  • Recipe here: www.joyofbakin... This New York Cheesecake has three layers, starting with a Graham Cracker Crust. Next, is a deliciously rich, and tangy sweet, cream cheese filling that has a wonderfully dense and creamy smooth texture. The top layer is lightly sweetened sour cream. This cheesecake is very good on its own, or you can serve it with fresh berries or a fruit sauce.

What I love about your videos ? No [disturbing] music, natural talking, rare video cuts, not too much focus on the show but on the content, very informative (the why of things , not only how), your compassion to baking, not to mention the recipes.

I made this cheesecake yesterday and followed your recipe precisely. It is exactly what a perfect cheesecake is supposed to be. Everyone should have this recipe written in ink in their safety deposit box.

I've made this recipe twice and it's so good! I tasted the cake after 9 hours and after 24 hours and it really makes a difference leaving it for 24 hours. I used vanilla extract the first time and vanilla bean paste the second but I prefer the flavor and appearance of the vanilla extract. I've tried it with and without the topping and I feel like it's more for appearance than flavor, but I would recommend doing the topping anyways.

Truly the BEST Cheesecake recipe! The texture is perfect! I acually put the sour cream topping on and then baked the additional 15 minutes but it looked like it almost "cooked" it instead of just setting. So I did another batch of the sweetened sour cream and after it cooled, before putting in the refrigerator, I put a whole additional layer of the sour cream topping on it and in the fridge it went. It was the best cheesecake I have ever eaten... not just of the ones I've made, but it was better than any I had ever had....Delicious! Try this, you will not regret it!

If you’re happy with an experienced bakers reply…… you could use a thick greek yogurt, but you can also make your own sour cream either by buying the culture, or i have even heard using some buttermilk to culture the cream. Hope this helps!

I've made this recipe about a dozen times since I first stumbled upon. No matter if I alter it a bit or follow the recipe exactly, I get a spectacular cheesecake. The last one I served with home made elderberry jelly and it was a total hit. Easy and delicious, tangy, creamy, heavenly soft texture... Thank you for sharing this excellent cheesecake. It also freezes well, I cut the pieces and wrap them individually. That way I can just enjoy it a bit at a time.

It's always a pleasure to get to see your videos Thursday mornings before I get on with my day. Then I can think about it all day.
Cheesecake is my favorite dessert - ALL of them. (Except I pass on anything with blueberries.) I used to have several cheesecake cookbooks, I was so addicted. Wonderful to have UA-cam to get back into cheesecakes and many new recipes.
Thank you for sharing so many great and reliable recipes and teaching me so much. I can't wait to hunt down digestive biscuits to try since you recommend them. But I think my favorite for pies, tarts, and cheesecakes will always be your shortbread crust. Heavenly!

Just come across this channel, for some strange reason it came on after watching crime and investigation 😶. As I was busy I left it running then I heard the word ‘digestives’ very strange in an American recipe so I sat down and watched it. I’m totally hooked. I love the way you just chat like everyone is just sat in your kitchen. I also love how you give all of the information on grams, ounces oven temps etc. Brilliant! I’m from Scotland, UK and I will be trying your digestive base cheesecake. I can see I’m not going to get much cleaning done today as I have subscribed 😱 it’s lovely to see someone that loves cooking/baking and has so much enthusiasm and funny too 😊 Thank you 😍🥰😘

I am in the process of making a GRAHAM CRACKER CHOCOLATE CRUST BUTTER PECAN cheesecake using my teacher's recipe...following her instructions to the letter.
This is my 3rd cheesecake. My first was BLUEBERRY-LEMON...the 2nd was MANGO SURPRISE....both were major successes. I will ALWAYS use Professor Stephanie's method in ANYTHING I bake.
I consider myself one of her MASTER STUDENTS. I just really enjoy when she gives a class = videos.
Since subscribing to her channel, I have become the star baker in my family. My siblings DEMAND I bring a baked good to family events and get upset with me if I don't.
They LOVE my creations and I owe ALL the credit to such a wonderful instructor and human being. I intend to start my own UA-cam channel dedicated to showing MEN how to bake.
HUGE THANK YOU, STEPHANIE...u have given my life new meaning. May HEALTH & WEALTH be yours the rest of your days.
    Peace & blessings.

Thankyou for all your options and suggesting of utensils or cooking equipment to use as alternatives in the kitchen. ( particularly as I don't have many baking tools). Your New York cheese cake looks lovely with its deep filling and crust. Here in the UK we have digestives which are used as the crust to such desserts. So it was inspiring to know you use and enjoy them too. Your demonstration inspired me to make my own recipe of a biscuit base crust, with a jam topping and thick custard layer. I forgot to put the biscuit crust in the fridge after initially making it. Its a learning process which is great for me whilst I watch your videos. - With thanks once again...

And was so delighted to hear that you mentioned British digestive biscuits.
I am a British born and bred.
And I too make the crust from Mc'vities digestive biscuits 🥰
And I'm going to try and make it your version too, wish me luck!
Oh and thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.
