It may have been run-of-the-mill back in its era but it sure is awesome today. If they could be built to perform to today’s expectations and priced right, some new modern retro-style Vespas would be a treat.
I owned a 1958 Vespa 150 just like the Vespa you are showing on your video. Mine was the same color. It was in the spring of 1959 and I was fifteen years old. We lived about forty miles north of Sacramento, California and I found it for sale in the Sacramento newspaper for $250. The Vespa had been driven only 250 miles. I had saved enough money by working for $1.00 an hour - or less - and had enough to by it. The first 250 miles I rode it was to finish the 500 mile break-in period. I owned it less than a year later with about 7,500 miles on it to buy a motorcycle. I want another Vespa...please.
I remember when I was a kid in 1958, I used to browse my dad's Sears Roebuck mail order catalogue for fun because so many toys listed inside. I came across the nude T-bar handle Vespa ridden by Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in the movie "Roman Holidays" of 1952 which was listed for US$499.99 then. Now I am 70 years old while my dad has passed away 24 years ago. I miss the good old days with my dad and my big brother.
I had a 1959 brazilian made VB1. Beautiful and a thrill to ride, but I can't get around wideframe engines. Largeframes and smallframes are so much easier!
Very nice looking scooter from my era. Enjoyed the flashback in time from when I decided I wanted a scooter - Vespa, Allstate, Harley Topper, Cushman, those were the days.
How would you like to work on my 1962 Vespa P125cc? Bought it direct from Genoa, Italy when I was 17 years old. Came in a crate and I had to assemble it with Italian directions. Had to find a friend to translate for me. Still only has 6950 miles on it. Loved it on the road for many years. Incidentally mine used to make over 60 miles per hour and sometimes up to 150 miles per gallon Canadian.
Always exciting when Robot has some classic vespa to show us

Wonderful! Thanks for showing us around 😊
Probably an Abarth exhaust. Really like the VB1s. Love that bluish VB1 color too.
Awesome, thanks for making and posting this video.

Sweet! I have an Allstate VNB.

I wish Vespa would do a reintroduction of the VB1.
Royal Alloy have cloned the Lambretta, and Vespa really need to exploit their back catalogue. I'd go for GS/SS styling with 300cc motor.
