Yea, I just made it through the 1st period and he attacked the whole time. Wondering what some of you were watching. Not to mention..you gotta pick your shots wisely. This isn't some small town guy on HS level
@@Retics Even then I always picked my shots. My counter ankle picks were savage. Could get 6 takedowns a match off that counter alone. I did against one rival of mine. He was so pissed when I techd him off ankle picks but he enjoyed pinning me with 12 seconds left in the next match. I was winning that too. Just lost my footing off a scramble and he got the takedown and cradle.
I was REALLY wanting to see Sea Bass and Lee in the Finals this year. I didn't know he'd injured himself. I knew he wasn't at the Big 10's, but didn't know why.
Lee is very clever as to how he can twist away from potentially dangerous situations. To beat Lee, Woods had to be more aggressive and take some chances.
Lee [in my opinion] would have been a 3 timer; he would have won in 2020. Would have been the same deal with Pletcher as Eiermen...he lost at B1Gs but mentioned he knew what he did wrong. He'd have gotten it done there.
Yea real is a good wrestler but his career doomed going to Iowa brands will have him hurt banged up like all their wrestler are every year why didn't he go to Penn st with Lee leaving real got to be more offensive thinking he basically didn't do anything in lee match
I think your comment MIGHT be very accurate. > GO to Iowa & end up wrestling HURT & BANGED up. I'm guessing that the Brands make every practice into a concentration camp near death experience from over work & exhaustion. Look at the results of many of their best wrestlers > Eireman injured , didn't make finals, Marinelli used to look like such a built stud, both he & DeSanto looked literally physically emaciated. DeSanto achieved 3rd based on his phenomenal wrestling skill but what happened to his muscles. Same with Marinelli > they looked physically wasted. They call him the 'Bull' but in his loss he literally got pushed around by a much stronger opponent. In his last match the look on his face AND body language was he just wanted the whole thing to be - OVER. He looked physically & mentally drained, not the the fierce warrior he is. I think they are totally drained and OVERWORKED in Iowa room practices where EVERY day is go Go GO 110% The guys never recover and lose strength & lean muscle mass. I'm not saying being 'bulit' or having great physical strength is the key to wrestling, it is not. I am saying that overwork without recovery is the recipe for mental & physical exhaustion & injury and turns strength into weakness
Totally agree brands coaches are more worried about winning duals and bug ten coaches from Penn state gets their guys ready for national tournament and it shows nobody prepare thier guys better then coach cael
hard fought one point match similar to the desanto/young bouts. in both cases the lion was just a tad bit better. next year woods wrestles for iowa and could be favored at 141 with lee gone.
Real is such a good wrestler but he spends his energy. By the end of the match he is spent. By the end of this he was toast. He can be the best if he quits being like Mohammad Ali.
@@mikemurray5563 It’s a strategy that works. You get your offense going early, get your points off takedowns early, then in the second choose down to get your escape point. Then work your stuff in the second going to the third, then ride them out in the third. Looking at a cool 3 takedown game with riding time point advantage and escape point. If someone is up in the finals by the third and they’re up 6-4, but have riding time, they’re going to stay on top and make it seem like they’re working for a tilt. At any point in this match Nick could’ve turned Woods but he was strategic.
@@zaynes5094 tbf DC mentioned in one of the finals matches that they weren't calling stalling on top that much during this tourney. I wouldn't go so far as to say they were consistent with their stall calls because there were some horrendous ones, but at least in the top position they seemed to be consistently not calling parallel riding as stalling like they have in recent years.
0:05 he spammed the crouch button
Real "dont shoot until youre down with 15 seconds left" Woods
Really wish Penn state fans had the same integrity that Penn State’s coach has
Also watch the first period dude attacked start to finish lmfao
Them penn state boys don’t play

Nick Lee is on another level. RW was tenitive, and almost totally defensive the whole match. Congrat's to Nick Lee.
RW in Blue and White next season?
@@kawikajones9436 If you want to get better you have to wrestle with the best.

This match is an example of "there's level to this."
Lee is on a completely different level just like the PSU program led by an incredible human being Cael Sanderson.
WE ARE PENN STATE!!!
Thought Lee was gonna get a locked hands call at 7:19
Really wanted real to win. Tough
Next year…
Woods is for real. Lee was just to strong and a fifth year senior. It will be interesting to see how he reacts.
He will next year when he’s at PSU!!!

Lee also beat him pretty good in their duel that yr
2021 wouldnt have been a free year if 2020 wasnt canceled..

Red should of chose down instead of deferring. It would of been tied.
Not likely.
I REALly wish REAL would have won. But we can't change REALITY. After all, we live in the REAL world

Real Woods is no match for Nick Lee
nick lee would maul woods now
Funny thing is these two might be teammates next year
