apparently clarke is in law school, and nick lee’s father is the head of a law firm. after the match lee’s father offered him a job. respect 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Wow
That’s crazy insane. Woa
Yeah that didn't happen
source ?
@@chasepackard3311 watch the replay of the broadcast, one of the commentators mentioned it
Best part of this entire match happened afterwards and off camera.
Nick’s father, who is a lawyer, offered Kizhan a job since he is in law school at UNC.
Thought he was military?
@@natestakely1478 Kizhan? Maybe he was prior to going to law school.
@@JJ-land Lee's pop
@@natestakely1478 His dad served in the military and is a lawyer. They are from my hometown.
Did he take the job ?
shout out to Clarke for taking those crossfaces like a man
For real.
Thought he could come in hot and stick the champ, lee def made him pay for that with some of those🤣
@@Elm98 💀😂😂lmao right that was an entertaining match man
Bro I’m saying. Like damn those cross faces were real close to looking like a cross face cradle 🥴
Yeah he’s a trooper and it shows. Mental toughness goes a long way🎉
Lee's attitude determined his altitude. He truly understood that working himself to the bone is the only way to go-not cockiness, just readiness. I doubt he would ever claim it was about talent, like Gable, he understood you get out of it, what you put in. I remember him after winning a major championship saying something like "in two days, it is back to chopping wood and carrying water"--what a great attitude. No lucky breaks here--100 percent working the entire match.
Nick Lee is just an incredible athlete
That opening flurry was nuts. If Clarke and Lee could've sustained that pace, it would've been the greatest NCAA Finals match in history regardless of who won or lost
After the first minute. I was ready for an upset. Great season Clarke! I was excited to see you beat Iowa!
Nick is solid. So great to see him build up from two years ago. Nick is another Penn State wrestler that became unstoppable! Also high five to Nick's dad! Does he have any other job offerings?
Another college wrestling legend, thank you Nick Lee, for demonstrating hard work.
Semper Fidelis
Nobody gonna talk about the giant of a lady that was helping during blood time
in her defense everyone in UNC's corner including Clarke is probably 5'6" or shorter
No joke! She was the tallest person on the mat on either side.
Crazy to watch UFC and hear DC's voice all day and then over to NCAA wrestling and hear his voice some more. He's passionate about both and hopefully he brings some attention to wrestling.
I got hooked on Nick Lee his sophomore year and have just been memorized.
Cormier is a great commentator.
Looked like an interesting match in the first min, then it was all Lee after that, tough to watch for Clarke, it was pure punishment with crossfaces for most of the match.
Daniel Cormier is the GOAT at commentary
Way to go Nick Lee! One of the best to ever do it. I've enjoyed watching the amazing rise of this group of Nittany Lions.
All 141s are happy to see Lee graduate lol.
I got to meet Kizhan today at a wrestling camp and I even got to shoot on him today it was a really cool day
Once Lee got on top it was wraps
I love nicks series on top. Consistent, relentless, fortified
I feel terrible+ I can't believe I missed this yesterday!!!
21-3 and the 15 seed ?
thats what i was thinking, maybe because he placed low in conference. idk
2nd seed was injured and Clarke took advantage. 3rd seed was also injured in the Big10's and took a default to 6th at the Big10's. Here the 3rd seed Rivera was upset in the quarters by the 6th seed (ACC Champion) who the 15th seed beat.
Nick Lee is a technical master and an old-school badass.
he went 0-2 in the ACC and got at larger bid to compete at NCAAs, but yeah he would've been a top 10 seed at least if not for that
Great match. I know Cael is screaming on the side, you finally had a time to get bonus points and you let it go. Great Natty Title though 🤣💯🚀
Looks like I’ll be teaching the ankle ride
I swear all these Penn state wrestlers r js crazy good for no reason
Indiana native and very familiar with the outstanding wrestling program at Mater Dei, but I have to admit I was pretty skeptical of Nick when he was a freshman at PSU. I will admit that crow isn't bad after all. He developed very nicely. A testament to Cael's ability to turn good wrestlers with natural talent into national champions. Congrats Nick
Why Nick Lee’s parents look so uninterested @5:02 bruh.
Monster athlete...
If you are that caliber, And you want to win a national championship, go to penn state. Work under cale.
At this point it's logic.
Great catch by Cormier regarding Lee’s ankle ride.
Why stop the match with 32 seconds left?
Yeah they are number one and 15 for a reason. Solid match
Nick lee is awesome
Cormier is a awesome announcer
He's a good coach too I seen the videos and wish he was closer to me for my kids.
I live near Penn State
Yo Clarke is all gas no brakes . I love this kid
Clarke used the trap hook dump the entire tournament and almost took the NCAAs- goes to show how implementing a secret, seldom used technique in battle can turn the tide for anyone
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades
@@youarerightboss I suspect that Cazimir was admiring 15-seeded Clarke's ability to use a technique to help make it into the finals. But I'll bet that you know that.
Has anyone else noticed that most of these wrestlers don't answer the majority of the questions being asked at the end? lol. They'll ask them one thing and they'll give an unrelated or unresponsive answer.
