This song hits my heart like sledge hammer too the chest. Made to many damn mistakes in life, hurt to many people and let my kids down to many times to count. Went to prison for 8 years, buried my wife and many friends along this lonely road. Got out of prison reconnected with my kids met an amazing woman getting married and now have 9 years clean and sober. We bought a house and a few Harleys doing good for ourselves but most of all my kids still call me dad and tell me they love me. Head up! Shoulders back! Never give in!
I recently buried my father to this song, and only found it a few days before I heard of his passing. He was a rough around the edges kind of guy. I know this song would of hit home for him. Just like it did to me. Save me a spot on the south side pops
I love all the new Ryan Bingham fans that have discovered him because of Yellowstone. Welcome friends, you're in for a treat, you can leave your snap trackin' pop-country at the door.
I read he wrote this song when he was 18 years old. Reading his life story and what he has been through;with parents who suffered through substance abuse problems(both have passed since), riding the texas rodeo ciruit and traveling through paris france practically homeless- all before 22 years of age; is nothing short of remarkable. A lot of musicians sing the life of rough, rugged "country". Ryan Bingham has lived it. I wish you well on your journey man.

I got out in 2016 and became an alcoholic. Ptsd is bad, my wife finally had enough one day after many nights of us not being able to sleep. I got sober, after almost drinking myself to death. I downed a 30 pack and a bottle of jack...I wanted to die...Don't make the same mistake

Wearing this song out on repeat!!! LOL!!! And yes I found out about Ryan Bingham from Yellowstone. Hell at least I have heard of this dude now. I love you ALL. Be good to each other out there.
Hey Ryan....I was married to a professional studio singer/musician for over 10 years. I've seen the best of the best. I discovered you on Yellowstone and it was immediately obvious that you're also 1 of the best. FYI...your songs are MOST POWERFUL when it's just you and your guitar. It hits your soul much harder!! Love your style.
This song reminds me of my life as a ranch manager. Most days I wish I was back to working livestock and driving big ol feed trucks 14-18 hours a day. It is a lifestyle that only a few love. I'm one of them and it was ripped away from me by greedy bastards and an administration that hates the people that feed the country.
Are you kidding me?! I've been searching YEARS for this song and now I stumble across it without particular intention?! I remember seeing this on TV back then, nearly ten years ago, being one of the first country songs I perceived as such (not much contact with that type of music over here where I live), and obviously both the singer and the song/video have been stuck in my head since then. But I couldn't remember neither his nor the song's name, and it has bothered me for such a long time. And then, just minutes ago, that name (and thumbnail) strikes my eye between all those other videos and I instantly recognized it. Man ... how happy I am now. This just made my day.
Some songs come out like a prayer, wrenched out of the depths of one’s heart, a fragment of a soul that is searching, searing, falling and flying in a moment or two, hoping to find its way to God’s ear.
gentleman if you wanna hear good country like this look up 95.9 the ranch its a radio station here in texas and they only play this kind of stuffyour welcome
Hey Cody my co worker told me about the ranch about 6 months ago. Checked it out the other day and it seems to be Mexican music??? Maybe it's my area idk. Do you still listen to 95.9?
Yeah sometimes it'll pick up the Mexican music radio frequency when your on the outskirts on the ranch's range. but you can down load their app on the apple store or android's and play their station thru that.
I heard of Ryan Bingham for the first time years ago at my uncles funeral. “Don’t you wait for me, was played at his funeral, was my favorite song then I didn’t even know that was him in Yellowstone until I recognized his voice and now I’m actually listening to more of his songs and I’m just in love with his music
This song reminds me of when your sitting around a camp fire and your half asleep and every on else is still talking and your just thinking about your self waiting to go to bed. Great song
Song always brings me Back to a very low point in my life, the year this song was released, but I pulled out of it just like Bingham. Life got better just like the song picks up. Great song RB
This song reminds me of my life the oilfield life that it is. I’m from East Texas. And let me tell y’all it’s a lonely life, I’ll travel in my Chevy pickup all the way to West/South Texas depending where they send me. New Mexico, Louisiana. I love it though. Nothing like turning up this kind of music and just going where the wind takes me. But there’s nothing like coming home to both of my baby girls ❤️ y’all stay safe out there.
I live in Athens, Greece and it’s been a dream of mine to visit the states one more time and just go on a long road trip listening to this kind of country music for hours without a care in the world…

