The blub at the start about Diawa and Shimano was super helpful, thank you. My baitcasters have been Abu for 30+ years... I felt a loyalty... I have used little spincast reels for any light line fishing for decades... some part of me thinks I'm missing out on not having an open face...not sure why...every time I've tried one over the years I find them cumbersome. But... I may get one again anyway...the whole world seems to love then for UL fishing - which I am starting to do more and more of. I'll check out the Shimano and Diawa lines. Thanks again.
I have the mgxtreme30 been using over 8 mths. Still smooth has I got it, I try not abuse it on salt water fishing. Have landed some reds with it when fish LM bass in brackish water. That is one the reason I do go with little bigger spinning reels for lm bass fishing. People say all time that 30/3000 is for salt water. Sorry I got real Salt reels from shore to deep sea. I'm not rich but like buying real nice fishing equipment and like to keep what I have for long as I can lol. Can't go wrong with abu, it's people personal preference what they like or don't.
That is a great review of the Abu Garcia spinning reel lines. I hesitated buying 2 Revo X from Dicks Sporting Goods but your review help me to trigger the purchase. I just subbed and clicked the bell notification.
I have spoke about some of what you said on the forums and on here before... I bought a Revo STX because Abu was so good to me replacing multiple rods. I previously had a Stradic Ci4+FA and wanted to give Abu another shot. The STX is okay, and the replaced a Gen 1 Premier with a 2016 version for my wife. Both reels still function great and hers is currently fine because of less use, but neither are quite as refined as the Stradic Ci4+FA or FB that I own (which have caught countless amounts of fish). The STX has developed some "geary" feel and the Premier is still pretty smooth (Premier is 30 size, STX is a 20), the drags are great on both, and the Abu's have bearings in key points from what I can tell; but even with those extra bearings in proper spots the Shimano's spools wobble less and stay precise during larger fish fights. Again, I don't regret the purchase of these Abu's, but they are lacking a bit compared to the big 2 Japanese manufacturers...
What is your overall opinion about the abugarcia reels compared to shimano and daiwa regarding max drag power, material, weight, the way it feels in hand, how it sounds. I have used over the years few reels from shimano and daiwa ( stradic 1000 FA, rarenium 1000 FA, exist 2500, certate 2500, sienna 2500 FD and right now i use ninja 2000 LT) and now i want something else apart of this two. I like the design of the abugarcia reels but apart of this i don’t know anything else
Used the Revo rocket 3000, what the reel had in speed it lacked in power, well for an eggbeater to have such speed would definitely sacrifice power, that being said I tried the Revo premier had more grunt...but the anti reverse switch broke and ever since had an issue with the anti reverse, they are awesome looking reels, but gearing is definitely underpowered.
Thanks Scott!!! Funny timing. I just spooled your revo SX with 30lb power pro and will be doing honest transparent casting comparisons on every reel...I plan on doing the concept z, Revo SX, curado K, curado dc and tranx 200 if mah dang girlfreind would get back lol...I"m gonna some funny stuff too....like smash a cast into a brick wall....and dump the reels with a 200 yard cast :)

Any chance you will check out the Quantum smokes?
👍
I just noticed when you put a handle on you dont hold the rotor and snug it at all. I guess what i'm asking if that is bad. It is something I notice that I do and if you say it is bad I will certainly stop immediately.
Hey Kyle, If you look I'll stick my finger out a tad to catch the rotor. I Was trying to be quick so I didn't really go about it in a clear manner.
You definitely want to snug it up....but not go crazy with it. And each reel is different. Shimanos get sung but need another half turn or so. But these and daiwa reels get snug and only want another
@@TackleAdvisors Ahhh alright yeah I don't go crazy with it. just grip the rotor get a half turn (they are shimanos) Glad to know I wasn't doing any harm to my reels. I took those ci4s to a local shimano certified reel tech and he said the grease job they do from factory tends to be very poor and that is what the noise was.
Abu garcia for never :p
My 115 dollar ultegra from shimano is smoother than the mgx extreme😂
Weston G17 the $70 Sedona is smoother lol
Depends on the grease.smh
Ejacul8 On me than the ultegra or mgx?
Jimmy I still think the ultegra is smoother
@@westong1763 but much heavier
Those reels look like over priced junk.
Those reels? lol
Will not buying abu’s anymore. For the money, there so many other better reels. I opened up the lower reel trim and can see the rotating gear showing for the side plate. Really shitty design. Waste of money.
First!
Abu s are very blingy. not a fan of really lol
No argument here
MADE in China !!!
Most of abu garcia reels made in korea
I wouldn’t buy one coz it’s colors
They sure are not very pleasing to the eye.
