I was working cattle with a neighbor that had one of those self-catching chutes, looks just like yours, and he had a cow run up there and hit the front of it so hard that one side broke through where it was out and the other side was trying to hold. In other words, one leaf was locked and the other had jumped completely outside. He ran Brangus cattle in this great big cow did the damage was caught and by her hips and she was definitely not a happy camper. That ended my love affair with self-catching chutes.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that fights that John Deere quick attach. I end up wrestling it just like you did. Make sure none of the bolts are missing or broken on the crossbar that ties the two arms together right between those mounts. That helped mine but it is on a 7800 and the MFWA is so big you can’t even see the ground to pick up an attachment.

Mt.vernon, SD is the same size as my town Hanna,IN . No stoplights , no streetlights, two bars and a post office and farm land .

Those bulls seemed pretty calm when you loaded them. I’ll let you come load mine. I have one that has to be locked up by himself. Last time he was trying to jump the center gate. Pretty sure he won’t be on my farm for much longer.

never known farmers to spread muck in a paddock with cows in it or that wet - in NZ we spread when the ground is frozen in the morning so the tires don't sink or have a pile ready to go out and we stand that paddock down for 6 weeks while the worms do there work - just interesting how different countries do their thing
That's a cornfield not a pasture. Just need a place to put the cows.

Cole I am so proud of you Graduating College in Agronomy. Education is so important to keep up to date with advancements in the Primary Industries. Young farmers need all the support that they can get. You and your Dads top animal husbandry practices are to be lauded. Please google 3rd June 2020, ABC Breakfast Droving to see how we used to get cattle to market before trucking in Australia in the late 50s. All the best to you and your family, especially Momma Sonne for keeping the home fires burning and doing such a good job of looking after you all!

@@SonneFarms It depends on the ad. The short 6 second videos are paid per 1000 views of the ad, the longer ones at least 30 seconds needs to be watched (or full video if shorter). Since you're one of my faves I tend to watch everything. Then reload so the ads play again and comments are refreshed and then read comments or comment on my own. My 2 least favorite things in farming is abviously Taxes, and watching and having to help a cow produce a calf.