Never heard of Ryan Bingham but saw a post on FB about this song. Title intrigued me. Man, he's got the gravel in his voice. Country blues? LOL However you wanna call it, this is what the world needs more of.
Never in my life had liked country music, now that I get older and become more about a simple life and family, I’m trying as I like what much stands for . Including being a proud American, rather than fussing about what we don’t have. None the less I’ve had this song and a few Chris Night songs on repeat the last few weeks. Loving it. Thanks guys.
This song sends me far away my home reminding of how far i have come after doing 23 years flat in prison i met my sweetheart that i dated back as a kid and now been married to her going on nine years i was blessed to have finished my 10 years of parole being free now i cherish being able to get up and get something to eat on my mine go outside when i want and most all i owe all my blessings to our mighty god.
Yep, I didn't recognize his face. I told my wife when he showed up with the guitar in the scene "I bet I know him just not sure who he is yet" because there was so much good music so far in that show. THen he sang a half a verse and I was like Ryan Bingham. She thought I was full of shit. So I had to IMDB him and then ask alexa to play south side of heaven while we paused the episode. Damn good show. Damn good background music in it. They had a whole whiskey myers episode.
this is country its not that house party shit or that hunter hayes fuck boy shit this is the real stuff that makes u feel good and puts goosebumps on your arms

a real song by a real voice in country music.....Man. To compare it to other bands is like comparing a meal from day to day, you just enjoy what you want that day....That is the way I am with music, just love it all.....Another great singer from Texas, and a great understated band. Left me speechless...Remembering texas...
Damn Straight. I remember seeing Ryan Bingham in my Home Town of New Braunfels Texas When he was just starting out the only album he had out was Mescalito and i saw him at guene Hall.I lit a Cigarette for him.
This song helped me a lot this past year with the passing of my best friend. Just a reminder on how great songs help the hurting soul. Thank you for this song......
This video looks exactly like where I live and where i've grown up now. The first video I ever saw of his, and I knew from that moment i'd love his music. But over the years now, i've come to realize how much I truly relate. The best music to me writes my soul and heart. I often run out of things to say, how to express how I feel, why I always just let music speak for me. Not everyone will listen though. Not everyone's spirit will find the truth. Too many people lost in greed, power, hatred, and everything in between. But i'll always be grateful for this music. Even this ends up being the last words I ever type. Just know some of us truly believe and have been inspired by honest, down to earth music.
Hate to say that I'm here because of Yellowstone...but proud to say that from the first time I heard this man's voice, I haven't been able to get it out of my head. Will be a fan from now until forever. Wish I woulda found out about him sooner, but I guess now is better than never.
Ryan Park hahaha nothing in Texas beats the scenery in West Texas, those mountains are something else. The pink sunsets of the llano estacado plains have no rival. What's east Texas? Racism and green trees.

I used to live in the badlands of New Mexico and some good ol boys in the oilfield turned me on to him. I've been listening to him before he blew up from Yellowstone
Discovered this song about 3-4 years ago. Thought it was about a year or 2 old at the time...seeing it uploaded 13 years ago makes me wonder at 29 years old..how I've been blind to this peice of gold...didn't grow up poor at all..but "money can't buy my soul cause it comes from a hard earned place" just brings tears to my eyes. North fl born and raised.
Great song sir. True cowboy, I was at a bar when you were promoting this record in Louisville, Kentucky. Up close and personal, you gained a true fan and friend in me. How can you not enjoy listening to this. Why won’t the radio play such a great song? Country music is not dead…. It’s just hiding out inside UA-cam.
On Spotify too. I’ve discovered some serious gems both places.

