Something weird that I noticed: when you use railgun, during relatively close encounters, your hand almost always twitches to the side or sometimes upwards right before LMB release as if to account for some "psychic" dodge by the enemy. Easier to see using < and > buttons here, for example at 19:44. I think at some point in the past I had something similar happening to me - when I had a not very handy mouse and my hand was getting too tense all the time.
My two builds so far have been: 1) Shipbreaker: Engineer perk light Armor/ Xbow, Senator, Impact Fire/ Jetpack, Stalwart, Precision Strike, 500kg 2) I am the Sentry: Seige-ready Perk Armor/ Knight, Grenade Pistol, Impact Fire/ Guard Dog, Machine Gun Sentry, Commando or AMR, Precision Strike
I tried out the carbine thinking the same thing, it would be good at stripping shields and handling the voteless. My results were pretty middling. I prefer now to run the purifier and just hit them with explosive shots.
I've found the tenderizer to work well on the voteless, but it's bad against the overseers. The Verdict secondary can melt overseers if you magnum in the chest.
My Illuminate build: Armor:Urban Legends Light Armor Primary: Halt Shotgun Secondary: Grenade Pistol Support Weapon: Machine Gun (The extra ammo and fast reload in the Halt works amazing with these weapons) Backpack: Guard Dog (great at dealing with voteless and beams overseers, also helps defend you when reloading with Machine Gun) Strategems: 500 kg, Rocket Mech

crossbow is the goat for me two shots the baddies and has decent crowd clear vs zombies
