Interesting, I find the "bold strategy" line funny for totally different reasons than the sin in this video. The joke is not that Pepper is unaware of Cotton announcing the forfeit (as Jeremy says), rather it's a comment on the color analyst on sports telecasts - that is, stating something so obvious that it didn't need saying but doing so with fierce conviction. So e.g. a quarterback throws an interception on a crucial third-and-long, only for the analyst to pipe in with something like, "And that, Jim, is not what Trubisky wanted to do at this point in this football game." Of course, when Pepper says the line, he's commenting on the ultimate form a decision that won't likely pay off. At least, that's how I've always enjoyed that line. Maybe I've been around too many broadcasters, especially ones early in their careers. 😛

It's still crazy to me that this movie caused a small boom in the popularity of dodgeball. Not long after this movie was a hit, Game Show Network made the show Extreme Dodgeball, which ran for 3 seasons and took so much inspiration from the tournament in the movie, especially the themed teams. This movie had lumberjacks, rappers and stereotypical Japanese people, while Extreme Dodgeball has accountants, tattoo artists, mimes, horse jockeys... and yeah, other Japanese stereotypes in the form of sumo guys. I guess that couldn't be avoided back then.
Why avoid it, though, exactly? Do unique aspects of other cultures not deserve to be enjoyed? What if they are parts of those culture, or enjoy us seeing a small aspect of their culture? Do they not get to enjoy that exposure because you're over here ensuring that all cultures stay in their lanes like the ultimate xenophobe?

