have give up at the age of 96, so I've taken his place and really enjoying it
Very good Lance you explained that well, your sound and filming is spot on now hardly any background noise. John
Many thanks!
Lance great video, looking forward to part 2.
Coming soon!
@@BundyBearsShed no rush come ooooooooonnnnnnnn
Thank you for another great informative video and Happy New Years
Happy new year!
Just what I wanted to see, I've added this to my collection of you're great videos. Lance you may not realise the camera is out of focus between 9:00 - 18:08 otherwise it is O.K.
Glad you enjoyed it! This is just a look at a few little jobs getting to the big job.
Very good, something else I didnt know. Of course my father's te 20 is long gone but still interesting. My own hydraulic issue with the 230, also once my father's, was the dash pot was stuck. 5 second fix after removing lift cover, so I changed the oil and other things,..... works like new again.
ok interesting.
Are you BLESSED by the Gods? the Steering wheel coming off so easy? You're not wrong Lance, 'once in a Blue Moon!' - that happens. A few years back when removing mine from my MF 35 it NEARLY KILLED ME 🤣. Happy New Year mate.
Happy New Year John.
Good to see you have your stool caps on Lance👍
Thanks 👍 Im hit and miss with those, lol .
I already did my steering box. It didn't have any water or oil in it because someone before me took a screwdriver and stuck it through the fill hole then punched a hole in the bottom. Everything ran out down by the clutch and out the bottom. The steering shaft pinion was ground to death. I got a nice used one and some new seals. All good now.
Wow there is some rough buggers out there.
Extremely bloody enjoyable.
Thankyou.
Yes!!! The one I've been waiting for
No excuse now, lol.
Hi Lance, Great video as always. On the subject of water in the steering box, I dont suppose it would be possible to make an "awareness" video on the Magnesium alloy gearbox and galvanic corrosion. Such as the reason why they put a gasket between the bell housing and engine and the Yellow paste on the bolts, which is Duralac (Barium Chromate) to prevent galvanic corrosion. Again just if you think its important or not, or otherwise busy haha
In part two I do chat about that. Great minds think alike, lol.
Hello. I have a Ferguson TO35 tractor that steers perfect in warm weather.BUT when temperature goes below freezing, cannot move steering wheel at all. After watching your video l can assume there must be water in where the gears are. So I’m wondering if I drill near the base of the steering box to let the water drain, then tap and install a plug. Will that work? It would save a lot of time form dismantling.
It might be worth a try but Im not really sure.
Nice one. On the adjusting screws does that also set tension? On mine the steering Is really heavy and just hoping it’s been over adjusted? Thanks
They adjust gear backlash the bearings can be crook to cause it to be tight or the column adjustment too tight.
@@BundyBearsShed makes sense ! Will have a look, thanks
Did you make the steering wheel puller yourself or is there a place I can purchase one?
Love the videos. Keep it up.
It is just from a bearing seperator kit.
Thanks Luke
Thanks Colin
Is this compatible with the TO30 or the TO20? (Haven't watched vid yet so sorry if he answers question in vid)
Im not sure but I think it would be.
@@BundyBearsShed I ended up following along with the video for my TO-30 and its exactly the same
My dad is going to get a new steering wheel for our TEA20
Worth doing for sure.
@@BundyBearsShed cool
Focus Lance Focus, I thought my cataracts were getting real bad there.
Yeah auto focus not the best but hard to see on the little screen, looked good until editing.
Sucksion pump, what's wrong with a sython?
Nothing if it has not got lumps in it.
@@BundyBearsShed I might get my one done in the next few months, but the chances of getting it done so that I can get some hay made is looking increasingly bleak.
