Kaitlyn Good job😀 , Yeahhh Cool . All the very best for the Future Playing and ma'am. You have a fantastic way of teaching . God bless you . Thank you both for all these . 🤗😊
nice! the only problem i have is on playing not hard is that sometimes when i don't press hard enough there is no note to hear. so mostly i tend to press a bit harder than normal to make sure there will be a note to be heard.
I learned it the other way around. The key in front of the notes shows the "G" key, so the notes on the 5 lines are for the right hand. The capital letters above then like the G, D, Em etc indicate the chord for my left hand. Why do you teach it in the opposite way?
It was so refreshing to see somone play like me ( a learner ) Kaitlyn made me feel comfortable with myself - it was lovely to share Kaitlyn's progress and you both made it such fun to watch as well as providing a valuable lesson - thank you both 🤗🤗🤗😎
well i must be really bad at this because she moves too fast for me i can not keep up, but that is just me please keep reaching for the great future that i am sure motivated people like you will bring to our all-some ....................
@@beefair9492 don't worry! I couldn't play like that at six weeks, but I have been playing for about a year now and stuff like that seems a breeze! Just keep practicing and don't give up! You can do this!
It was so enjoyable to watch and I got really nostalgic watching Kaitlyn play as it was exactly how I did when I first started. The difficulties jumping from one chord to another, having six fingers desperately trying to find their right place, and then forgetting what the next note is. We have ALL been there and we know that with practice and more practice, it gets easier and easier. In time you do not even have to look at your fingers as they seem to find their place on their own. I hope Kaitlyn continued to play!
"Breathe, Dude!" Haha That was awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your process with us Kaitlyn; it is so helpful to watch you struggle and overcome!
Phew, I'm learning this one too, and watching another beginner play and making the same mistakes really really makes me feel better about my practise. Good luck Kaitlyn!
Good Job Kaitlyn! You Got This! It’s soooo worth it to struggle thru the beginning piano lessons! You’ll NEVER regret it! You have an amazing teacher! I’m in my 50s but still remember piano lessons...I’ve never regretted it! Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas!
I loved this real lesson! Good job, Kaitlyn; you're so brave! I wish you all the best in your musical journey. You have an excellent teacher there. I wish I could have had her when I started learning.
I started practicing this for this week to play in front of family members. The last time they started laughing because I was so nervous and made mistakes, a beginner. Let you know what happens. Thank you You are a great teacher.
Greetings from Poland! Thank You! I'm an adult behinner but having so much pleasure learning how to play the piano! It's good to see someone having similar difficulties. ❤️
When i look at kaitlyn, i see what myself looked like right now. But its okay for me since i just started 2 months ago. And i learn piano from this channel only since its easy for me to understand. I really appreciate this channel.
I can so so so relate to Kaitlyn, feeling lost with so many keys to choose from and then feeling so so happy to hear a tune come out of the mist (surprise) I had a smile from ear to ear watching and listening to you both. How could u not come from a music lesson with Lisa and not be smiling and feeling "yeah I just may be able to do this after all"
I'm self taught to playing piano, and your video always is my references. I was so enjoy to watch this because it totally look like when i was started playing piano. My advice, practice in short amount but frequently. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thank you so much. This was beautiful to watch and inspirational; just what I needed. Well done Kaitlyn and for your concert performance. What a great teacher, too.
You are a great teacher. You have helped me in my musical journey especially playing the broken chords. So glad I found you. Kaitlyn has a fantastic and caring teacher. She is doing a great job. I failed to mention that you have a beautiful voice. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I Loved this ❤️❤️❤️, Kaitlyn’s such an adore, I love how there’s no frustration from neither of them, the humor is there, lol they both had there errors, laughed it off and went back to enjoying it! 💕
That is great! I play the acoustic guitar and the drums, but always wanted to play the piano. My mother and father-in-law played before their passing away and thought how great it would be. After looking at your first lesson as a beginner, I could not believe how much was learned by learning about the C & F with the 2 and 3 black keys. Planning on to continue with your lessons on you tube and see where I stand a few months down the road. You are a great teacher!
This put me in the Christmas spirit and it’s January 20th! I taught myself Silent Night on Guitar by memory with no music, written or background. Starting G chord seemed natural for the song. This video confirms my decision!! Mabey there is hope for me!!
Im so excited to be learning to play piano at 67.. it has been so encouraging and fun to watch you and i looking forward to years of fun and learning....
This is awesome. I bought a keyboard because lockdown was a perfect excuse to do what i always wanted to do. This girl is doing way better than me, but im all in now and look forward to more teacher and student videos. I can relate. Please don't stop practicing and i wont. DEAL
one of the best "tips" to retain from this i feel is the fact that kaytlin pretty much never ends on the wrong notes, she take the time to really hit the right notes even tho it mean thinking for a few seconds about it sometimes
@@brandontitchenell4401 I'm still at it though not as much as I would like to. I am much more comfortable now with the mechanics of it and I can improvise fairy well over a couple keys that I'm more familiar with. I wouldn't consider myself a piano player, by any means, but I can fake it pretty well lol. It's a lot of fun and I don't sweat the practice time. I do it when I can and I enjoy it and things slowly fall into place. It's worth it. Best of luck with this.
i love the way you taught her.. which it seems you tried to get her attention and attract her with that song at the beginning of lesson.. great .. 😘👍..
This is a really good video. You just earned a new subscriber! My Father bought me a piano when I was 10 and I did not really used it.. until now. And watching your videos makes me learn the basic concepts and it helps me with my growth. I hope you'll create more videos once the pandemic has been cured! :)
That’s really good keep up the good work!!! This video help me because I have to play this song at a Christmas song . Thank you for posting this have a Merry Christmas 🎄
Nice voice ,,, well done to the young lady learning ,, well done ,,,and thank you for your vids appreciate them , take care and of those you love ,,, 0h merry Christmas Happy Holidays
If she wants to get better at playing broken chords, she should learn to play Set Fire to the Rain by Adele. It has a broken Dm, F, C, and then Gm chord progression in the verse. The way that the chords are broken are done in 2 different ways. Top, bottom, middle, bottom, top, bottom, middle note on the Dm and C chord. Then Top, bottom, bottom, middle, bottom note on the F and Gm chords. Hope this helps!
I'm a new player too, i little bit because of you :o) , I watched alomst all you video and I dont know if its too advance but I tried this song with a G inversion and is it a lot easyer to switch from the G to D ( for me). That been said, It is may be not a good thing sins I'm using the easy way ... I would like so mutch having a teacher like you Lisa. Keep your good work Kaitlyn. you are a inspiration for me and maybe a lot of other nwe player.
How come when I play on my 61 key keyboard using the same direction to get to the notes does it not sound right. Is it because mine is not a full size piano?
Hey! Great video, thanks! I came up with this chord progression (below) to make practicing that G-D change a little more entertaining than just switching between G and D, because it's hard for me, too!! I used your general 1-6-4-5 idea to come up with this progression that makes you switch more often so you can get more practice switching between the exact same chords of this song. There's more switching because you only play one bar of each chord. It's helped me so far, it makes playing Silent Night easier after you run through this a few times. You do the exact same left hand fingering that you show in this video, except that it sounds better when you play the two bars of G if you do 1-3-5 then 5-3-1 with the left hand to make it sound like a turnaround, but it's fine just doing 1-3-5 twice. It's simple, but pretty, and goes like this: G D G D Em C D G G Em C D G
