- This video is the result of me taking something seriously for summer break. I'm glad I didn't back down until the very end.
This video also took me 3 whole days to edit.

1:06 meiling when sakuya is checking
3:04 meiling literally any other moment
Extremely based choice to play Meiling out of everyone in the roster despite her tier placement. She's so cool to bring kung fu to a laser battle
Actually, that's Tai Chi Quan, sir. 🤓
@@damntulcury579 actually ur mom lole
this video inspired me to start playing the game as a beginner okuu main
just keep in mind that you really wanna optimize okuu's damage output
every single hit should confirm into a 3500 damage combo

I feel personally responsible for telling nick about the 623c thing 1:16
Your editing is on point for this kind of montage, good job
That Typhoon is the most unfortunately timed thing I've ever seen.
Man, I could never do these kinds of things, since I literally suck at doing imputs and everything, congrats to you
thanks bro I tried my hardest
The whole first half of this video was me sucking. You can definitely get better with a learning mindset and time.
@@DylanVee how do i get a learning mindset (im retardid)
Just rewatch this and i didn't realize how motivating this video is
I used to play this in the university with some Friends, would be nice to try again
you should! it's fun
No Golden Suika has been farmed during the making of this video :))))
using this as inspiration to try to play thing game (and not lose every round)
the improvement is so sick
This makes me want to get back into this game
Why dont you?
@@vitorsoares5809 I mean I suck at fighting games in general which I why really haven't come back to them most of time
6:57 The power of Meiling dash
Did Great at the End a Meiling one with Nature and refined her techniques She Not going be sleeping on the Job Anymore.
GOATED VIDEO
The first 10 seconds really hit home for me. I used to play Meiling and played the exact same way. Also, a friend of mine uses Suika and play EXACTLY like that. For one moment I thought it was one of our replays!
She has a move that looks exactly like Miyako's from Melty
I love this montages
Increase my joy to play Hisou
Wow, very impressive! wish you still grind and reach top level 🤞
I like how we both can't compute Tenshi's 5sc Reversal; Great video!
Another Meiling main is such a beautiful thing. Stay strong brother
Recently me and some friends played Soku, after we ended for the day i heavily thought about maining Meiling and this just inspires me more to do so
Awesome skills right there!
Meiling is an awesome character. Give her an honest shot!
Ayyy great work my guy! The clip 1:06 at was pretty funny, hahah
Nice.
I wanna get back to my Meiling but my real-life millionaire speedrun has kept me busy. Maybe once i retire I'll be an old man grinding Soku.
i learnt a new combo extension from this. Thank you.
thank you dylan, very cool
The last time I thought about this game, I barely knew what Touhou was and I had no idea how to play fighting games. Now that I'm a little more interested in both, maybe I oughta give it a shot and I can be right there getting my rear handed to me with the rest of y'all.
Give it a shot! The game is very expressive and unique. + The community is decently active! (especially on weekends)
I forgot how fun this game was, been 7 years
0:25 Aaaaalrighty then, chatroom.
I've never played Soku before, but this makes me want to try it. Always wanted to play as Suwako!
Woah, so you have a youtube channel! Nice nice
Wau, powerful determination.
There ya go! Congrats champ!
Amazing video! Congrats on mastering Meiling!
The Git Gud are the friends we made along the way
lmao, i laughed, a lot, thank you 😂
This game is much better than the recent 2hu fighting games
Well done!!
Really good video
Man, that sure is a blast from the past. Have not played this game in 11 years. Though, unlike you, I sucked at it (and SWR, and IaMP).
You should give it another shot if you have the time. the community is more alive than ever!
@@DylanVee Guess it's a bit like the Smash Bros. Melee among Touhou fighting games, fated to never be replaced by a newer entry.
Don't think I'm really in the mindset to be able to enjoy it anymore, but good luck and have fun to you and the rest of the fandom either way.
@@naikyou I'm out of the loop, is there even a new Touhou fighting game? Even then, all the Smash Bros games play pretty much similar to each other in their general feel, is there anything new that's like Hisoutensoku, or do the new games try something different that's completely out of the ballpark?
@@KahunaLagoona There were Hopeless Masquerade (13.5), Urban Legend in Limbo (14.5) and Antinomy of Common Flowers (15.5). Haven't actually played any of them so I don't know a whole lot about how they play.
I didn't mean that the games played like Smash, just that 12.3 is an old title that doesn't get dropped by its remaining community, similarly to Melee with its thriving competitive scene even after several sequels.
@@KahunaLagoona
"is there anything new that's like Hisoutensoku"
I think 5 years ago, a mod (Soku2) was developed to swap out characters for new characters. Momiji to replace Reimu. Flandre to replace Remilia. Etc. And most recently, not only was Satori added to the game, but the mod was changed so that it just added in those new characters, no replacement needed, given you the SWR roster, the few Hisoutensoku newcomers, and a crap ton of extra from the aforementioned to even bringing in Mima.
5:06 yayy good job old dillbert

Is there a Soku discord of somekind? i've always wanted to learn this game to some degree
yes! theres several discords. heres the one I frequent. discord.gg/5Uw4N7T
It has a beginner - mid level tournament happening this month you should see if you should join up!
@@DylanVee thank you for providing me with this! I always wanted to get into soku and play Komachi as i've started to like her as a character more recently but my frequent playing of aocf kept me away from it
@@R3mil_ Soku is a very active game with lots of people playing every day. It also has rollback! check out the community version of the game in the discord theres a lot of cool stuff and people there. hope to see ya man
@@DylanVee It has rollback!? Now I'm 100% sold on this game.
I live in the middle of nowhere in Mexico, so a game having good online infrastructure is a must for me.
Plus, I love the Touhou girls. ;)
the virgin touhou character vs the chad fighting game meiling
God, imagine if LTG ever got his hands on this, let alone managed to play it for more than 5 minutes before calling it "kookily" and dropping it.
What would be the "meta characters" to dashboard combo over?
Everyone tbh. All the characters in this game can do some crazy stuff!
nice bro!

She is bad, but if it's fun, why not bother?
Those hitboxes are not as they seem
touhou tighter

Heheh
Hey, I just started looking into this game because it looks really fun. Do you know where I can best find beginner resources myself?
A good beginner resource is the Soku wiki to check out what the game has to offer:
hisouten.koumakan.jp/wiki/Touhou_Hisoutensoku_Wiki
Also check out the UA-cam Channel Spell break for replays:
@SpellBreakSoku
and lastly check out the discord to talk to people:
discord.gg/hisouten
Theres also the replay website to check out replays for the character you play and stuff:
sokureplays.delthas.fr/
This video made me decide to give this game a try and use Meiling.
It's either going to go really well or really poorly for me.
Hahaha...
good luck young Meiling! Do not hesitate to ask me or any of the other Meiling players in the Discord server for help!
@@DylanVee Thanks.
By the way, what's the name of the Discord server and where can I join?

where i can download for this game?
bro how can I play this in online mode ?
if you download the community version of the game, when you press online you can see anyone whos playing!
@@DylanVee tnx for the info bro ^^d
@@DylanVee I know this is late but where can I get the community version? Yes, I'm _that_ new to the game

@@DylanVee Not all heroes wear capes
Yeah this pretty accurate. Lmfao
1:16 what do all these numbers mean?
This is a fighting game notation called numpad notation. Look at the numpad on your keyboard. Essentially the number before the letter is the direction you must press and the letter stands for the button of the move. Something like 4A would mean press A while holding away from your opponent. Special move motions are also written like this with a combination of numbers. 22B for example means press down twice, then press B.
