LOVE that you kept them together, and what a GIFT is was for them to build them a catio! They were outdoor cats and you gave them what they needed and wanted in addition to a loving warm inside home.

I like how you can see the weight they've put on and how healthy they look since being brought home. Also, to actually move to a house closer to that restaurant just to keep seeing them and trying to get them to come around is real dedication.
Really, their luckiest break is that this lady is one of the few people who can stomach Papa John's. :P

It's so impressive that she bought a house in the neighborhood to be near Rita. it's amazing nothing happened to the cats living on the streets when she was still feeding them a year later. I didn't see the whole video but I wondered why she didn't trap them sooner, or try to scoop them-up to bring into her car. True and devoted love that she built a catio. She's lucky she has a backyard. What a loving and great lady.
They tried for many months unsuccessfully. Maybe they just didn't know how to properly trap them and the kitties were too smart!!!

I got my kitten now cat that was left behind an old laundry mat. With her litter box litter box food water bowls etc. Not a life for a kitten / cat. So I took her in. took awhile for her to warm up to me. She's still hisses even though it's been several months. It's sad that animals are abondon or stray. I'm happy there's good people out there to help these animals.
I absolutely love it!! She literally created her life around her babies, even buying a house in the neighborhood close to them!! Truly Amazing!!
The absolutely still as a statue death stare from Rita @ 1:58 is EVERYTHING. 🤣😸 She was plotting a drawn out, painful death for you in that moment.
So happy for everyone. I best way to tame a feral is to leave out fresh water but not food. Feed twice per day. Small amount so they associate you with food and not food with their environment.
Very useful. I always leave food then leave the area....I will try your approach.
They are so cute. And the people who helped catch them deserve pat on the back.
P.s Took a while but my stay mom kitty warmed up after a while, as well. She's still a lioness tho 🦁

It never ceases to amaze me how unique and amazing every cat is. No matter how many there are, and how easily they have babies.
Wow what you did for these cats is above and beyond! One of the best ways to trap a cat, especially multiple cats at once, is the drop trap. So so happy they have a warm home and a place to be outside.. 😻😻
Amy is a saint! We need more people as compassionate as she is. Rita and Roni are lucky to have her!
I love these stories on the dodo, you know they are genuine, when there are so many of these vile people that 'stage' rescues for views, I know I can watch these and know they are good people caring for animals.
What didn't catch my attention was a lack of genuineness, but rather the fact they could afford to buy another house just to rescue a kitten.
@@davezad good point! You would have to be in a very comfortable lifestyle to be able to move house for a cat!
@@davezad yeh... that stood out to me too. I mean it's really nice to rescue cats and all, but buying a house isn't cheap.
@@davezad I just assumed she was planning to move already but decided to stay in the neighborhood for the cat. I mean, could be wrong but I doubt she moved solely for Rita however cute she may be 😂
@ Solo MCFC I agree with you. It's stressful, to me, wondering if some other rescues are mostly for the views they get. Such as Pets Are Angels UA-cam videos?? Such a good feeling watching Dodo videos

Within a day of getting them home I would have given them the option of going out to the garden when they wanted to, via an open cat flap. It is important for cats to feel free.
she most likely didn't want to risk them running away or getting hurt by being outside unsupervised, honestly i think it was smart to give them a way to go outside but with protection

They must speak a COMPLETELY different language in Texas. Where I live, going out to get a pizza with pepperoni has nothing to do with cats! And Rita's is a popular Italian ice stand.

I'm a lifelong cat rescuer, (as well as other animals) and do a Lot of TNR, & the drop trap is my best asset, I've always been able to get even the hardest to trap cats. You just have to have a little patience, as sometimes with real long time street cats, you might have to let them slowly graduate to feeding closer & closer to the drop trap, until they're eventually feeding exclusively under the drop trap several day's before you can attempt to trap them. When you're a trapper/rescuer, patience & fortitude is the key to success getting even the hard to trap one's trapped!
Same! I live in Texas and feeding a feral cat and her 2 kittens and knew the freeze was coming and we trap them to save them because they never been in such cold weather. And now they live happily in our house ❤ Mama Vina, Miss Cleo and Atreus ❤

My favorite thing about people is when they get all excited about rescuing tiny, scared goblins and teaching them how to be happy chill house cats. People who look at any random street animal and go "yes, you are good, I love you" are the best people.
our new mommy built us this awesome new home and we can live here play as we want then go to cosy beds and don,t have to look for food. OUR MOMMAIS THE BEST!