Fun fact #2: The guy who threw the soda at Steve The Pirate is director Rawson Marshall Thunder.
To add to fun fact 1, that is the reason for the ending scene with Ben Stiller, that was him ranting about the ending he was forced instead of the one he wanted.
“Fuckin Chuck Norris”
@@Scottland89 To add to fun fact 1.5, Vince and Ben stuck the "Deus Ex Machina" sign on the treasure chest as a kind of protest - they knew they were sinning!
This movie has no sins and is a perfect cinematic masterpiece
21:17 I was hoping the alternate audio was going to be a "The Simpsons" reference: Nelson: "You made me bleed my own blood."
They did it first! 😂
I feel sorry for people who can't just enjoy a comedy like this *cough* Jeremy
I think he does enjoy these movies. He just likes making fun of them. I love the sinning of movies I like. They're funny.
I feel sorry for people who don't understand this channel is satire.
Back when films were fun.
Dear cinema sins….relax 😂
Missed opportunity in outtakes to have Nelson Muntz say "You made me bleed my own blood ..." 😅
Damn I love the outtakes. Remember when they separated them from these? Ding! Lol.
cinemasins cant hold a candle
Rest in peace, Rip Torn.
Yes. RIP Rip Torn.
I legit think this channel would sin Tropic Thunder for having blackface...
They were always left-leaning, but tolerable the first few years. Once they started reviewing comedies, I knew the end was nigh. They're 100% woke now, sadly.
It wasn’t blackface. It was a dude disguised as a dude playing another dude.
Or whatever; RDJ has a lifetime pass to the cookout.
@@tboyd5150 As someone who’s stuck around to CinemaSins for this long and listening to their podcast, SinCast, it should be worth noting that CinemaSins is made up of 6 or more writers, all of which have varying opinions on what they like or dislike. So these videos are not all of Jeremy’s (the narrator’s) opinions. Listening to their various podcasts including Behind the Sins, i think it’s pretty clear CinemaSins has become very woke in the last 3 years, probably since 2021 when they sinned Wedding Crashers. But after listening to their main podcast SinCast for a long time, it’s also very clear that Jeremy, Chris and Barrett have been seemingly praising and quoting films like Dodgeball and all the various comedies they’ve been recently sinning, but I feel like ever since Barrett retired from the CinemaSins team at the end of 2021 to support his family, what remains left of the team have now become way too PC and woke, and it makes me sad seeing Jeremy tweet about Step Brothers after he sinned it, compared to the podcasts I’ve been listening to where they used to have legit great senses of humor. I still want to support these guys because of the podcasts they’ve done takes me back to a time when they were once more laid-back and less crank-asses about comedies
If CinemaSins wants to become Social Justice Warriors, then they’d have to go back through each year in history of anything that could be considered offensive, which means the comedies from the 80’s like Porky’s, Revenge of the Nerds, Sixteen Candles, etc.
CinemaSins really doomed their own channel by deciding to sin comedies, starting back in 2021 when they sinned Wedding Crashers, it all went downhill from there. But at least listening to old episodes of their podcast, SinCast, will take me back to a time when these guys could laugh and enjoy all these comedies that they’re now ruining with their videos
@@tboyd5150define woke. Quickly
Here hoping they just said "this movie is perfect" with just 21 minutes of black screen
Unfortunately the perfect movie doesn't exist.
Tell me one "perfect" movie and these guys will tear it apart.
Agree, this movie is perfect!
@@Arthur19-v3yI mean these guys are not the arbiters of the cinema universe.
There are no sins in this movie AND YOU KNOW IT
You missed one. The "Ocho" announcer says the event is an "open" but the graphic says it's an "invitational".
Maybe it's an open invitational?
This movie is one of the greatest comedies ever made, sins or no.
This movie taught me the Five Ds of Dodgeball: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge! Also, Chuck Norris is a legend.
THIS👍
A CHUK NORRRISSSSS!
Chuck Noriss is so awesome that he can even make mountains talk
I knew that from Watching Walker Texas Ranger that he is a legend.
I haven't watched this in forever. Thanks for reminding me how good it was. That said, don't let modern sensibilities get in the way of enjoying these old comedies. Be careful of lens you're viewing it through.
cinemasins being cinemasins please sin cinemasins for being cinemasins
They have, twice
Lol I love when people get upset that "their favwet mooovie gets sinned" bahahaha have a cry
Greatest movie about dodgeball ever. Fact!!
And made even better by NOT having a sequel!!
Back when a good movie was just a good movie.
@@josebrown5961 100% true!!
@@josebrown5961the Shrek franchise will beg to differ
@@donniesumling8549What are you saying, Shrek had many sequels? I personally stopped at the second one. And I love Mike Meyers and Eddie Murphy.
There was nothing a second Dodgeball film could have done other than tarnish what the first one did.
@@josebrown5961 there was 4 in total. And while this movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, I agree with you. There's nothing a sequel can add to this at all
Out of all the “sins”, there are only about 7% real sins in here, so the rest just hurts my ears. What happened to Cinemasins?
Virtue signalling
The point on this channel is to over criticize, so you can't be mad at him for that. I will say this content is getting repetitive, I'm surprised he still makes these
I don’t feel like it was always this over critical on comical shit but man
I love how you point out everything funny about this movie.😂
I've waited this day so long. And it's finally here.
Can you believe this film is already 20 years old? That’s crazy!
But, I’m going to need you to sin the first SpongeBob movie. You’ve got until the end of the year for its 20th anniversary.
Some movies are horrible, but sometimes we love them that way. This movie is precious 😂
AM I JUST NOW REALIZING THAT THIS MOVIE HAS BOTH CHUCK NORRIS AND DAVID HASSELHOFF IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤯🤯🤯
CinemaSins used to be funny... now they just complain about everything being discriminatory or racist. Yawn.
Yeah, I like Jeremy but does he need to get triggered by every non-PC movie?
One winter, there was a terrible ice storm just before Christmas that cut the power for days. My dad borrowed a generator from one of our relatives, which was just powerful enough to power our TV and DVD player. This was ironically the best part of Christmas that year. Movie rental stores were still a thing then.
I completely forgot that Lori Beth Denberg was the one to do THAT scene...
Poor woman.
Oh woooow I never realized that
Me and my family use to watch this movie sooooooo much and my sister and I still reference “nobody makes me bleed my own blood” 😂
Every time I watch the scene where White is introducing his players, I keep thinking of the movie Hoodwinked, with one of the minions is named Keith. I know this movie came out before Hoodwinked, but it is still fun to imagine the banter that could have been possible between White and Peter in that scene.
Be Prepared!!
Sinning this movie is the biggest sin of all.
Steve the pirate didn't do anything to help yet gets all the benefits
He was in most of the games. Owen sat on the bench until the last game.
This is my absolute favourite movie of all time, had been since I was young.
Now I want to see Alan Tudyk in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie to complete the circle of life.
I find it funny how Jeremy sins this movie and tries to make all the jokes NOT funny but instead his sarcasm makes this movie AND the cinema sins video together EVEN FUNNIER
The Green Bay Packers have one of the worst fan bases ever?
Jeremy probably just pissed off millions of people.
@@ChiSportsNut18 😂😂 Probably. Might be from the Midwest, but not Wisconsin.
I had to rewatch that to make sure I heard him right. I was so confused. Lol
He's probably a Bears fan.

This is movie is the “underdog” of one of the top movies ever made. Seriously in my top 5 movies.
He probably needs $50,000 to get caught up on his payments, not pay it off.
Exactly. I was like, you're making fun of them, but do YOU understand how payments work?!?
why'd it take so long for this vid to come out, one of the best movies ever made dude
I found it kind of funny that the actress who plays the tax attorney that Ben Stiller constantly harasses is actually married to Ben Stiller

Before I watch this… I better see a son off for “If you can Dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”
No sins here, folks, let's move on
One of the greatest comedies ever made. I've lost count on how many times I've seen it.
20 minutes of perfection?
Finally, PDGA gets a reference on the channel. Super pumped as a fan of disc golf!!
Is cinemasins planning doing a video about Song of the South and just sinning the isms and ists? Because that’s what most of this one was.
THAT'S A BOLD STRATEGY, LET'S SEE HOW IT PLAYS OUT FOR HIM!
I'm honestly surprised that there were no references to "Vegas, baby! Vegas!" and "Billy Madison" in the outtakes.
I don't care what you say. I still find this movie hilarious.
No one said that you don't find it hilarious
The funniest joke was the "alternate ending" on the original DVD.
And apparently it was the original ending too
Damn.....I was going to mention that. I loved it.
What was the alternative emding
