he looks like Gary Rossington ! Great band ! GE Smith tried to get them on SNL in the 90s but the idiots decided they didn't like the way the band looked! Conan gets it tho
I saw them at Sticky Fingers in Little Rock, 2006ish. The best bar bands ever. The drummer sold me their new CD, Zoysia after the show. We were dancing and having a blast! Good times.
Saw Brian by himself opening for Jay Farrar who was supporting his first solo album. It was just him and and electric guitar player. Minimalist heaven! At the end Jay called up David Rawlings and Gillian Welch (this was in Nashville). What a show!.

Brian recorded with Tupelo on Still Feel Gone and March 16-20, 1992 and did a lot of lead guitar on Wilco's first record and Jay and Jeff recorded a lot with Brian in the early days. A lot of love between the two bands.
I can't tell you exactly what he's playing, but i know on a few occasions Brian would just send a bunch of random parts to a luthier friend of his and have him put together a frankenstein guitar. I believe a couple he referred to as his trashcasters.

ONE OF the GREATEST LIVE ACTS I have EVER seen!
Just another great American band nobody ever heard of that is way to cool to get on the radio.
Played on WAAF in Boston which was a large market radio area in early 96 quite a bit
100%
One of my favorite songs from the 90's. The story, the music, the enthusiasm. Kicks Ass!

My band done this at a first responders games one time and had all the police and troopers turn on lights for this one fun tune to play
Shout out to old buck buerger the sheriff out here in Jefferson county back in the day

Mark Ortmann on Drums now plays with Marshall Crenshaw full time

When Uncle Tupelo appeared on Conan's show the year before, Jay Farrar had worn a Bottle Rockets t-shirt.
