Good review. One correction: You cannot turn Z-Breathe EPR totally off. It has 3 settings; Z1,Z2&Z3. Z1 has the least adjustment, Z3 has the most pressure relief. The Z2 is much quieter than the Z1, but still has some whining sound, especially as you exhale. IMHO, if HDM could allow Z-Breathe OFF, that would also be a way to further reduce noise, since most of that noise is during the transition from full pressure, to the lower pressure during EPR. All in all a very good little machine. It's easier to pack than most, and you can use any mask and standard tubing. The auto on/off feature is also very good, and a nice addition since the Z1.
ive been using the fisher paykel icon plus for years with F20 mask and not using humification chamber. also works well. NOW ive been looking @ the resmed airsense and thinking of that machine in case the F & P dies. THEN i realised if i wanna go travelling, im best to use the Z2 travel. if the Z2 travel can be used for travel, could it also be used for home use? i would assume yes?
I have a DreamStation (1) and I have looked at the Z2 for travel. My sleep doctor suggested the AirSense Mini or Dreamstation Go (pre Philips recall) and not the Z2. She said something along the lines that the first two are more similar to the DS. What are your thoughts? Also I use a Jackery 500 for off-grid camping. Would the Z2 be okay with that? Thank and love our informative videos.
It'll take you less than 10 minutes to be familiar enough with the workings of this machine to absolutely mitigate anything you're used to. The Jackery 500 will work with this unit. I don't know the Z2's wattage but if it's 50 watts the Jackery should be sufficient for most nights.
I bought a Z2 . It turns off after 1 He and never turns back up. The company only has email and has never answered how, or why is it doing it! I lost my $500!
I’m thinking of replacing my still-working ResMed Airsense 10 and was told by CPAP supply company that this Z2 machine could replace my Airsense 10 as my primary CPAP machine at home. Is this true or is the Z2 meant for limited use while traveling. I just read the comment below regarding everyday use. I could use the Z2 as my main machine and if if breaks down, use the old Airsense 10 until it’s repaired. If this won’t be a reliable option, I might preorder the Resmed Airsense Auto. Cheers!
The Z2 is a good travel CPAP. However I am not a fan of it for everyday use. We would be happy to supply either if you are in the US. cpapmyway.com/store/cpap-machines/travel-cpap-machines/z2-auto-travel-cpap cpapmyway.com/store/cpap-machines/auto-cpap-machines/airsense-11-auto-cpap
I have a z2 auto. In apap mode it behaves as if in cpap mode operating at apap low pressure (4) as reported by HDM and Nitelog. I am using the mask and tube I use (Amara, 6 ft tube) with my Airsense 10 auto and I have no issues. Airsense 10 provides pressure from between 7 and 11reported by Oscar. I blocked the tube at the mask and the z2 pressure climbed to 13 when I then released it. I also blocked the tube directly in the mask and the z2 slowly increases the pressure. I have tried 2 of these and both work the same. There seems to be no leaks reported. Is the Amara mask not suitable? Manufacturer did not respond to any request for help (email and phone) after several attempts. The seller has no idea on this. Any thoughts on this? Thanks
@@CPAPmyway Thanks - my conclusion was the algorithm as 2 z2's performed exactly the same. No trouble With ResMed or Philips in that regard. Thanks again for confirming. z2 returned.
@@jeremydelarosa7605 It is wear and tear. The few customers that I can think of off hand that use it as their primary CPAP have had at least one break down. So while the warranty is good and they will repair it, you have to go without it for a few weeks while it is repaired. In my experience it in not durable enough to stand up to every day use.

@@CPAPmyway Sorry about my grumpy comment. But Breas are really the bottom of the barrel in my experience. I bought a new Z1 which I used like 4 times before the internal battery gave up. Turns out, Breas refused to repair it nor any help whatsoever. Itstead the offered to sell me a new Z2 with a small discount. Will my resmed hose with the Airfit F30i mask work with the Z2?
Yes it will. As long as you have the adapter on your Z2.

The Z2 has a very different Auto Algorithm than the AirSense 10 for sure.

Can you use this cpap machine as your everyday machine or is that not recommended?
We have a few customers that do that. My opinion is that the Z2 travel CPAP is best suited for travel purposes only though.
@@CPAPmyway why do you only recommend as travel? is it effectiveness or ware and tear

Breas, the Z2 company, is an absolute horror to deal with. Both product and company is totally useless. I strongly reccomend you to avoid it.