Yeah lol I’ve noticed it too. I feel like it’s understandable though- a lot of emotions to process and they’re caught up in the moment
@@brendan638 True. I know they’re in top shape, but they’re trying to catch their breath which probably makes it worse.
Fighting another man with everything you have for more a few minutes will leave you basically brain dead for half an hour.
@@jguitar151 I can tell.
Reporter: “how did it feel to beat the number one wrestler in the country?”
Wrestler: “Well, I’ve been wrestling since I was 5. I always looked up to NCAA national champions and I have the best coach in the world”
🤣
Is nick coming back for another year ?
Lee is a total bad ass.
Lee set the pace
Sheesh that trainer for NC is TALL
Carry water, chop wood.
Hammer.
It’s crazy how this is my weight class, these boys look nothing near me
Is Daniel Comier a commentator?
Is that Daniel comier?
can someone explain the path to getting out of that control on the ground?
Knee up opposite side of ride by dropping to ride side hip, be careful of the cradle with correct posture, clear out one side by bow fighting in, step up, hip out and turn. It’s not rocket science
Get your legs out block with your arm. Think the move is called cake walk, basically turn into them
In this kids case there is no path other then the one that leads to 2nd place podium...Lee was just to strong and there was nothing that kid could of done once Lee flattened him out and laced the ankle. He was waiting for Clark to base up so he could ball him up with that cross face cradle!... If J.Eirman was healthy I don't think Clark would of been in this match!. Great wrestling by him just no match for N.Lee!
stud
This is a case of Tomasello and Kuhn all over again. Kuhn gets an early lead and gives the crowd a false sense of hope, and then Tomasello proceeds to major him
👍👍💪💪
Nick Lee has the nastiest legal cross faces I’ve ever seen. Clarke’s nose was so red after.
Cool
Pick up your feet during his re-shot....Pletchy fig that one out.
lowkey think that first round stall call on clarke was bs but oh wel
how do you think khabib would do against the champ?
Clarke gased out. He went hard the first 30 to 45 seconds, if that, and then he was spent. Even Cormier said that he went hard. That's the problem with people like him. They depend too much on strength. They go hard at first trying for that big move to end the match fast but when they wrestle someone like Lee who knows how to wrestle it becomes a different match then. Lee is on another level anyways.
He wanted a big scramble to get the upset. He almost got him on his back Lee is just insane
Why are you hating on him for doing what he had to do to get the upset. It’s the only way he could win!
@@professorxaviour3649 I never said anything that pertained to hating on him. What exactly did I say? All I said was he used muscle instead of technique to try to win. And guys like him don't last very long when they spend all their energy trying to do big moves that 99.9% of the time do not work on class athletes like Lee. Stating facts is not hating on someone. The dude got where he did on strength and some technique but that only gets you so far. All props to him for getting to the big match.
Cael university. Lol
To me this was the best match of the night. KC's talent really showed, or should I say lack of,lol. KC had a great tourney and beat some really good men. However, NL was just too much. KC came out brimming with confidence, looking like he would make a match out this. Scored quick, and then it went downhill fast. NL was to many levels above KC. And as the match progressed KC kept getting more and more frustrated every time Lee scored, showed me KC was lucky to make it to the finals. NL broke him, min by min. Till it was clear his ride was over. And Lee's Dad offers KC a job! This is a class family. Congrats to NL. Amazing season.
I wouldn’t say he was lucky he deserved it he only had one regular season loss he went 0-2 in his conferense tournament
He just had a really poor conference tournament and was way better than his seed
@@sethzimmerman4538 Beating , JAYDIN EIERMAN, luck. He wrestles JE 10 times he would loose probably 9. JE was a little off. And going the rest of the way, very lucky. Does he have skills, yes. Is he a great wrestler? Never heard of him till the NCAA's. Since no one knew this guy is why he got so far. 3 losses during the year should tell you something. And if would have been in the big10, he would have had more losses at least double. My point is he looked better than he was.
@@hdvictoryford5329 that’s fair and it is obvious that if eierman was heathy he would have lost and if he out-placed everyone from the big ten besides nick lee in the tournament, so how could you say he would lose to them. Not that he wouldn’t but he beat some of them and beat people that beat them in the tournament.
@@sethzimmerman4538 Your missing my point. He came into the tourney under the radar so to speak. The announcers said basically the same thing. Guaranteed they know him now. So in a weird way he had an advantage. Even tough wrestlers have tendencies that can be exploited. If you are not aware, your opponent has a adv. I did wrestle and this is fact. Hope this helps. KC had an outstanding tourney nothing more. He got to the finals, and for a 15 seed there is no other word, very lucky.
Carter STARocci over Lewis was better
That cheap near side leg scoop is stupid, it’s a cheap way to stall and pick up riding time while doing nothing. I would love to see folk style dropped and free style adopted in college.
The crossface basically looks like a legalized punch in the face or nose with the sharp bones of the forearm when the sport is called wrestling. Why would the sport allow this? Throwing punches at the sensitive eye and nose area that cause cuts and bleeding is dangerous. Other dangerous moves are prohibited. It degrades the sport.
