I watched this yesterday with my sister, thanks to JFF India team. It was so beautiful, intense, calm and crazy at the same time. We were so confused but it all made sense at the end... The entire team needs more praise, recognition and awards.
Also Ryuichi Sakamoto's name in the ending credits made me too emotional. Hope he is in peace.

【Spoiler Warning】This movie is not about bullying. There's actually another big theme, but it's hidden in the trailer. You can tell by knowing which awards it won at Cannes. Also, the title "Monster" has the meaning that humans, including viewers, create monsters through their own selfish beliefs that cause social distortions. It's a challenging movie for viewers.

I've already watched this movie twice in the theater, but I want to watch it more.
Directing to the point of the director's divine state, so precious performances of child characters,
not to mention overwhelmingly beautiful filming,
the structure of this movie makes difficult for anyone to call someone 'a monster' easily...
and the last piece of music written by Ryuichi Sakamoto. No doubt the masterpiece of 2023.

I did not read any reviews about the film before viewing in the theater, as I always do, as I did not want any spoilers. Go see it now. It's heartbreaking and beautiful. The children are amazing.

When i started watching this trailer, by the title I assumed it was a movie adaptation of the Manga "Monster" by Naoki Urasawa, which is about a surgeon. Well this totally isn't that. But I did enjoy Hirokazu Kore-eda`s other movies like Broker and Shoplifters; so i`ll definitely at this to the list to watch as soon as it hits theaters near me !

If this is half as good as Shoplifters it will be a great film.

I've read tons of manga and watched so much anime over the years that's basically _just_ some variant of this that I feel like I've watched this hundreds of times already.
Definitely want to see this, though.

If you've watched it by now, perhaps you've found it's not what you thought it was.

Haven't watched yet, but I will. The subject matter seems to be similar to a Danish movie called "The Hunt" starring Mads Mikkelsen from 2012. That movie was gut-wrenching so I need to be prepared for Monster.
