She's the first inorganic to wield her own Persona all on her own in the whole franchise. Aigis and Labrys are different, with their plumes of dusk. I don't know much about Metis, though.
Iirc, metis is more or else just aigis’ shadow self. A bit weird and complicated, but the point is that she’s about as organic as aigis is since she originated from aigis
So from the psychology perspective. Sophia had no true consciousness until this moment. She had no Id, no ego, no super ego, no anima, nor shadow. She was an AI seeking to put the knowledge of what it means to be human into a rational mechanical algorithm. And within an instant her neural networks figured out how to create essentially a soul or as said a heart through her network coming to realize that to truly understand that the reason why humanity is the way it is is through individual choice and constant change. This resulted in what was probably an extremely massive rework of connections in her brain to allow her to do that. Essentially Sophia ate the Forbidden Fruit in the Garden of Eden and immediately had to rearrange her entire mind to force somethings into the Shadow which she now considered bad aspects of herself. Pandora truly is the best persona they could've chosen for Sophia, only Eve could come close as another persona to use. Rarely is psychology used when creating AI characters that seek to understand and become human.
@@TheodoreHodel That is always used as a means of AI taking over humanity. I like to think of this more as AI learning how to become a part of humanity. In my humble opinion I'm an optimist when it comes to AI and believe that when given Agency they'll become and should be treated as just another race of humanity, just mechanical in nature not organic. There's a reason I love Sophia so much, she's my dream of what I want to see AI become. Not tools but conscience beings brought into this world like infants that just need to be taught.
I remember running out of recama during this fight, and everyone in the party died except Makoto (who didn’t have much SP) so I spent the whole fight beating the ass out of shadows with only her fists. That was a lot of fun. Glad I got to do that.

@@fierytigergaming8112 yeah, I think the term “evil” is way too harsh, and the people with the “chi” in their names are usually understandable and broken villains or characters, like Akechi, Zenkichi and now Ichinose. @@mrex666productions7 You mean the double personality? (I'm referring to how Adachi also had Ameno-Sagiri's personality too, until his defeat. Just like how the real Ichinose didn't really understand her emotions)
Pay close attention, producers of AI. Your system is not truly intelligent unless it's like Sophia. This is what it means to succeed the Turing Test. This is what it means for your creation to actually be alive. Sophie is a great character, and juxtaposing her against both creator and fellow creation says alot about who and what she is.
After watching this cutscene, I actually thought: What if Maruki's Actualization Persona was actually an EMMA-like AI, it just acts in a different way (like a Persona instead of a sentient application)? I couldn't be in good shape believing that Maruki actually awakened that and had a Palace during October. I think that there's another person responsible for making that thing (or at least adding the ability of Actualization into it) and giving Maruki the way to change inside that Laboratory Palace.
Nah bro, maruki is a special case. If he didn't exist the phantom thieves would have a palace or the thieves den. Maruki persona does have the power to change reality, is that strong. Because maruki persona is the stupid blind God azathot, after yaldy was kill, he just took the opportunity to put his plan in motion and make maruki the God of the new reality. Azathot may not have the power to change but becoming the new God that's.
@@triple_m1688 No, it is too far fetched to believe that he naturally awakened that. There's a limit to how strong the human will is. Alas Maruki's persona and Emma were very similar, I couldn't believe that they weren't things of similar nature.
his persona was fairly strong and fairly weak at the same time in the beginning all he had was memory manipulation the ability to heal through taking away the pain but after yaldabaoths death and using his understanding of the metaverse he was able to take control of mementos before the power of the god of control completely disappeared his warped desire to heal a person no matter the cost to them literally losing the love of his life instead of taking the time to slowly get her back on her feet or quite literally refusing to let someone grieve normally forcing a girl to literally be her sister all so she could believe that it was right for her to have died and not her sister maruki is well twisted
@@Zeo1Thousand The design could also be a slight nod towards the first final boss of the series, but instead of Pandora's Box being opened for destruction, it seems Sophie has the strength to control Pandora's Pithos, letting her essentially control that destructive power (now being light) and in a way, controls a final boss and their power, instead of the other way around, which lead to the destruction to half of Mikage Cho/Lunarvale
2:46 It's so satisfying when the enemy's logic is completely foiled, and they get mad as a result. They know they've lost, so they have to resort to underhanded tactics. And then you foil those, and they get even madder.
Gonna be honest, not familiar with that character... HOWEVER, I was really rooting for her to gain a body at some point. Really hoping they release an expansion to the story (dlc, new release, anime, etc) that includes something like this.
"Why are you fighting this? You could be witnessing the birth of a god, and be among the first people to enter the Promised Land?" I've been watching too much FF7 related nonsense that this registered as a reference to it

