We want to retire to Prescott, but we were shocked at the price of houses there. We were always told that AZ was affordable. No more. Not sure what we are going to do because we can't afford half a million to 3/4 of a million dollars for a 3 bedroom house. Very sad because we just love Prescott and were looking forward to moving there.
I just moved to Cabo San Lucas Mexico in 2022. I wanted to experience a different culture and I wanted to live on the beach and that's not financially realistic in the states. It's truly a very special place and it has some of the most amazing beaches in the world. I lived in Tempe Arizona for most of my life time, 35 years to be exact. Phoenix is amazing I will always love the city it's got everything a human will need except the ocean. I will always call it home.. great content..
I grew up in South Scottsdale. On 68th and McDowell. If you don't remember Los Arcos Mall. You didn't live in the best time that South Scottsdale was. And was is the operative word. Because the entire area is a toilet now.
@@elitehometeamaz I moved to Chandler in 2012, sold that house a couple of years ago and transferred to Des Moines. I live just Southwest of Des Moines now. Between Des Moines and Winterset. My niece really wanted to go to the University of Iowa Nursing School. I wanted out of AZ completely. So it worked out in the end. Got a nephew now that wants to come out and play football in Ames because thats where Purdy played. We'll see.
I was just talking to my little sister the other day about Los Arcos, (midnight movies specifically) and Cafè Casino across the street. Those were good times...
Left Phoenix AZ in 2021 when I retired. Loved living there but the persistent increase in the cost of living made it impossible to stay ahead. I made a low six figure income but still could not make any progress. Once I retied I knew I would struggle if I stayed there.
We lived in arizona for 21 years, Gilbert.Area mostly. Late 90s to early 2000, it was a great place. It would take you roughly twenty-five minutes to get to phoenix. Now.Forget it. It got overpopulated way too fast, and it started to turn pink to almost blue.So we figured we'd pack up our things and leave, and we don't ever regret it, considerin the crap that's still going on now.... Oh, btw Coolidge is still not a great place to live, just check out their education rankings.
Remember when they built the Phoenix childrens hospital? About 86 they did a huge expansion. 24th St and Thomas was just a simple intersection with one lone traffic signal. I remember watching them tear the houses out there to put the 51 through around 84. If you TRULY want to understand Phoenix, head to the Burton Barr Library and read ALL of the old newspapers one after the next from the 1920's through the year you moved to Phoenix. Then you will actually UNDERSTAND this place. I did it years ago, it took a little time but it was well worth the effort. If you don't know anything about Phoenix then why are you trying to live there?
our family has all left the Phoenix area because of the corrupt police force and sheriffs office of Maricopa County. It has never directly affected us, but affected many people in our social circle. It always seemed to boil down the color of their skin. We wanna live in a melting pot where there’s a chance of peace. I don’t see that happening in Maricopa County.
Main thing to understand about Arizona, like other flyover country, even granting that every place and soul on earth has a unique identity, even in so-called communist countries… Main thing to know as I was saying is that it has never been a magnet like New York and California and other culture capitals, both domestic and international, for the beautiful, charismatic, talented, disciplined and ambitious… That more than anything else is what shapes the day-to-day life, the day-to-day experience on the ground… Of course, besides the climate and landscape
lol really? Beautiful, talented, charismatic and ambitious are the magnets themselves. Maybe you don’t see them as much in AZ because they already know it and aren’t trying hard to prove it to everyone else.
The title might better read people leaving Scottsdale since most references are to Scottsdale. As for house prices, many Californians have moved here, which has resulted in Arizonans being assimilated into California's dark culture. So Arizona, to me, is basically "Calizona" now. Unfortunately.

That's a myth dude! It's unfortunate how misinformed so many people are. How do you think places like Dubai survive in the desert climate ? They use cloud seeding technology to make it rain. Our government can modify weather using a technology called HAARP, or cloud seeding. They can make it Snow in Phoenix if they wanted to. They've been using this tech since the 60s, and have openly discussed it many times. There were classified documents about it that were declassified by the CIA. So when your state says that we may experience a drought, just know that they are lying to you. They want to push their climate agenda and need people to be in fear. If everyone were educated about the technology they use to modify weather then their propaganda would not work.
