  • This is one of the cleanest ways I have seen to siphon gas. You don't ever have to put your mouth on a hose that has been used for gas. You don't have to buy any type of pump. It's a cheap easy way to siphon.

This is a great idea. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it on a 2008 Ford Taurus, I found that the inserted siphon hose never touched the fuel, although the tank was full. My deduction is that there are baffles built into the tank that blocked the hose. So, no siphon kit would have worked for me. I am glad that this video gave me the idea to test before I wasted money on a siphon kit.

You just saved me like 8 bucks dude! I was looking for a way to syphon my alcohol into a secondary container with just the tube. I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new special syphoning hose with the automatic syphoning piece! :D thank you!

You should let everyone know this only works on old cars. ALL modern cars have anti siphon devices in their fill tubes ... you haven't been able to put a tube down into the actual tank for many years , there are blocks in the car's fill tube. I don't know when they become prevalent, most discussions just say that "modern cars" have the blocks.
One way to remove gas is to undo remove the line coming out of the fuel pump and putting a line that goes to your gas can and then hot wiring the pump ... more trouble than most will want to do. Hot wiring gives potential for sparks ... so YMMV and be careful if you must.

Twerk Nation by old cars, I'm talking much older ...30 year? I don't know when they started blocking the siphoning. There was a gas shortage back in 1970's and theft became a problem ... likely the anti siphon thing happened because of that and likely just a few years later? Anyways, depending on how much water is in your tank you can add "dry gas" .... isopropyl alcohol. That will absorb the water and allow it to be burnt. But if you got too much then you are looking to drain the tank ... that's a whole nother discussion.

thanks man for all the info the cars doing good now thank god. my dad and his friend ended up fixing it i forgot what they did exactly but i know they ended up taking the serpentine belt off and i know they sprayed something around the belt area as well. and then put the belt back on and then he told me to turn the car on and it did but it was shaking and worst idle in the world i wanted to turn it off thought my engine was gonna blow but they said no keep it on and my dad told me to keep it on for like half hour after he put a full tank of gas in it and then the car was running like new again bro i was soooooo happy because i thought i would need another engine after already blowing one due to riding and beating on my car with no oil. thankful man and thank you for your help

Just make sure the blowing tube is bigger than the funnel tube or it won't work.

Has nothing to do with it, it's about causing positive preassure i side the tank, which pushes the fuel out of the tank.

Unfortunately mine didnt work anyway because the tank had an anti siphon feature. It just didnt allow a positive pressure to form