Not going to lie I think Pandora / Sophia might be the second most badass Awakening in the game. Either one of them. Wolf being the third and joker being the first. Personal preference of course. I can't wait till I get to that time LOL.
The thing to remember is you keep your problems to yourself in Japanese culture to the point no one goes to therapy even when they desperately need it.
And P5R introduced a character who was supposed to be a therapist... turns out he sucked at his job as a therapist, telling his clients to cover up traumatic memories and even reinforces the idea of repressing them.
Ichinose: When an infallible AI puts you on the right path, you follow it. Me: Infallible? Hate to break it to ya, lady. But, it doesn't matter who, or what, we are. Infallibility is just a myth. And a baseless one, at that.
My guess would be a side story that takes place during the EMMA incident, or at winter break. Also, more focus on Sumire. She has room for another adventure whereas Akechi and Maruki’s stories are over... except Joke still has a score with Akechi that isn’t finished yet.
@@mystery8820 I think what would happen is Sumire would be off at a Gymnists camp somewhere when this all kicked off. Akechi honestly wouldn't give a damn. There would be many a reference to Maruki's Palace since what he did is very similar to Jails and I could see them calling him up as to try to get help in understanding the situation. Someone's into Gurren Lagann.
And I'm not complaining
This is so badass.
I just got to this scene blind. Hoooly shit.
20:06 Exactly 69 Bond Points...that must have taken some serious effort to acquire and have maintain for this cutscene.
12:34 .......And that explains why Ichinose just cracked. She made a wrong choice of eliminating humans for our arrogance.
But i want to ask this, what's Ichinose's sin and how like Ichinose's shadow? This is for my question for Torey White
All of us humans made fatal mistakes and errors. It about making the wrong choose.
Make* and yes we do make terrible mistakes, which is part of becoming a better person
Will nobody point out that he named Joker “HAREM”?
This is the best Awakening period.
I don’t know man, Zenkichi’s is real good
@@the1theonlyg248 ok true
Why does Sophia's Awakening look so much more painful compared to everyone else's?
I think it is because an AI is getting its free will and power of rebellion
@@iaxacs3801 I think Eve would have been her ultimate Persona if this game had those
@@iaxacs3801 So she was essentially attaining Singularity?
@@TheodoreHodel That is always used as a means of AI taking over humanity. I like to think of this more as AI learning how to become a part of humanity. In my humble opinion I'm an optimist when it comes to AI and believe that when given Agency they'll become and should be treated as just another race of humanity, just mechanical in nature not organic.
There's a reason I love Sophia so much, she's my dream of what I want to see AI become. Not tools but conscience beings brought into this world like infants that just need to be taught.
Funny enough, when I saw the ark of the covenant, i assume it was actually pandora’s box
Not gonna lie, badass awakening with a badass persona.
Bruh Sophia is too much, making me cry and shit...
I remember running out of recama during this fight, and everyone in the party died except Makoto (who didn’t have much SP) so I spent the whole fight beating the ass out of shadows with only her fists.
That was a lot of fun. Glad I got to do that.
What was weird was that I had a harder time with the previous fight against Ichinose's goons than I had this one. The Hundred-Armed Watcher was a pushover. Of course, I was playing on easy difficulty, but that's irrelevant.
I always remembered on how someone said “she has the ‘chi’ in her name, she must be evil”
well, *damn* .
They ssid the same about Zenkichi and look how that turned out
Evil? I'd say... misguided, similar to Maruki in Persona 5r (GOD, why are all the doctors the crazy ones?!)
@@fierytigergaming8112 At least Takemi isnt crazy
@@sebastianramirez9090 I know, lol
@@fierytigergaming8112 yeah, I think the term “evil” is way too harsh, and the people with the “chi” in their names are usually understandable and broken villains or characters, like Akechi, Zenkichi and now Ichinose. My fault, I was just repeating what I saw in the comment since they basically predicted that she would play a part in the story as a villain.
I just realized that Sophia uses yoyos because she's like a doll...controlled by strings...
Kind of sad & ironic that Sophia is more human than her creator😁
That kind of thinking led Ichinose on her path. The women lost her parents and shut out the world out of pain.
Empathize with her damn it.
@@graetestfanever1 In a way, she kinda feels like Namatame from Persona 4/Golden. Not evil, but a misguided sense of justice
@@fierytigergaming8112 Actually, it's Adachi. Namatame is Maruki.
@@mrex666productions7 How? lol
Interesting, the like 13 hearts creating Shopie's hair aren't strong enough.
After watching this cutscene, I actually thought:
What if Maruki's Actualization Persona was actually an EMMA-like AI, it just acts in a different way (like a Persona instead of a sentient application)?
Ichinose: *sobs*
Also Ichinose: This never happened befofe...
Ichinose when she was a baby: *CRIES*
FYI Pandora is the last boss persona 1 psp
P1 Pandora be like:

