Thanks again for a very helpful tutorial, I really enjoy learning all the different and simple techniques you share to guide us in our baking endeavors! 😊🙏🏽🇨🇦
Emily, I love how we have the same first name😊 I am definitely going to implement your strategy, I think I have a hard time because I’m not taking my time but practice makes perfect. Thanks!
Always my buttercream frosting gets hard when i put it in refrigerator like waiting to hand over the cake to the customer. They said very hard. What should I do with the frosted cake?
Yes, I find that sometimes happens with very dark colours. Since the frosting is still so cold and firm after cutting it, you can spread a bit more of the frosting on top and spread it to cover the top, smoothing it and scraping around the sides and it will sit perfectly level on top of those sharp edges, covering up any discolouring underneath
I have tried and tried and tried to decorate a cake like this. For the life of me, I cannot get smooth icing. It doesn’t matter what I use. I don’t think cake decorating is for me. 😞

@@BritishGirlBakes ….thank you. I’ve been watching your videos and I do see several mistakes I’ve been doing. I just feel like I put on the frosting and end up scraping it all off again. There are 2 things I really need to work on. One, a new frosting recipe and two, patience. Patience, patience, patience. 🥴

Hi! The recipe is here: www.britishgirlbakes.com/recipes/buttercream-frosting/
I don’t have a cake comb or a turntable, what should I use?
What’s your favorite icing comb?
Saludos de Perú 🇵🇪
Do we need to refrigerate the cake before cutting top edges ?
Yes! Fridge or freezer until the frosting is firm
This helps a lot because i honestly suffer from not being able to smoothly frost the second coat of butter cream

You are awesome 👌
Thank you so much!
The only problem I find with the method is the hit water discolors the icing especially if you are going to pipe lettering on top

This looks much more difficult than your usual method of smoothing the top.
It is more time consuming and a bit trickier BUT the angle from the sides to the top of the cake will be much sharper
@@BritishGirlBakes Thank you for the explanation.
Primeiro
Thanks for this wonderful ideas