But on the south side of heaven
Won't You take me home
'Cause I've been gone for so long
And Lord, it's getting cold
Been listening to Ryan Bingham for about 5 years. Recently watched Yellowstone and knew immediately I would love it. 4-16-22

Who else watched Yellowstone having no idea about this guy and now here with this song on repeat!?
I knew him way be4 yellowstone. I was surprised he could act. Loved him for a long time.
J C , been listening to his music for awhile myself , I did a double take when I saw him in Yellowstone .
Haven’t seen Yellowstone, but I keep hearing about it. Might watch it right now.
Me too man and I'm usually really on top of my country/folk/indie. Either way great to find him even if it's so late. So good.
Started listening to Ryan when he did the song in the movie Crazy Heart
This guy is a good singer and a great actor. He did awesome job of portraying Walker on the Yellowstone series.
Agreed!
Has nobody else seen Yellowstone besides myself? I just like this dude's music 😐
I just came here because of this!!! My mind is blown
He has been playing music way before he was in Yellowstone. Such a great voice

This just made my day.
good for you bro.. im a filipino and i love real country music..
damn, felt that, been there. Best feeling ever.
He is amazing! I could care less that he was in Yellowstone.. even tho he was great. He is an amazing artist. Definitely want to hear much much more

So True every verse. OORAH!
Some songs come out like a prayer, wrenched out of the depths of one’s heart, a fragment of a soul that is searching, searing, falling and flying in a moment or two, hoping to find its way to God’s ear.
Songs come out like a prayer....Well said dude....
Thank you Yellowstone for bringing me here!! Some of my favorite moments on the show are when Walker (Ryan) sings! I absolutely love his voice!
gentleman if you wanna hear good country like this look up 95.9 the ranch its a radio station here in texas and they only play this kind of stuffyour welcome
Hey Cody my co worker told me about the ranch about 6 months ago. Checked it out the other day and it seems to be Mexican music??? Maybe it's my area idk. Do you still listen to 95.9?
+SaturdayMorningToysandCollectables It's Dallas forth worth station. They have an app
95.3 the range maybe?
+Tommy johns 95.9 the ranch in Ft. Worth.
Great song
Ryan and my dad grew up in the same town! My dad listened to you every day. Until he died.
Song always brings me
Back to a very low point in my life, the year this song was released, but I pulled out of it just like Bingham. Life got better just like the song picks up. Great song RB
♥️♥️♥️💪 Stay strong my friend 🙂

This song reminds me of my life the oilfield life that it is. I’m from East Texas. And let me tell y’all it’s a lonely life, I’ll travel in my Chevy pickup all the way to West/South Texas depending where they send me. New Mexico, Louisiana. I love it though. Nothing like turning up this kind of music and just going where the wind takes me. But there’s nothing like coming home to both of my baby girls ❤️ y’all stay safe out there.
Check out lonely east Texas nights
I live in Athens, Greece and it’s been a dream of mine to visit the states one more time and just go on a long road trip listening to this kind of country music for hours without a care in the world…
Oilfield Trash for life!
I was born in Dallas, and my Dad was a rodeo cowboy. My brother played steel guitar. Ryan is pure genius. This is real country.

The one and only Ryan Bingham! You know him with the first distinctive sound of his voice. One of a kind!!
Don't forget your grandparents...Jan taught me how to drive around Hastings Lake...I ran errands for her...her hands were crippled with arthritis...Tim Searl here and I love Nebraska ❤
This is my favorite song ever written…sinks in so sic…sittin ina bathtub drinking a warm beer , cryin…
Never heard of Ryan Bingham but saw a post on FB about this song. Title intrigued me. Man, he's got the gravel in his voice. Country blues? LOL However you wanna call it, this is what the world needs more of.
Most underrated country video of all time.....this is one hip, wistful, and gratifying piece of art. His wife did an awesome job producing it
Amazing song. Need more music like this in the radio. Most music today is crap.
I so appreciate you Mr Bingham. I found this song divine timing. Then lost it. Found you on Yellowstone. God and this song got me through. Team Walker
If your foot's not tapping, are you even listening? 😊❤

Watched Yellowstone, heard your voice, loved it, watched bunk house and found you. Such a happy camper ❤️
How old are you?
Who else can thank the Yellowstone show for introducing us to him
Knew him long before yellowstone fantastic artist 🍺

He was in Season 15, Episode 15 of ER as an actor and sang this to a little girl in the hospital.