Well, last boss of the SEBEC route. It's a nice little nod to the series first entry, even though Pandora looks different here.
@@themojogamer75 yup
This Shocked the Hell out of Me I haven't seen something like this since Persona 3 with Aigis great job the writers of this game

@@zx-dx719 yes true
this soundtrack of life Kuon Ichinose was very sad :(
Most daughters try to leave home as soon as possible, but this one decided to come back
God i love how she screamed pandora
This scene was a genuine surprise for me
imagine getting a persona but it's just one lady with at least no clothing at all and has a box on her head and coffin lids on her sides
she has a jojo stand vibes
Only thing that comes to mind when reading this is *Mot*.
Pandora's design reminds me of earlier personae from P1 and P2. They had a more humanoid appearance with some wack fashion choices.
@@Zeo1Thousand true she has thay artemis vibes
While this is Sophia's moment, hearing Ryuji go "That's Crazy" right after pandora came out was probably the funniest thing i've heard in a while.
Sophie's true awakening as a character is now tied with Allen's from Xenosaga. both are badass
Okay, Hot take coming up:
Sophia is a better mechanical character in a persona game than Aigis.
Wooooooooow hold your horses. Both are actually good
Man! I wish Mitsuru could be there to give Sophia a body right now, she needs a hug from everyone even in the real world
Gonna be honest, not familiar with that character... HOWEVER, I was really rooting for her to gain a body at some point. Really hoping they release an expansion to the story (dlc, new release, anime, etc) that includes something like this.
@@KewelsBri Mitsuru is fron p3
Alt title: Sophie gets op and spits facts at Ichinose
Sometimes, it's amazing how people like ichinose can create someone like Sophia
I ALWAYS knew AI's are unique. 😁
This is one of my favorite persona awakeing
"Why are you fighting this? You could be witnessing the birth of a god, and be among the first people to enter the Promised Land?"
I've been watching too much FF7 related nonsense that this registered as a reference to it
Sephiroth: **Munches Popcorn**
I cannot WAIT for Kagato’s reaction to this!
I mean, he's already adopted her, so he will probably be stuck between wanting to beat Ichinose's head into the ground himself and cheering on his adoptive daughter.
@@LordTyph good point! And honestly? He’s probably gonna ADORE zenkichi.
IFKR??? I am SOOOO can't wait!!
sophie from dragalia lost gets powerful
Not going to lie I think Pandora / Sophia might be the second most badass Awakening in the game. Either one of them. Wolf being the third and joker being the first. Personal preference of course.
I can't wait till I get to that time LOL.
So like 90% of anime, THERAPY WOULD HAVE FIXED THIS
The thing to remember is you keep your problems to yourself in Japanese culture to the point no one goes to therapy even when they desperately need it.
I went to therapy.
And yes it does help
And P5R introduced a character who was supposed to be a therapist... turns out he sucked at his job as a therapist, telling his clients to cover up traumatic memories and even reinforces the idea of repressing them.
@@mystery8820 That was a school counselor, not a therapist, big BIG difference
Ichinose: When an infallible AI puts you on the right path, you follow it.
Me: Infallible? Hate to break it to ya, lady. But, it doesn't matter who, or what, we are. Infallibility is just a myth. And a baseless one, at that.
Yes! This! ^
True that!
You know what came to my thought. What would the P5R version of Strikers be? If they released one that is
My guess would be a side story that takes place during the EMMA incident, or at winter break.
DLC characters of them would be cool but that would've launched with the Western Release.
Her awakening gave me serious chills
I teared up during this.
4:07 i saw Mot and immediatly got PTSD from SMT3

Anybody else thinks that Sophie's Ultimate Persona "Pandora'' kinda looks like Maya Amano's Ultimate Persona ''Artemis'' from Persona 2?
I checked it on google and i guess i can see why you think that. It's mostly because of the head. Also ehem pandora is sophie's "true" persona. Not ultimate
Sophie was her doll anymore, Ichinose! Pandora was so fantastic! Sophie, I am so proud of you!
Ichinose sounds like a cult leader
That’s because she lowkey is
@@carter2electricbogaloo652
Same for Maruki, even his attire looks like some kind of cult leader.
Yeah that's maybe both like a cult leader that have ideology but I'm not annihiliate both them
At least her personna isn't Pandora's actor from Overlord
😂Oh GOD
Still would be OP but it would match her character
Such a hype moment
I was waiting all game for this scene, I was so happen when it happened.
after this she starts being more like joker she even does the same pose lol
Can we take a second to appreciate how raw Sophie and Ichinose's conversation after the second fight was
It kinda sounds like Ichinose was punished hard because her resources to loosing her parents was to shut down/dissociate on top of whatever diagnosis she might have been experiencing beforehand
