love this I've used MD for a while but hadn't really thought about using it for environments or things other than costumes. though one thing I sometimes do to make sci-fi hard surface armor is make the shapes in MD then pannel loop in Zbrush
I used this method before. I did a military camouflage net to cover military crates. This program is a must. I love it. Love you channel.
Ah thats an awesome use-case! And thanks - really appreciate it :)
Flipped bros this is gooooold ! Thanks !
This is rad. More Marvelous Designer tuts would be awesome.
Thanks! Will do.

I may heard that incorrectly... what were you saying?
"Throw a little penis cloth on that and you're done." "Sooo nice with that!" ..... o_O ok.
penile fabric
Cool, I thought I was the only pervert.
I'm dying laughing. My inner 12 year-old just came out.
I think Henning meant to say LOINCLOTH which lets be honest its the same shit lol
You two are the best thanks XD
Love it. How did you make the corners come down again on the torus at 9:30? First pressure to make it stick to it, then what to make the corners come down again without the whole thing falling down??
Thank you for videos friends
made me remember paul pepera when you referenced cloth on space, rest in peace
Hey Flips, how would you make a low poly of your cloth for like a Mobile Game? How Manny poly counts?
How do you get multiple object like those cubes into the scene?
Thank you! :)
Thank you guys :D
:D Hope it helped!
Hello. Where can I download fabric preset Linen ?
Is it possible to make the garment be attracted to the avatar in a specific direction instead of falling down using gravity?
Can I make blanket 3d Animation with Character sleeping on this software ? please answer me :)
how does your MD run so smooth? I cant go below 20 mesh space with 2 fps!!
maybe switch to gpu sim?
how to make a collision on my model from blender in marvelous?
Çok faydalı bir paylaşım olmuş tebrikler selamlar
How easy would it be to use MD for things like the membranes of a Dragon's/Demon's/Bat's wings?
i believe it would be kinda redundant to do that, wings are just stretchd skin, very tight and not much changes in the geometry when it retracts. The chances of the wings being deformed by complex geometries is not likely enough to simulate it like that.
This is a little bit off topic but I hear a lot of clicking when you move the camera, so you use a mouse. Have you tried a 3D mouse before? What is your opinion about them?
I use a 3Dconnexion Spacemouse Enterprise and I love it. You can turn on multiple axis and zoom at the same time really fast. There are lots of buttons under your fingers. You can assign macros for buttons, etc.
If someone else reads this, this is not an ad, don't buy anything. I am just curious. :D
That does sound interesting. I've looked into it before, but unlike with my Intuos, I'm just not sure how much use it would get outside of certain creative programs, or how much it would enhance those programs.
If the program has a 3D view and it is supported then it is definitely a useful tool.
If the program doesn't have a 3D view, you can scroll with it, move the cursor.
I saw that people used it as a game controller.
Actually, I (Henning) have and they are great. I used it for Max 10 years ago. Ultimately, I switched to a regular mouse and wacom tablet, where I spend most of my time with a tablet now, as it's more comfortable for my hand.
How to convert a non-cloth objects (imported object) to cloth object?
Just ALT and F4 and you can do the same thing 1:45
Why, when I simulate my fabric, it flew away, can't even see it in my screen? 😟😟😟
Sometimes pillow is moving like a vehicle, how to make it stay in place? 😟😟😟
try Reset 3D Arrangement or Ctrl F if you didn't change shortcuts.
Can I use it for Roblox as mesh? When I make something
Firrraaaaghhh love md
Could it simulate paper too? Creases paper? Maps? Crumpled paper?
No paper and it basically does not have memory for wrinkles either.
Very good question!
Really Cool! Can you import 3d models into marvelous designer to then simulate cloth on to?
Yup! That's what we're doing here with the primitives: they were brought from Maya.
@@FlippedNormals awesome thanks!
@@amaribrown8829 MD is awesome, it will intelligently create arrangement points for original characters. You've got to try to keep them to approximately human scale, and it can get confused for weird proportions. But all in all, it's really easy to bring in an original character.
@@josephbrandenburg4373 Ah thats great,Thanks! 👍🏽
I started learning MD today.
It feels like you can learn the basics pretty quickly so some advanced tips and tricks would be nice.
Gimme those secrets Ψ(☆w☆)Ψ
Thank you for the upload as always!
We're planning to do a lot more advanced stuff with MD! It's an incredibly powerful tool.
Check out Lauren Griffith's channel. You won't find better info about MD anywhere else.
In another tutorial I heard you guys are looking for a challenge, so here goes nothing- Please try to make a 'Dhoti' or even worse, a 'Saree' in MD. Also, I have a newbie question (Please answer), what's the point of using MD with ZBrush? Is it only for still renders? Because surely if you wanted to simulate clothes on an animated character you would only use MD, right?
Blender's cloth sim is okay. Simulating a napkin or something works fine but putting simulated clothes on characters is a nightmare and it can be really taxing on the system too.
Ofc you'll get top notch cloth sim with MD, the prize difference is horrendous
It depends on how you set it up. What I usually do is create a lo-res cloth object and use it as a seurface deformer for the hi-res model. And I tend to use a seperate mesh for the collision. But MD is so much better, not gonna argue with that. I love MD.
Edit: there's also supposed to be major improvements in 2.8. They added features for Spring and Agent 327.
Maybe give the plugin Modeling Cloth by Rich Colburn a try

is there a way to get a cloth to be glued to an object? Oml I'm going insane haha
Using pins 👍
@@FlippedNormals well thanks! Now I'll have to figure out if there is a way to draw a line where I want to pin the cloth, if not, I'll try just using many pins. Thanks guys, love your content!
What did you guys expected when you changed the fabric attributes and pinned it to the avatar? :D
It would have been unexpected if it didn't work as it did. It was pretty straight forward and basic MD work right there.
Hello
