Masterful work. This has to be one of Korn's best and most crushing sounding songs as well as being incredibly atmospheric. They were a young band and arguably their most creative period here. The main riff, the beat, the vocals and trippy lead guitar make the chorus out of this world good
Atmospheric as fuck. This song has a certain mystique. I’ve found that it’s relatively hard to find unless you’re looking for it. They don’t usually play it live and it’s on the soundtrack to a mediocre late 90s movie and yet it’s easily one of their best songs. Even the lyrics you find online seem kind of dubious. It feels like a bit of an Easter egg that only real Korn fans know about.
They were so out of their minds creatively during the Follow the Leader era. The guitar back and forth between Head and Munky always makes the hair stand on the top when I hear this song, usually after not hearing it for awhile, seeing how it's not actually on Follow the Leader. This is total time warp back to that era. An especially special feeling for someone like me who has followed and known about them since 94 and have gone seen them go through all their different phases.
+Viewing Account the guitar work on FTL was some of the most understated and creative that has been in metal I think. No flash, but the soundscapes they made with them were insane. Whatever they were on at the time...they should get back on it.
it was recorded during follow the leader. funny thing is...jonathan was going to put this on queen of the damned...but instead wrote 5 songs for the film and just had others record them in the soundtrack...if it wasn’t for the end of days soundtrack, this song would’ve probably never seen the light of day
@@randiomettle4513 sshhhh🤣 ( I'm not wrong.) It's funny...I actually read it and agreed with it in my head before I looked at the person who posted it. It was myself 😂😂😂 don't remember posting it lol
@@jacobboone7453 to me so called nu metal is just a name they put on any band that came after KoRn, I like some of them but a lot of the so called nu metal bands sucked to me. to me if I had to give a name to KoRns music I would just call it KoRn. I love how much they experiment with each album, some fans don't like it and that's ok but I love bands that are always evolving and playing around with their sound.
I still have absolutely no idea why they thought All In the Family would fit in better on follow the leader. This song is out-of-this-world good. The chorus is absolutely amazing (heavy as hell), and the use of octave pedals during the verses is also a really cool facet. Way too good to just be a B-side on a soundtrack IMO.
Yeah I just pretend All in the Family doesnt exist. Always have. Korn's always been known to have a subtle tongue in cheek sense of humor in some of their songs. Songs like Yall Want A Single K@%! All in the Family Beat It Upright and I swear theres a couple im forgetting. In fact, K@%! was released to radio stations as the 1st single as a joke for the Life is Peachy era-its full of curse words as we all know...... Korn did not give 2 fucks back then and were cocky. They then sent radio stations the real 1st single which was No Place To Hide.
Maybe record label interference? LB and cheesy nu metal was basically peaking at that time so I could see pressure being put on Korn to ditch an amazing track like this for All in the Family. It’s a shame. That song is definitely my least favorite on an almost perfect album. Camel Song is amazing.
I blew out the speakers in my car, cranking this song. Well, it was probably a combination of KoRn for 5 years straight. But this song I can’t help but blast it. My daughter asked me if this was music. 😆 “just keep listening kiddo.”
Man Ray may be a good drummer but I believe David is always gonna be the best for KoЯn. Hes the only one that can bring the funk in KoЯn. Just goes so well with KoЯn \m/
I get so into this song I close my eyes and sing along and dance a little lol. I only do that with KoRn. Sometimes other songs when I mess around but KoRn i just get so into the music.
This song is pretty awesome. My favourite Korn albums have to be Life Is Peachy and Issues. Life Is peachy was a very very risky release after their first self titled album and holy shit...it paid off. Plus Issues was one of the first albums I really started listening to back when i was 8 yrs old, ( I used to steal my big sister's CDs) issues is quite a crazy album since the lyrics are pretty fucked up, but i didn't understand what half their shit ment then haha best band ever. KoRn
Fuck yeah dude! I still cant believe he joined back on a permanent basis. I always thought his religion and how dedicated he is too it would keep him from doing so. Now we just need David! lol
For those wondering about the song titles-Korn has "working titles" for songs. Theyll start writing a song and not have an official title, so theyll use just anything, random words, goofy sayings,,,,and then change it to real song titles before the album is finalized. I have a feeling, with this not being an actual album cut (soundtack okay but not official album) they said fuck it and just published it with the working title. They did a song by song talkup about each song on their latest album Serenity of Suffering its on UA-cam you can search for it- they talk about the working titles for some of the songs. For example if my memory serves they used Heads moms name as the working title for Black is the Soul and I have a feeling im so wrong about that dont quote me on that but you get the gist. Its on here look it up.
I did not know Chi used to be called Poopy Diaper. But I totally believe it. Some of their working titles even make sense. "One More Time" was "Corners of my Mind" for example.
Shit man.. ive never heard this song before and i thought ive heard everything by em.. Jeesus i love the fucking drums and bass in this song lol. Its fucking eerie.
I luv this song. meaning i think is, ur lying to everyone trying to be something else and its going lead you no where. you did it all for someone and wont stop trying. "cant you see i do this all for you?"
i always thought this song was recorded during issues but i guess i'm wrong. was jingle balls recorded during the issues or follow the leader sessions? issues and ftl are so cool, issues is like a part 2 to ftl :)
Alejandro Ginori Hi. I can't find the End of Days soundtrack on iTunes, so I guess I'll have to find a physical copy somewhere :) thanks for you're help though
When (and how) did you become a bass-freak then? (Tell me your other influences, plz, cuz I would like to listen to various music, but preferably with a comparable bass.)
Fav slipknot albums are prob like.. Iowa All hope is gone Vol 3 Self titled... Its pretty well a tie for vol 3 and self titled. But yeah all of korns albums are great. The last 2 were interesting but not as good as there old shit. Im not someone that praises the first 2 albums though fuckin love Issues and take a look in the mirror alot. This track deserved to be on ‘Follow the Leader’. Undoubtedly one of their best tracks. 😔
It was supposed to be on Life is Peachy

This song reeks of 'Follow the Leader'. You could make a case that this should have been on the album
it was recorded during follow the leader.
funny thing is...jonathan was going to put this on queen of the damned...but instead wrote 5 songs for the film and just had others record them in the soundtrack...if it wasn’t for the end of days soundtrack, this song would’ve probably never seen the light of day
This song was on the ‘End of Days’ soundtrack. Wish this would have been on Follow The Leader - easily could have replaced ‘All In The Family’.
That “take me away” breakdown right after the funky bridge is so good. Before nu-metal was a dirty word, Korn were straight up trailblazers.
That intro,man... That fucking intro is from outer space

More money. They made money using it for End of Days. It's marketing and advertising. Smart move
Completely agree. I wish Korn would return to this sound.

KoRn should put an album together with all of these unreleased songs that im finding on here.

One of their best songs for real !
A great and underrated song and it’s only on the end of days soundtrack

I thought it was recorded for a movie, I know it was recorded in 1999
DeathxStarx187 What movie?
End of Days
DeathxStarx187 Recorded in 99. But it's totally FTL influenced as you can hear this is nothing like Issues and everything like FTL.
DeathxStarx187 I believe it is just a scrapped FTL song that made it on a movie soundtrack. Not specially recorded for End of Days.
