    That's one of the most beautiful interiors I've ever seen on a boat. The plants, the cushion colours, the fireplace! Very cozy and atmospheric. Well done!

    I've had a dream to live aboard and sail for 40 years. I live inland and traded that dream for 3 great kids, several house renovations and even a small horse/hobby farm for 10 years. At this point in life (68), I have a 22' Catalina on a trailer in the back yard, where it has suffered from my neglect and, finally, a big tree fall. Your video rekindles those old dreams and hopefully some action as well!
    What a beautiful and well thought out boat (and life?) you have!!
    Well done
    As I think about it, maybe the tree damage is God's "nudge". Lots to repair, but easy access to tools & materials. Good beginner project!Now, where did I leave that ambition??

    • @lifeislikesailing
      @lifeislikesailing  6 років тому

      Sounds like you had a great path in life and now you might have time to work on the Catalina and start a new path! So glad you enjoyed the tour! Alfy

    If you put a cold air intake from the floor for the heater you won't need a fan it will circulate by itself and take the cool air off of the floor ! While push warm air down ! It will also dehumidify without using power .
    Very nice boat !
    I used to work at a port deck hand on the mooring tender ! Seen a few boats !

    Thanks for the tour Alfy...... see why you and Mads get on so well! It's been marvelous to be able to follow along with your journeys, and I personally thank you for show the west coast sailing area which in my humble opinion is one of the greatest in the northern hemisphere! We look forward to you show us some sailing up in the Rupert area this coming year. Wishing a stellar year for you and the family, keep 'em coming, Jack. ⛵⛵⛵

I sometimes wonder if the viewers enjoy them as they seem to always have fewer views, comments and thumbs up when compared to the project and liveaboard type videos. I agree that I am in an amazing cruising area and I hope to show more of this amazing area to everyone. Happy New Year and Fair Winds in 2017!

    Yes i really love your sailboat and it looks really great, you have inspired me to do the exact same thing, I just bought a 1978 30 foot O"day sloop and the layout is exactly the same, just my kitchen is on the left side, I'm working on my sailboat right now and I should have it in the water in June , I wish you the best , I live down here in sunny Bradenton Florida and I'm putting my boat in a really nice cove and I'll use my 14 foot skiff to go over to shore ,, I'm watching for your next video , take care buddy :-)

    Thoroughly enjoyed watching this virtual tour of your lovely boat and home. You have to be consistently neat and tidy on board a boat I know, but you have paid such beautiful attention to detail yet kept simplicity as well. Kind of reminds me of a military "everything squared away" sort of discipline. Well presented boat/home. I like the fact that you don't see the point in renewing things just for the sake of renewing them. The 'old world charm' of this vessel is in the woods and deep red colours used. Well done again.

    • @lifeislikesailing
      @lifeislikesailing  7 років тому

      Thank you so much for you comments about the condition of the boat and how I keep her. :) I have found that keeping things clean and organized really makes living aboard more enjoyable and to be honest, that is my personality anyways. haha I agree that it isn't always necessary to change things that don't need replacing! Glad you enjoyed the tour and thanks for watching!!

    humid air, actually holds heat more efficiently, and reduces the load on your heat source. especially in winter months when the cold air is naturally more dry. conversely, in the summer months dry air is wanted, because it is easier to cool. Humid air feels warmer, dry air feels colder. Love your vids btw man.

      I guess the fan inside the stove actually needs energy? If you want to conserve some energy you could just put a small Heat powered fan on top of the stove. They are pretty cheap and very effective while using no power at all. :-)

    Thank you for posting most informative and such a beautiful boat. Cannot help but notice the uncanny resemblance between his voice and Pluto the schnauzer voice.

    Nice! I like OCD sailors! Well done. Thinking of moving from Colorado to the Caribbean to live on boat. In a 26' trailer in the Rockies now. Been watching a lot of live aboard vids, yours is best set up I've seen. Thanks

    Nice update. Your boat really looks good. You've set things up nicely and it looks very comfortable and workable. That's always a challenge on a boat, especially a live-aboard. Well done. Glad all is going well for you.

    Oh, I remember one of your videos saying you had kids. I have two. I'm thinking of becoming a live aboard soon and wondered how it was having kids on board for any length of time. thanks... again.

      I have found that my kids have thoroughly enjoyed being on the boat with me whether it be for the weekend or for a 2 week trip. I think people are adaptable so you you make what you have work and the space I have works well for us when we are all on board. :)

    Just found your vids, I love this, I thought I was tidy and practical on my boat but I am very impressed, makes me want to move up to this size and spend some glorious time messing around in my boat to get her to this standard of practical living. Fair winds my friend.

      So glad you found the channel and enjoyed the tour! The 34 fr length has been great for living aboard for sure and I am
      sure you would like the upsize. :) I hope you'll get a chance to check out some of my recent cruising videos too! Fair Winds. :)