And now starring in the Paramount Network TV Series “Yellowstone” ....Ryan Bingham
He was also in one of the best movies - Crazy Heart. Did all the music for that too.
this is country its not that house party shit or that hunter hayes fuck boy shit this is the real stuff that makes u feel good and puts goosebumps on your arms
You got a like for the phrase "hunter Hayes fuck boy shit" lmao.
😂😂😂 hunter hayes lol
Agreed 100% brother!!
Amen
Reminds me of Bob Dylan more than Hank or Waylon.
My daddy Frank passed away when I was 16 years old. (He was my step father but he fought for us when the state tried to come get us). Jeff Loyd, his best friend, promised daddy Frank that if anything ever happened to him (daddy Frank) that he (Jeff Loyd,) would watch over mama and us four kids. Jeff had a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, I am praying that everyone prays for him, he has so much going on (sedated, fractures, ventilator, brain swelling, and a bunch more. .... I know it's been 4 months but I hope all is well

I met the love of my life, a young cowboy in Carlsbad, NM....His favorite song was this....Southside of Heaven..... as it is mine
a real song by a real voice in country music.....Man. To compare it to other bands is like comparing a meal from day to day, you just enjoy what you want that day....That is the way I am with music, just love it all.....Another great singer from Texas, and a great understated band. Left me speechless...Remembering texas...
Yeah Luke Bryan sucks ass
Damn Straight. I remember seeing Ryan Bingham in my Home Town of New Braunfels Texas When he was just starting out the only album he had out was Mescalito and i saw him at guene Hall.I lit a Cigarette for him.
Mary poppins spoon full of sugar
This song helped me a lot this past year with the passing of my best friend. Just a reminder on how great songs help the hurting soul. Thank you for this song......
Listened to this for hours on a loop when my uncle died. He was like a dad to me, and when he passed, it hurt bad.
He voice has so much soul
So gifted 🙏 you can see it in his eyes as he sings
Perhaps the single best piece of American [insert unnecessary genre adjective] music of the last 20 years.
I used to listen to this all the time with my Jeremy 💔😭🙏 God I miss him so much. I love you Jeremy Bertram always and forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Did it the other way. Watched Yellowstone because of Ryan. Win win.
God bless America. Ryan is the best
The whole Mescalito album is a MASTERPIECE. Ive heard It so much now that It lives in me. It's definitely top 3 for me in terms of records.
Desperado in West Texas. Sounds so foreign for a girl born, raised and working in Chicago my entire life, but it sounds awesome!! I love this music.
JustMeJT Texas is wonderful west Texas? absolutely amazing.
Joseph Ross East Texas is better imo
Ryan Park hahaha nothing in Texas beats the scenery in West Texas, those mountains are something else. The pink sunsets of the llano estacado plains have no rival. What's east Texas? Racism and green trees.

Read the mans life story.. Hits ya that much harder
Me too
I used to live in the badlands of New Mexico and some good ol boys in the oilfield turned me on to him.
I work in the Jim Beam whiskey business and would love to personally gift you some of our finest Kentucky Bourbon. Thank you for what you do friend as it has touched me in many ways. Support from me will always be there.

This is the first country music I've taken an interest in since Johnny Cash and I guess, Neil Young. Like a lot of people, I found out about Ryan by watching Yellowstone. Great character. Great song-writer. The lyrics resonate with me. I'll be looking for more of his music.
This was also on an episode of er. And on a damn good episode.
First discovered Bingham some 12 years ago. His work on the movie Crazy Heart earned him a Grammy i believe. Way before Yellowstone. One great artist.
